A very nice hotel with an awesome price value ratio. They also have a free shuttle every 30 minutes to their own beach club with a great restaurant and a very beautiful beach. Well come back for sure.

On the whole it was a good experience. However I have been to this hotel several times but this time the food and restaurant service really disappointed me. The beach restaurant was not coping and in two separate occasions I had to wait over 1 hour to get served. They delivered the food as it came out of the kitchen and everyone had their meals at different times. On the second occasion, I waited for an hour and a half to get served very expensive lettuce with some fish. Even though the restaurant was almost empty. The staff should be honest and tell people they cannot cope for whatever reason and let customers go somewhere else. The staff just shrugged their shoulders when I raised my request of food. Perhaps this is the time to look for other hotels in the area.
Hotel was very well maintained and well located within walking distance to many good sites, restaurants and cafes. It was nice to relax by the pool as well. Beautiful courtyard for breakfast or meeting during the day. Late checkout (1pm) was no problem and it was easy to get a taxi to the airport.
We visited Oaxaca City in September, 2025, and stayed for a week at La Catrina de Alcalá. We had a King room towards the back of the building. The room was large with plenty of room to store all of our items (clothes, toiletries, backpacks, umbrellas, etc.) and was very quiet. The bedding was comfortable and the room was very clean. The staff were all very helpful and kind. The included breakfast was continental, so we ordered off the menu a couple of times. All the food was delicious and fresh. I especially enjoyed the Chicken Mole Tamale. Finally, the location was perfect! The hotel is located on a pedestrian only street in the heart of the city. We were able to walk everywhere! We would definitely recommend this hotel and will return on our next trip to Oaxaca City.
Very friendly staff all around and most can speak a little English so language has not been a problem. Room is nice and big with big comfy bed. However I did find the walls/doors not very sound proof. If you had a very loud talking neighbor, you can hear the conversation clearly. I find the food and drinks just fine unlike some of the reviews. Typical all inclusive food fanfare. Remeber, this is not Michelin or 5 star resort, so adjust expectation accordingly. There are nightly shows at the sister hotel 6 mins walk away. Again adjust expectations accordingly and you'll have a good time
Villas Coral is a wonderful holiday destination for good a week. Whoever doesn't matter that the beach is walking about 7 minutes from the hotel and the sea can enjoy only by view is very well served here. The food in the restaurant ”Miramar” is super tasteful and is really priceable, compared to other hotels! We had a few language barriers with the hotel staff, but they try the best to meet all wishes. The plant was cleaned and maintained daily. We had a wonderful time there and will, when we come back in the direction, certainly pass again!
The Hotel Cantera Real provides a great place for travelers to relax after a busy day. The Hotel Cantera Real offers a pleasant stay in Oaxaca for those traveling for business or leisure. The hotel offers easy access to Oaxaca International Airport, just 9km away. Keeping busy is easy, with Santo Domingo Square, Ex Convento de San Pablo and Photographic Center Manuel Alvaro Bravo all nearby. After a long day of sightseeing, guests can retire to the comfort of the hotel.

GGuest UserThe location was spectacular, away from the tourists area. Is a boutique and private hotel with personalize attention. The facilities are amazing and the restaurant is run by an awarded chef Luis García. Great place to spent some days of relax and just enjoy the sea with great food.
