Belonging to the Okura Hotels group, the cleanliness is top-notch by domestic standards. The location is excellent – it's quietly situated yet right next to a subway station where three lines converge. As for service, the parking attendant was quite impatient. When I asked how to reserve a PMO parking spot, he dismissively said it wasn't his concern, which was a bit much. There's definitely a gap compared to Okura hotels in Japan in this regard. Although the facilities are 36 years old, they are well-maintained, but the signs of age are inevitably present.DePLN 354

Fantastic! Even though there is a change in management, there has been no decline in service. Lilly Li was superb at check-in; she was thorough and fast, allowing me to get to my room and sleep ASAP after 27 hours of travelling!
It was also great to note that my preferences were remembered - even despite the management change. Breakfast was charming as the chef brought the spirit of Chinese New Year to our plates with creative steamed buns and expanded Chinese fare. The room was nice and quite spacious! We arrived very late on the first day, and the air conditioning felt a bit weak, but everything else was good afterward. The balcony wasn't big, but the view was lovely. There's no exhaust fan in the bathroom, so the ventilation isn't great. However, the cleanliness was excellent. When we checked out, we passed by a room that had just been vacated and saw a cleaning lady meticulously cleaning the floor, which explains why my son's white socks weren't dirty even after walking barefoot on the floor. The front desk staff were also very friendly. Breakfast offered a good variety and everything tasted great, and the location was excellent. The complimentary travel photography session produced some fantastic shots. I'd likely choose this hotel again next time!DePLN 505

The room was very clean, tidy, and comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful, and having self-service laundry facilities was very convenient. The hotel isn't far from the Bund; you can take bus routes 33, 55, or 123 directly there in one stop. The Bund's night view is beautiful, and iconic landmarks like the Bottle Opener (Shanghai World Financial Center), Egg Beater (Shanghai Tower), and Syringe (Oriental Pearl TV Tower) are definitely worth visiting. The observation deck can get crowded, so you'll need patience. Although there's a reservation time, you can arrive early without any issues.DePLN 414

I’ve stayed at the Westin Bund Center a couple of times now. It’s a great choice if you wanna show off to visitors. The views are lovely (even if you don’t get to see the bund). My room is spacious, clean, and the amenities are very good. I like the breakfast atmosphere & how large the hotel feels. The service is good. There always someone there to help you. The location is close enough to walk to the Bund, East Nanjing Road, and Yu Garden. It’s a great spot if you don’t have a lot of time in Shanghai & need to see some highlights.DePLN 540

Our family had a wonderful stay at the Radisson Blu Hotel Shanghai Hyland. You truly cannot beat the location! Right outside the door is Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, making it incredibly easy to step out for shopping and dining with the family. For quick snacks and essentials, there is a very convenient convenience store right on the other side of the property. Plus, the Metro station is only about two blocks away—a very easy, flat, and walkable distance, even if you are managing bags or traveling with kids.
The room itself was spotless and well-maintained. After a long day of walking around Shanghai, we always appreciated coming back to a room where the air conditioning was nice and cool. The bathroom was fully stocked with a complete set of amenities, so we didn't have to worry about missing any essentials.
The daily breakfast buffet offered a great variety to start the morning. There was a fantastic selection of fresh breads, several coffee machines to keep the parents caffeinated, and an impressive mix of local Chinese cuisine and American classics. Tucked away at the end, you'll find the popular egg station, right next to the meatloaves and hot dim sum plus noodles.
There was even a dedicated Korean station, which was a unique touch.
The breakfast food is delicious, but the menu doesn't vary much from day to day. If you are staying for a week or longer like we did, it can feel a bit repetitive. We wished they would rotate the choices a bit more.
Overall, it was a fantastic stay. Between the unbeatable location, clean rooms, and extensive breakfast options, it’s a highly recommended, stress-free base for families visiting Shanghai!DePLN 345

Looking for a holiday getaway to relax, and I was pleasantly surprised that prices didn't increase during the May Day holiday. The hotel's decor has a very Zen-like feel, and the greenery, especially the central area with many peacocks, is lovely. Before checking in, the front desk gives guests a stress test, followed by a welcome singing bowl ceremony. They then recommend workshops based on each person's type, and there's a huge variety! The front desk staff, particularly Cici, was incredibly attentive and helpful. Upon entering the room, a staff member even greeted us with fresh flowers at the elevator, which felt incredibly special. The afternoon tea included in the package was incredibly rich. After yoga in the evening, I returned to my room to find a delicious hot soup, perfect for helping me sleep! There were also traditional Chinese medicine bath sachets for a soak in the evening. Cici was super responsive online, answering any questions instantly, and I was so touched that she was still online at 11 PM! The breakfast buffet was also very extensive. After eating, I even went to do some Tai Chi. It was truly a fulfilling day with so many thoughtful details; the experience was fantastic!DePLN 681

Shanghai Disney Resort Shanghai|21.83km do centro da cidade
How did I not discover this place before when I visited Disney?!
Maybe I just haven't seen enough, but after coming back, I feel like writing a poetic ode to this place.
**Accommodation:** It's located right inside the resort, less than 2km from the park entrance, and offers shuttle services.
The architecture is Japanese style, the rooms are quite spacious, and the outdoor environment is lovely.
**Front Desk Service:** The service was excellent. We arrived a bit late on our first day, and the cafeteria had already stopped serving late-night snacks. A staff member specially drove us to the convenience store at the park entrance to buy some things, then dropped us off at our room. After we put our stuff down, he took us directly to the hot springs. (Newcomers, remember to bring the bathrobes provided in your room! 😂 You can wear them after your hot spring soak).
**Highlights:** The hot springs are Japanese-style, with separate sections for men and women. There are two indoor pools and two outdoor pools, about half a person deep. The water temperature is around 38°C, with the outdoor pools being a bit warmer. Overall, it's not too hot, so you can soak for a longer time. I went during the off-peak season and it was late, so I had the entire pool to myself! 😂 After soaking for a while, an auntie came to ask if I wanted a body scrub. This is a ❗paid❗ service, starting from 168 RMB, so I didn't try it.
After the hot springs, I also went to the sauna, and then showered. The toiletries felt really nice! I got a cup of water from the dispenser, and it was surprisingly sweet. The changing rooms even had Dyson hairdryers and various skincare products. At the exit, there were free drinks, I think it was a choice of Coke, Fanta, or milk.
The hot spring experience was just as good as places specifically for hot springs that cost 300+ RMB; it was very comfortable.
Since we were going to Disney the next morning, we paid extra for breakfast. There were about three long tables. The noodles were delicious, but only a small~ish bowl. This is very convenient for people with smaller appetites.DePLN 453

Hidden in the city, the Japanese Zen garden at Yuyado Hatoniwa offers a DIY perfume blending experience that cures all fatigue.🌿
The serene and elegant Japanese-style space, paired with a tranquil Karesansui (dry landscape) garden, creates an incredible atmosphere. The instructor was gentle and patient, explaining the fragrance layers. With a complete selection of top, middle, and base notes, including woody, floral, fresh tea, and Zen-inspired herbal scents, I slowly blended, let it settle, and sealed my own unique niche perfume.
Every breath was filled with a gentle aroma, instantly soothing away any anxious feelings. Slowing down to experience the fusion of fragrance and Japanese aesthetics, and then blending after a private onsen bath, made the ritual feel perfect. The finished perfume has a subtle and sophisticated scent that lingers, bringing home a full sense of vacation and healing.
The service was thoughtful and meticulous, the environment clean and calming. This immersive incense ceremony experience is so therapeutic, perfect for a getaway with a girlfriend or for some solo downtime. You absolutely must try this romantic perfumery journey at Yuyado Hatoniwa!💛

The hotel room facilities are good, with everything that should be there. The smoking area outside is also very beautiful. The breakfast in the morning is very good, it is self-service, and there are freshly made noodles to eat. If you are thirsty, you can go downstairs at any time to have some drinks and fruits, which are all included in the hotel package. Why the deduction? Like many reviews wrote, the water in the pool here is really too hot. It is the hottest of all the hot springs in Shanghai that I have been to. It feels too hot. I saw that several children could hardly soak in the water for a while. I don’t know why so many people complained. I saw that the management was still saying in the comments that it met the hot spring temperature requirements. What they said is that your water is too hot, and they are giving you suggestions. Everyone in the hot spring said that the water was hot, not that you violated any regulations... It takes talent to reply like thisDePLN 208

I visited Qianyun after looking at dozens of places in the area. I wanted to be away from typical city area, have a bathtub and nice outdoor area, and with easy access to Shanghai Disneyland. Qianyun met all those requirements and more! The location was immediately very serene and surrounded by forest, but still easy to access lots of waimai food delivery options. They were also very kind and proactive about sharing information about local restaurants and activities, and provide a breakfast and evening fruit every day. They offer free car transport to Disneyland, and I was excited to use this service but I ended up enjoying my time at the hotel so much that I opted to stay and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere instead! The hotel pets are so friendly - within five minutes the little cat Banban was on my lap and purring.
The room itself is decorated very nicely with all the amenities you need. The bathtub inside is very comfortable and I loved the outdoor hot spring tub as well. The attention to hygiene is very highly emphasized and I was impressed with how clean and luxurious everything felt.
I will definitely visit again and recommend to anyone hoping to have a convenient getaway from the city, or who would like to be near to Disneyland Resort while also experiencing a more peaceful area and for a good economical value and high quality service!

The location is great, near Jing'an Temple. I've been to Shanghai many times but never visited Jing'an Temple before. This Ritz-Carlton is the first one in China, and although it's older, the facilities are very well-maintained. The room size is smaller than other Ritz-Carltons, but 38 square meters is still perfectly adequate. Personally, I feel the overall style is different from other Ritz-Carltons, more like the Four Seasons in Sydney. The hotel's Western restaurant specializes in Italian cuisine, but the grilled sea bream was covered in chili powder, almost like something a chef from Northeast China would prepare. Honestly, with an apartment complex full of expats right next door, it's hard to believe the restaurant's chef would have such an odd cooking style. It would be too bizarre if it were a troll following me everywhere. During this trip, I ate at the hotel restaurant twice, and both à la carte dishes had chili. After that, I avoided eating at the hotel during my stay, except for the buffet.DePLN 643

The historic Fairmont Peace Hotel, built in 1929 by the British-Jewish businessman Victor Sassoon, holds a special place in history. It's where Chiang Kai-shek and Soong Mei-ling got engaged, and where Lu Xun hosted Charlie Chaplin. Countless celebrities have graced its rooms. Previously, the Peace Hotel comprised both North and South buildings and was once known as the 'First Building in the Far East,' an iconic landmark on the Bund.
I was incredibly fortunate to stay here this time, a truly immersive and delightful experience. Step out, and you're greeted by the architectural wonders of the Bund and the observation deck offering stunning views of Pudong. Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street is right at the doorstep. The location is absolutely superb.
The hotel also houses a small museum, which feels more like an exhibition hall, with regular guided tours. A magnificent glass peace dove with outstretched wings dominates the center of the lobby. Despite its century-old history, the hotel boasts comprehensive and modern facilities. Every corner of the hotel is picturesque, perfect for photos.
All the staff were warm and polite, providing very thoughtful service. However, there was a minor lapse when the concierge staff placed my checked luggage on the floor.
The hotel's ambiance is fantastic. I requested a high-floor room overlooking Nanjing Road during check-in and was assigned a room on the 7th floor, also facing Nanjing Road, which offered excellent views. Lying in bed at night, I could admire the Nanjing Road nightscape. Perfect!
The package also included drinks and snacks at the Cathay Room on the top floor. After discussing with the hotel, we opted to exchange it for a performance at the Jazz Bar. An 80+-year-old jazz band performs there nightly, accompanied by a resident singer. We were given two complimentary drinks – one cocktail and one juice – along with chicken wings and peanuts. Listening to jazz, enjoying a drink, and munching on snacks was pure bliss.
The room perfectly blends classic and modern styles, with comprehensive amenities. The bathroom was huge, and there was a walk-in closet and a very large bathtub. The bed was super-sized, with soft and comfortable bedding. The room was spotlessly clean, and the toiletries were all high-quality. Before we returned to the room in the evening, the staff had already prepared it for bedtime.
Welcome fruits and exquisite chocolates were also thoughtfully provided in the room. They were so beautiful, I almost didn't want to eat them! The in-room coffee bar offers complimentary coffee, while the mini-bar items are chargeable.
After enjoying the jazz, returning to the room for a relaxing shower and a good night's sleep was simply wonderful. So happy!
Breakfast was served at the Jasmine Restaurant on the first floor. The East-meets-West buffet offered an incredibly rich selection, with what felt like nearly a hundred different dishes. There was so much food, I almost couldn't try everything. Upon being seated, the server brought a cup of coffee and a pot of tea. In the end, I piled my table high with food and savored each bite. I ate so much I could barely walk out – utterly satisfying!

While the room's facilities were a bit dated, the cleanliness was still very good. Overall, I'm satisfied.DePLN 764

Wujiaochang Commercial Area Shanghai|9.08km do centro da cidade
Coming to Shanghai, I specifically chose the Pagoda Hotel (Fudan University, Shanghai Branch) that I've been eyeing for a while. I booked the Deluxe Family Twin Room for four people, and the experience truly exceeded my expectations!
First of all, the hotel's location is fantastic! It's right in the Wujiaochang business district and KIC (Knowledge Innovation Community), next to University Road, which has a ton of trendy restaurants and cafes. In the evening, we went to a folk bar nearby, and it was a wonderful experience. It's also super close to Fudan University; we even took a walk on campus in the morning, which was lovely.
Back in the room, it was incredibly spacious, absolutely not cramped for a family of four. There were two large beds, plus a tatami mat that could be used for sitting or lying down. We had tea and snacks on it during the day, and there was plenty of space to move around. The smart room control system was so convenient; a simple voice command could open or close the curtains and turn the lights on or off. Through the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, we had an unobstructed view of Wujiaochang's city skyline, which was truly expansive.
The hotel's service was also excellent. The front desk staff were very welcoming, and the butler even asked about our accommodation preferences in advance. There's also a free self-service late-night snack bar after 9 PM, which was a pleasant surprise! The mini-bar was complimentary, and all the in-room amenities were well-stocked. Plus, food deliveries were brought up by a robot, which was both convenient and private. The hotel also has a gym and a laundry room, which is incredibly thoughtful for families with children, allowing us to wash and dry clothes anytime.
Finally, a quick reminder: hotels in Shanghai typically don't proactively provide disposable toothbrushes, but you can always ask the front desk if you need one. However, this is a minor detail, and overall, this Pagoda is definitely worth recommending, especially for family trips – you can't go wrong with it!DePLN 288

Hongqiao Airport/National Exhibition and Convention Center Shanghai|15.59km do centro da cidade
I stayed at the Hyatt House Shanghai Hongqiao CBD and found it to be a very solid choice, especially for business travel. The location is excellent, situated directly opposite the railway station and the airport, which makes onward travel extremely convenient.
The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, providing everything needed for a short business stay. The staff are friendly, helpful, and efficient, which adds to the overall positive experience. Breakfast is perfectly adequate and does the job well.
For business trips in particular, or if you need to continue your journey by train the next day as I did, this hotel is a very convenient and comfortable option. Overall, I had a good stay and can definitely recommend it.DePLN 272

Everbright Convention and Exhibition Center Shanghai|12.35km do centro da cidade
The room is more suited for young people, and the cleanliness is pretty good. The communal area downstairs at night is excellent for working. The front desk staff was also nice, promptly getting me a bottle of water when I was thirsty. When checking out, I needed to go to the North Bund for business and didn't want to come back for my luggage. Unfortunately, when I asked the front desk if they offered a luggage delivery service, they weren't clear and said no. For a major city like Shanghai, there really should be more diverse services to make travel easier for us.DePLN 126
