GGuest UserComing to Guangzhou for the winter holiday, the weather was absolutely perfect, around 20 degrees Celsius, mild and comfortable. We stayed in a family suite at Chimelong Hotel, which was ideal for our family of four. The biggest highlight was definitely the spacious bathroom, complete with a bathtub. You could soak in the tub while someone else showered without any inconvenience. There was also a balcony right outside the bathroom, and even a shower on the balcony itself (can you believe it?). If it weren't so cold, I would have loved to try showering outside!
The hotel truly lives up to its reputation as a family-friendly hotel. The room décor had a lovely family theme, the TV was disguised as a camera, and the bedsides were all soft-padded. They even provided 'Dou Shou Qi' (animal chess) and children's books, which the kids loved. The beds were super comfortable, and we slept soundly through the night!
The hotel's buffet was also good, with a wide variety of dishes. The biggest draw was being able to eat while watching flocks of flamingos and, occasionally, white tigers eating chicken legs. Sitting there, with a large white tiger casually lounging nearby, was truly a unique experience. It was a bit pricey, but there wasn't much else to eat within the park. Delivery scooters aren't allowed in the park, so you either have to pick up your food at the park entrance or find someone to deliver it for you, which isn't very convenient. However, since we were already paying several thousand yuan a night for the room, a few hundred for the buffet wasn't a big deal! The buffet breakfast gets very crowded, so if you're in a hurry, it's best to go before 7:30 AM.
There were so many families with kids visiting during the winter break! If you want to experience all three theme parks, it's best to plan for two full days. We arrived around 11 AM on the first day, just in time for peak check-in. We had to queue to store our luggage (check-in wasn't until 3 PM) and then queue again to check-in. By the time we entered Chimelong Paradise, it was past 12 PM, and every major ride had a queue of about 50 minutes. We definitely couldn't finish everything in one afternoon. If you're planning to watch the 8 PM Grand Circus (if you have standard tickets), it’s best to head to the rides near the north gate of Chimelong Paradise around 6 PM, and then immediately go to the circus entrance to queue. Standard tickets don't have assigned seating, so getting in early is the only way to snatch front-row seats.
You'll also need a full day for the Safari Park, otherwise, you won't be able to see everything. If you plan to visit the Birds Park on the third day, it only opens at 9:30 AM. Although it's not huge, it still takes about half a day to explore. So, if you're flying back the same day, it's best to book a flight after 4 PM, otherwise, you'll definitely be cutting it too close.
