Before booking, I read the negative reviews, which were mostly complaints about the service. After staying, I felt like this hotel was one giant obedience test. Upon entering the room, I noticed a strong smell from the air conditioning ducts. I picked up the phone and dialed 'one touch.' The operator transferred me to the front desk, who said they would get back to me shortly. 'Shortly' meant I had to call again to get any kind of answer. After changing rooms, the next day my room card stopped working. That's when I understood why there was a phone in the hallway. After calling, they said an auntie would come to help open the door. Ten minutes later, the auntie finally arrived. After opening the door, she said a concierge would bring a new room card later. Well, it never arrived within two hours. Eventually, when I went to pick up my takeout, I had to go to the front desk myself to get a new one. The tissues in the room ran out. The auntie replaced them with new ones, but just left the new pack on top of the tissue box instead of putting them inside. I don't understand that. There was a short black hair in the bathtub... The mini-bar was completely empty on the first night, possibly due to the room change. At breakfast, I opened a Chinese steamed dim sum, and there was a black hair inside... Breakfast ended at 10:30 AM, and many guests came at 10:35 AM to get coffee, but it was all gone...

I've stayed at Ascott many times, and it's consistently excellent in all aspects. The rooms are incredibly spacious, and the amenities like the fridge and washing machine are all fully equipped. The environment is also very quiet; you barely hear any noise. It's super convenient for dining and drinks, with plenty of restaurants nearby. There's also Xiao Taihou Park close by, and it's not far from the subway station – about a 10-minute scooter ride.

Now, when I come to Beijing, I only like staying here. There's a sense of reassurance, especially with the service staff from the lobby to the rooms; they always make me feel at ease. It's also very convenient for getting around and doing business. Truly excellent.

At ~RMB600 per night, including breakfast, during the low season, this 5 star hotel offers excellent value for money. **The good points:** - The shuttle bus driver was very polite and helpful, and assisted us with our luggage. - The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. - The room was very clean, with high ceilings that made it feel spacious. **The biggest disappointment was definitely the breakfast.** We paid an extra RMB 100 per person to have breakfast included, but honestly, it was one of the worst breakfasts I have ever experienced at a five-star hotel. The fried eggs were all prepared in advance and left out on display, and for some reason, they were placed on top of slices of bread. The drinks were not refilled for over an hour, even after they had run out. Nobody came to clear our used plates, so by the end of breakfast, our table was completely covered with plates and glasses. Meanwhile, the staff were just standing nearby chatting with each other. And overall, the food does not taste good. **Another issue was the air conditioning.** The room felt rather stuffy, and the air conditioning was not powerful enough. I had already set it to the lowest temperature (16°C) and the highest fan speed, but the room temperature displayed remained at 22°C throughout our stay. In reality, it felt even warmer than that. On the positive side, the windows could be opened to let in some fresh air. However, doing so meant having to put up with considerable noise from passing cars and aircraft. Overall, the hotel offers great value for money during the low season, especially considering the room quality and friendly front desk service. However, the breakfast experience was far below what I would expect from a five-star hotel.

The moment I stepped into the hotel, I felt great; a new renovation really makes a difference. The facilities and layout are very well-designed, and there's even a garment steamer. The slippers also look to be of good quality. The mineral water comes in cans. However, during our stay on the 10th floor, the water pressure was very low, and there was hair in the bathroom that hadn't been cleaned, which was a real letdown. The view of Universal Studios was spoiled by a large board. Although we didn't get to experience the starlit pool and rooftop bar, they looked promising. Now, a complaint about the hotel's shuttle bus service. I suspect it's a partnership with an external company because the tour guide's marketing pitch was incredibly pushy. They started by creating anxiety, claiming you'd waste time getting lost if you went on your own, and that you'd get soaked at the water park. They tried to sell us park tour services, raincoats, and even magic wands – a real multi-pronged approach. Later, during the hotel's follow-up call, after I mentioned the bathroom issue, they offered a room upgrade for a future stay. But who knows when that 'next time' will be? It felt insincere.

I had a very relaxing vacation at this resort, and the overall experience truly exceeded my expectations. The check-in process was smooth, and the room felt comfortable from the moment I stepped in. The cleanliness was impeccable, the bedding was clean and cozy, and all the facilities were well-maintained, making for a great stay. The resort offers a wide variety of activities, perfect for both adults looking to relax and children wanting to play. There's never a dull moment throughout the day, with dining, entertainment, and activities all conveniently arranged in one place. I especially want to commend Suna's service. Whenever I had any questions or requests, she responded promptly. She was meticulous and patient, always considering things from the guest's perspective and handling issues efficiently and effectively. Her friendly and professional attitude made me feel very much at ease. I thoroughly enjoyed my entire vacation. The experience across the board was excellent, offering great value for money. It's highly recommended for family trips or friends traveling together. I've already recommended it to my friends and family who are planning trips, and I'll definitely be back when I have the chance.

The room was pretty good. Even though it was a crowded National Day holiday, the service remained excellent. The hot water supply was also great, which is something many people care about, so you can rest assured. The breakfast suited my taste. Overall, the service was consistently good. Next time, I might suggest trying the executive lounge; the view is lovely. I've stayed at most of the hotels in this area before, and I feel this one still meets the expectations for its price point.

I came to Beijing for Zhou Shen's concert at the Bird's Nest and wanted to visit the Forbidden City, so I chose the relatively close Mandarin Oriental Wangfujing Beijing. The hardware facilities and service were, as expected, impeccable. What truly surprised me was that Tina and William from the front office discreetly prepared photos of Zhou Shen – and even framed them! Zhou Shen was wearing his new 'bunny' outfit from the concert. I was incredibly touched; it shows how dedicated the hotel is to its guests, making you feel right at home. I left in a hurry and forgot to ask who wrote the little card; not only was it clever, but the handwriting was beautiful too. The complimentary daily teas from the hotel were also delicious and always different. From now on, when I visit Beijing, I'll definitely stay at your hotel! My sincere thanks to all the hotel staff for their excellent service, and I wish everyone a Happy Mid-Autumn Festival again. May the hotel's business prosper and everyone's endeavors be successful!

As a five-star hotel, it absolutely delivered on luxury, making for an excellent experience. I have to praise the location – it's incredibly convenient for getting anywhere. You can walk to Metro Lines 1 and 10, so getting around is a breeze. Step out of the hotel and turn left, and within 50 meters, you're at a mall with so many shopping and dining options you'll be spoiled for choice. All your retail and food cravings are easily met! The room was an even bigger surprise. It was exceptionally spacious, bright, and well-lit. The floor-to-ceiling window offered an amazing view, and it was incredibly comfortable just lying there and enjoying the scenery. The facilities were comprehensive, and the pillows and mattress were perfectly comfortable – I slept like a baby, straight through till morning. It was incredibly refreshing. Breakfast also deserves a mention. There was a rich variety of both Chinese and Western options, so many choices that I was satisfied every morning. The staff were consistently warm and polite, always thinking of the guests' needs. Their service was incredibly thoughtful, and I have to give them a big thumbs up! I had such a pleasant stay these past few days. I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit!

Overall, the hotel is comfortable, spacious, and a nice choice if you want a relaxing stay away from the busiest parts of central Beijing. 🛏️ Comfortable Rooms & Great Beds One of the things we enjoyed most was the room. The bed was very comfortable, making it easy to get a good night's sleep after a long day. Many of the rooms also have bathtubs, which is a really nice touch if you enjoy having a relaxing bath during your stay. The rooms felt spacious and comfortable, and overall the hotel has a pleasant, upscale atmosphere. 🥐 Breakfast Buffet Is Worth Trying I would definitely recommend the breakfast buffet. There was a good variety of food, making it easy to find something whether you prefer Chinese or Western-style breakfast. If breakfast is included with your stay, I would definitely take advantage of it. 🌳 Beautiful Surroundings for Walking Another highlight is the area around the hotel. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful paths and greenery, which makes it really enjoyable to go for a walk. It gives the hotel a peaceful and relaxing feeling, especially compared with staying in a busy city-center area. 🍽️ Restaurant Experience Needs Improvement Unfortunately, our experience at the hotel's restaurant was not nearly as good as our experience with the hotel and rooms. There were many empty tables, but the restaurant lights were not even fully turned on, which made the atmosphere feel strangely dark and unwelcoming. When we were seated, the table was still dirty and they only started cleaning it after we sat down. Another small but inconvenient detail was that we were given only one menu even though there were two of us. It would have been much more convenient to have two menus, especially when there were plenty of empty seats and tables available. ☕ Café: Very Disappointing Value The café was probably the biggest disappointment for us. An Americano costs around ¥38, which would be understandable if it were a larger or particularly special coffee, but the cup was extremely small. For ¥38, the portion felt far too small, and honestly, the price-to-value ratio was disappointing. This is definitely one area where I think the hotel could improve. ⭐ Overall Despite the issues with the restaurant and café, we still enjoyed our stay. The hotel itself is comfortable, the beds are great, many rooms have bathtubs, the breakfast buffet is worth trying, and the beautiful walking paths around the property are a big plus. I would happily recommend the hotel for the accommodation itself, especially if you value a comfortable room and a peaceful environment. I just hope the restaurant service, cleanliness, lighting, and café pricing can be improved because these details don't really match the otherwise nice experience of the hotel.
