I love this camp.
the location is easy to travel to any other tourist spot , it is on the opposit conor of aso station, there is Lawson on the opposit as well. The camp is lovely both interior or exterior, the living room, the toilet, the shower are clean, the kitchen is lovely you can cook but you have ro clean them by yourself. The room are cheap but very clean.the staff are so nice.
If I visit aso I will stay at this hotel again.

위치 자체는 차가 아니면 사실상 가기 어려움. 주차는 숙소 전용으로 있어서 편함. 숙소 주변 분위기 매우 흡족. 다만, 료칸에서 수건부터 유카타까지 모두 대여 필요. 조식은 조촐함. 근처에 무료로 유황지옥찜 이용할 수 있는 곳 있어서, 숙소에서 계란만 구매해서 해먹을 수 있음! (계란 50엔) 다른 유황작물도 만들고 싶으면 가능! 탕은 1개밖에 안된다고 해서 아쉬웠고, 물도 특별한 느낌은 없었음.

There is no toilet in the room for the economy bed! You have to go outside. The overall hygiene is OK. It is not a central air conditioner. The air from the air conditioner is a bit damp and there is dust on the air outlet.
The hotel's bathhouse is quite comfortable, and the transportation is convenient. Almost all buses from the bus terminal can arrive at one stop.
If you don't pursue comfort, the cost performance is quite high

I think it was the biggest disappointment so far. The hotel is fine if you stay for one night. But more — I doubt it. For example, it is mandatory to leave at 10:00 even if you stay for more than one night. You can pay 1500 yen, but it literally gives you nothing. You can’t use sauna and sento. You received no additional service or amenities. Even sleeping is hard — the staff changes sheets. Next, people actually live in this capsule hotel. It means they get up very early, loud, alarm clocks, etc. Finally, the locker room is super tiny. There is little space. No benches. Definitely will not stay again.
Good sides — the staff is polite, and you can store your luggage at the counter. Actually, you must, but people still carry their luggage upstairs.

It’s a good private house.
But I’m won’t recommend if weather is cold or raining, or if you’re traveling with young kids.
I travelled with my family with two toddlers.
The bath and onsen are outdoors, not quite well lit and not well covered.
The hot water water pressure is low, and the water is either very hot or very cold.
It was a cold, raining and windy that night.
It was a horrible experience for us because of the above, and the kids had a lot of trouble taking a bath. And we were worried they might catch a cold.
And strangely the door lock of the bath is locked from the outside and not from the inside.
Also remember to buy food before entering.
We bought ours and cooked our own dinner.
Otherwise, it’s a good private house, probably best for adults.

Que experiência!Muito Feliz que passemos UMA noite Neste Lugar único, o pessoal FOI extremamente útil e amável.
As quartos são muito decentes, considerando que é um velho comboio de dormir. Lembre-se que as quartos são Muito estreitas, não há espaço para manter a bagagem Na sala.
E as outras instalações (badejo, sala comum) não são abundantes, mas limpas e muito suficientes para passar a noite.

A Pessoa Na recepção é Muito educada. Eu gosto dela. O quarto é Muito limpo e bonito! Pobres instalações são um pouco pequenas, MAS o preço é barato, então não há maneira.O Centro de ônibus está perto Da Cidade, e andar para a Rua do restaurante é Muito conveniente.

Fiquei em um quarto individual. É permitido fumar, mas não havia cheiro de cigarro e o espaço era muito limpo e confortável.
Como se trata de um hotel para viajantes a negócios, todas as comodidades necessárias foram fornecidas (geladeira, chaleira elétrica, secador de cabelo, toalhas, escova de dentes, etc.), o que tornou minha estadia confortável.
O micro-ondas fica ao lado do elevador no primeiro andar, então é preciso descer toda vez que for usá-lo. O elevador também é muito estreito e comporta apenas 1 ou 2 pessoas, portanto, tenha cuidado se você for grande, tiver muita bagagem ou estiver viajando em grupo.
O ar-condicionado era central e não era possível ajustar a temperatura individualmente.
Os funcionários foram simpáticos e prestativos, deixando uma ótima impressão.

GGuest UserThe photos I saw when I booked this hot spring ryokan online seemed like nothing, but when I came here it was two completely different views. The hot spring in the room is very comfortable, the room is very clean, the environment is very quiet. This time it was one stay and two meals, the food was delicious, you can see the attentiveness of this hot spring inn, each food is small and tastes good.
The staff who checked us in was very attentive and explained very clearly, the service was very good. The attitude of the restaurant's staff is also 10% satisfactory. I want this hostel from Aso Volcano, definitely a good choice.

GGuest UserDespite our language barrier, the owner loves conversing with people, which is why he decided to open his guesthouse. He even recommended a little path that shows a great sunrise. I was greeted with some deers hopping in the distance at 6.30am. Truly magical and breathtaking. This is THE place for solo travellers. There’s a saying that it’s the people that makes the trip enjoyable and this place is proof. He charges for accommodation cheaply but offers beyond the cost, within his means happily. He loves anime like Attack on Titan and has watched Laputa 21 times. His hobbies include biking, hiking and has hiked Mt Kuju several times, Mt Aso too. He travelled to Vietnam Cambodia and Thailand solo trip too, and wants to do it again 3 years later.
As my first time doing solo travelling, I couldn't be luckier than this to have met this wonderful host. I would say so far, my time spent in Kurokawa Onsen and together with the host is my whole trip’s highlight. I felt very safe and comfortable in this living space and truly enjoyed the nature surrounding it as well. I love the location of the guesthouse because I love walking and hiking. The main area of Kurokawa Onsen is quite a walk itself, so walking to the guesthouse was just extra leisure for me. Just make sure to follow google maps and the various sign boards he’s put up along the way! He offers a ride back and forth at 8.10am and 5pm to the main area anyway and to the supermarket if needed, very generous of him! Make sure to not be shy and chit-chat a lot with him! It was so much fun.
The room was very cozy and with the 6 beds arranged, an extra 100 yen per night for the heater is totally reasonable to me! it felt like I was back to school and enjoyed the cleanliness and casualness of everything. Damn, this place has great interior design too. The lights have motion sensors, pretty cool! He also has his own little beautiful hot spring which you should pay extra if you want to bathe at night. Personally did not find the need after bathing at the town haha.
Thank you for the comfort of home and lovely company!! I hope many people who enjoy company and nature stay here!! Highly recommended for at least 2 nights! The onsens are all very good and beautiful. I want to come again.

EEleonora Del BianchiI have been staying in very special places in Japan: beautiful locations with lots of care and details but this one is my favorite so far!
Yoshi and Myong made me feel super welcomed, comfy and happy in their guesthouse. I arrived with a BIG LUGAGGE which was right away taken up by Yoshi (thank you so much!!!) and when I left he reminded me I could ask for his help if I needed (which I did).
I like to ”judge” a place by the comfiness of their sofas, and Aso Base delivered superb excellency! So many cozy corners, there's not even one futon that is not hyper soft!
The bathrooms have some themes on the wall, one is the cat theme, another one jellyfish and the other is lizards, so I had fun time choosing what theme I would go to. The shower capsules have shampoo conditioner and soap and then an area to dry your hair with a great view!
There's details that are just piece of art! A small corner with a table, cd player and CDs that are awesome- Japanese, international and relax music and audiobooks! I've searched many of them in Spotify and will keep listening. While you are listening there are some images, like a collage, and it's so well thought. Every image has a doll representing it live action as well, like dreams coming true.
The kitchen is reeeeaallly equipped, drinking water at the tap and has lots of seasonings and teapots 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
There's extra blankets and pillows and some of the pillows are animal shaped 😺🐶🐷🐑 so during my four nights there I slept in the company of Mr Snuggles, a grey cat that smiled with his eyes closed - there was pinky pig and hairy sheep too!
in the female dorm every bed has a blue sky wallpaper like in Toy Story!!!! 🥹
I was a bit worried because the comments say there's lots of rules and that they are strict and don't open the door for people in the rain. But the thing is: there are some rules, because they are two people (+ another lady who helps with cleaning) taking care of a big house. It needs some organization and routines.
They provide storage and the area has great options to enjoy while waiting - if necessary. Is a small town, many great restaurants around - the shop right next to the station that sells local products is a must trying repeatedly, the best onsen in the region is 3 minutes away, a Lawson across the street.
I greatly enjoyed my time in Aso and everyday was glad to be going back to Aso Base. It is a place to come with a light and warm heart and soul ( they will certainly retribute), where you can have great conversations, play games or read a book, cozily nested and drinking tea while the fireplace and many lighting create a whole vibe.
I've booked 4 nights and wish they were 8!

GGuest UserI honestly do not know where to start, I booked the hotel without really knowing much about Kumamoto Prefecture. After arriving in Kumamoto City and then realising Ueki Onsen is another 40 minute bus ride I was thinking oh dear where am I staying. After arriving at the hotel I was greeted by the manager of the hotel who showed me to my room and gave me a tour of the facilities. Once settled in I realised there isn't great public transport around and I primarily wanted to see Beppu and Yufuin during my stay, I enquired with the manager on where I might be able to rent a car, with little to no Japanese language under my belt he took it upon himself to reserve a vehicle for me and offered to drive me himself to collect it. He then also said he would take me back to return it a few days later. After my trips to Beppu and Yufui village (Not to be missed) and not to miss the outstanding and beautiful surroundings in Uekimachi and the Aso region. The manager and I set off to return my hire car, on the way back he took me to Kikuchi shrine to pray and also gifted me coffee and cake. They also accommodated me with use of the on site onsen (amazing) after hours as I'm heavily tattooed. I feel truly grateful to have found this hidden gem of rural Japan and if you are thinking of traveling this great country I emplore you to go off the beaten path. I experienced untold kindness during my stay and have memories of a life time. Thank you so much guys

GGuest UserThe place was spotless and our room had two twin beds, a kitchenette, and the toilet space was modern and sparkling. What made this the best was its location on a little beach surrounded by mountains. Lots of parking for the cars (you have to drive there as it is remote) and the proprieters went above and beyond to give us a map of the area in English with notes telling us where cherry blossoms were blooming at that time and other things. Every day when we returned to the room there was a basket by the door with refreshed supplies. Our room had everything you needed to cook as well as a little table. You have to bring food from Amakusa City as there is no place to shop nearby but once you are there it is totally worth it. There is also plenty of picnic table style seating on the front patio of the rest house. We did not use them but they had stand-up paddleboards, snorkle gear, etc. The sound of the waves and lots of places to hike nearby were amazing.

JJackieXThe hot spring hotel in Kurogawa was not booked, and Trip.com chose a holiday house in the nearby Tibetan hot spring. Arrive before 6 o'clock, otherwise the staff will get off work. The house is very old, the name is ”Mei”, and the other house is a very new one and should be much more comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped; The indoor hot spring is very hot, you have to try the temperature before entering the water. The towels are small and you have to bring your own bath towels.

GGuest UserI went to this hotel because it was recommended by Gunji Yong, the president of the Japanese Hot Spring Research Association, in the book ”Going to Japan to Soak in Hot Springs”. I drove a long way to the hotel and found that it was worth it.
1. The original hotel was damaged in the Kumamoto earthquake and is now rebuilt. The main building we stayed in was built in the style of that year. Many original wooden components were used in it. The new and old are mixed, and the color difference is obvious, but it also has a unique flavor. The key is that because it is new, it does not have the ”old-fashioned” feeling of many Japanese hot spring hotels.
2. The facilities and furniture of the house have been heavily invested and are of high quality. The main lamp in the bedroom is a fishing lamp from FLOS in Italy, the stool in front of the washbasin is a shoemaker stool from WERNER in Denmark, and the butterfly stool on the balcony is a butterfly stool from Tendo Carpentry. The chairs placed in the public areas of the hotel are also masterpieces of masters. Interestingly, they are not out of place in traditional Japanese hotels.
3. As a hot spring lover, of course, I came here for the hot springs. As a hotel with a source of hot springs, the hot springs are fresh and of good quality. The hotel has men's and women's baths, both of which have indoor and outdoor pools. Interestingly, the men's and women's baths are switched in the morning and evening, so that guests can soak in both baths and four pools in one day. The outdoor bath is on the hillside, which is full of unknown small petals.
4. What's more exciting is that the hotel also has mixed bathing, of course, it is a less difficult and easy way to accept. The hotel will issue yukata, and the locker room is also separated for men and women. There are three pools for mixed bathing, one of which is a cold spring, which is quite enjoyable. When taking a mixed bath, the spring is right next to it, with white smoke.
5. The hotel has one night and two meals, and the two meals are also impressive. In addition to the appetizer, main course and dessert for dinner, the main character is venison hot pot. I have never eaten venison. The meat looks very thin, but I didn't expect it to be very tender and there is no peculiar smell. The dipping sauce is only crushed black pepper and chili. The store recommends dipping black pepper, which is really delicious. When it was time to eat, the handsome boy who could speak fluent English directly brought the rice pot over and showed us a piece of binchotan charcoal lying in the rice. We were surprised, and the handsome boy said proudly: Your money deserves it. There was not a drop of oil in the hot pot and the dipping sauce. After eating a meal, I was full but not greasy.
6. Breakfast is also interesting. The flap in the middle of the dining table is opened, which is a long charcoal stove. It is obviously an improved version of the ground stove barbecue. Many breakfast foods can be grilled on it, and there is even a small iron plate for frying eggs. The vegetable and fruit juices for breakfast are all freshly made one by one. The milk and yogurt for breakfast are all produced by Abe Ranch, and they are of the highest quality. For example, the fresh milk is Aso purple cover.
7. There are countless surprises and surprises when staying in this hotel. It rained in the morning, and the wind was strong and the rain was heavy. I went out and picked up an umbrella at the door. GGuest UserThe hotel room was very spacious and clean. Our room faced the east and just next to the sea, so we could watch the sunset with sea view; it was very beautiful!
There are men & women salt baths available for guests on the ground floor. There are ample car parking lots.
Had breakfast just next to the sea! The spread was quite good with salad, rice, few local dishes, fish, soup, natto, etc. Dinner set meals with fish/sashimi were really fresh and delicious.
We had a peaceful and happy stay. Staff were friendly, attentive and warm too. I was surprised to receive a souvenir when I check out!

LLisaSpWe had a wonderful stay at the Power Spot Campsite. The owner was super friendly and helpfull. He helped us with all of our questions and gave us some great recommandations.
We arrived on a rainy day with our bicycles and were so happy about the cozy tiny wooden house and a warm shower. We had an amazing view of the mountains and the shrine and it was even possible to make a campfire infront of the little house. It is a magical place. Also there are many cute and friendly cats. We would defenetly visit again!
