This was my first and only stay at a ryokan so I don’t have much to compare it to. I chose this lodging because of the cats and good reviews on the food. The cats were really sweet and I enjoyed playing with them. I have 2 cats of my own so it was really nice. The food was so beautiful and delicious - the mushroom soup at dinner was amazing. I really enjoyed it. The private bath rooms were very convenient and open 24 hrs. I thought the facilities were clean and very pleasant. The location was very close to the central area and a quick walk to all the important sites including the bus station. The only comment I have was in the morning someone was smoking and the smell got ****** into the 2nd floor hallway so maybe more care should be taken to be sure the smoke stays outside. The host was so nice and sweet and I used google translate to ask questions. The matcha madeleines are so tasty I bought a box to take with me.

It was better than any other inn I've stayed at so far. The futons were fluffy, the bathroom was clean, and the breakfast was full of vegetables. It was the best inn. I was surprised more than anything by how nice the people were.

Wow this place is INCREDIBLE I have no idea how it doesn't have SO many more reviews. This ryokan has literally the sweetest people, absolutely beautiful onsens, and YUMMY food. The room itself is very spacious and has it's own private view into a garden, and it has it's own A/C unit you can use - it's also very clean and included a full set of teas and snacks. The shared outdoor and indoor onsens are absolutely gorgeous, and overlook mountains in the distance. I went to 10+ onsens in Japan and this was the best hands down - beautiful with those mountain views, and extremely clean. The food was also so delicious, and I felt stuffed after every breakfast and dinner. I super highly recommend this place!

駅近で周辺に食事出来る所たくさんありました。高崎駅近くのホテル探しましたがインバウンドの影響？か週末シングル10000円↑の所ばかりでこちらのSuzuya Hotelに決めました。他のレビューでウォシュレットがないというの見ましたがやはりあったらいいなと思いました。漫画がたくさんあり一人で滞在するには良かったです。

His home is a 1-minute walk from the bus station, and it will not be very tired to go up and down, let alone ask the hotel to drive to pick it up. According to these circumstances, it is okay to give 4 points, but I don't recommend everyone to live, because this house has hidden charges, and in winter it will charge 500 warm house fee and 150 hot spring water tax. There is no mention on the booking page. If the hot spring tax is not unfamiliar to people who frequent Japan, what is called the warm house fee is very strange. Communicate with the store. A very unique ryokan experience at Kusatsu. I've never seen wooden floors that shiny. The room is LARGE. Plenty of space that is also partitioned, and can sleep up to 6. There's a toilet in the room, but no shower. They've got a top notch onsen bath downstairs. The hotel staff were kind and used a translator to communicate with us. Location wise, it is very good. It's near enough to the Yubatake. Like 1 min walk away. But it's away from the noise and crowd and sulphur fumes. The perfect choice for guests who like to go back to the hotel for a short rest and come back out again

Wow! What a wonderful place, and wonderful people! I loved the view of the green rice fields out of my window, with a beautiful mountainous background. My room was great, clean and organized, had everything I needed. Location wise it takes about 10-15 minutes to get to the train station or to a nearby seven eleven. The train schedule is quite sparse, so time it correctly. (Or rent a car, would be the easiest) The hosts were extremely nice! Helped me in any way they could’ve for example in my checkout day, it was raining heavily so they gave me a ride to the station.

A little old but solid building with facilities. Originally for national public servants? I stayed as a visitor at the facility. It may be unavoidable because it is a visitor, but the meal was a room meal. The food was very delicious. We recommend a small family bath next to the large communal bath. Maybe it's a free-flowing bath.

I didn't realize it because I went by car, but Shibukawa Station is right nearby! There's also a convenience store nearby and a ramen place right next to the hotel that's open late! First of all, the hotel staff were so kind! One thing that was really disappointing... ㅠ It's not very clean.. The remote control fell under the bed, so I turned on the flashlight on my phone and checked, and it was so dusty that it looked like the vacuum cleaner hadn't been used in years, so I spent 2 nights without the remote control... ㅋㅋㅋ The blanket was also really old..
