"The hotel is at the sixth floor of a building inside a compound. The check-in process was very smooth. The location is a bit far away from the main attractions but is close to the train station, and the view from the room is amazing. It is a pity that our stay was so short, but for us it is was a pleasure to have our breakfast delivered to our building with ******* and enjoy it in our room with the nice view. The service was very nice connecting us with a driver for the day, and offering tips around the area. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel."

"The room was so clean and completely renovated. The location was great. The reception helped find the visiting places. When you are booking the hotel via this APP, make sure the information is updated! For the room I booked it was written that the room has a lake view but unfortunately, when I got my room it had a building view! I contacted “customer service”, and they gave me some “coins” in the APP as compensation. I will choose this hotel again if I travel to Dali."

"Had a wonderful stay at Mengling Yayuan Hotel in Dali from 19 to 21 December 2025. The staff were exceptionally attentive and went out of their way to make my visit memorable—from a smooth check-in to thoughtful local recommendations, their hospitality truly stood out. The room was spacious, elegantly decorated, and equipped with modern amenities that made the stay both comfortable and convenient. I especially enjoyed the daily local breakfast options of noodles or congee, the relaxing afternoon tea, and the delicious desserts served in the evening. As we had an early checkout, the staff thoughtfully prepared a takeaway breakfast for our onward journey, which was greatly appreciated. Perfectly located just a few metres from the entrance to Dali Old Town, the hotel offers an ideal base for exploring the area. "We've been traveling in China for 2 months and this is the best place we have stayed. Very comfortable and clean and quiet. The hosts were very nice and responsive and helpful. We hired the owner to give us a tour of Dali and the lake and mountains that was excellent. The host gave us excellent restaurant recommendations. The host arranged our transport from the train station, and our transport to our next city we are visiting. We have all excellent things to say about our stay here and hosts. Highly recommended."

"This is the 2nd time with Homestay. I didn’t expect too much since 1st Homestay didn’t leave me a good impression. However, it’s totally different story here. Staff are extremely friendly , services are perfect, amazing food, bedding is comfortable, pet friendly, nice mountain view from room windows directly, very close to Dali old town. A lot of tour tips are also shared, like local cuisine, nice places to check out. Ever remind you about safety everyday. What else more can you expect! I’m happy to stay here but unfortunately the trip has to move on. We will see each other again."

"I stumbled upon Sheyu Courtyard when I was first deciding where to stay. Seeing that they had cats and dogs, I figured any owner who loves animals couldn't be bad, and I was right! It was absolutely amazing! The experience was incredible! The guys working at the homestay were all super enthusiastic! The room was fantastic in every way – clean and comfortable! Their latex pillows were especially comfy 😌. The staff actively helped with our luggage 🧳 and even shared sightseeing tips, which was super thoughtful! I particularly remember a small detail during check-in: my ID didn't have a cover, and after registering my information, one of the guys put a cover on it for me. This little detail really stuck with me! I loved all the cats and dogs in the courtyard, especially Niu Niu (the cow)! I took pictures of every one of them so I could have memories to look back on. On our last day, I specifically set aside some time to play with the little guys in the courtyard – it was so hard to leave! I will definitely be back again! Oh, and the steamed buns and dumplings from the breakfast place across the street were also delicious! They were freshly made!"

MMrs LeafIf I could, I’ll give a score of 100/10! This is such a fantastic experience staying here. What is so impressive is the SERVICE and the actual room facilities. The staff is soooooooo friendly and helpful - he basically helped me plan my itinerary every day because I came with zero plans and only wanted to relax. He helped me to plan my route and book a car for day use. And the driver is amazing too - he brought me to try 扎染 tie dye even when I didn’t know anything about it. He made sure I went to a local experience instead of expensive tourist trap. And he’s great at taking photos too! Back to the staff. He would understand what I’m interested in and then give suggestions that I’ll like. Amazing. And there is even a whole list of things to watch out for when visiting all the tourists attractions. When you arrive, they’ll also message you all the places to eat. There is also a convenience store right downstairs if you want to buy anything. They also gives you instructions if you want food delivery. So detailed!! And they are so proud of the fact that their rooms are exactly what it looked like on the app. So clean so new so amazing. Look at that view! You wake up to the view of the vast sea. And there is a giant bath tub for you to experience soaking in bubble bath (also given) at the same time. The toilets are always the make or break when travelling. And the toilets are amazing again. AUTOMATIC flush and the seat cover automatically opens and close. My goodness. And the shower has different outlets if you want some form of water acupuncture 🤣 very modern. And they even have a towel dryer/heater!!! You can dry anything small and it’ll be dry and crisp. Normally hotel pillows give me headaches. But not here! They have the latex foam pillow and also the normal fluffy pillows. It is so suitable and comfortable for me who is accustomed to memory foam pillows. How can accommodation get so detailed and excellent? Breakfast is another wonderful experience. You go the dining area and an aunty cooks porridge or noodles or meat buns or corn or sweet potatoes and serve them to you. There is even soya bean drink and fritters and lots of sauces and seasonings and small bites. And there is unlimited bottled beverages like honey jasmine tea or oolong tea and fruits and coffee. How do they even make a profit? And there is even a place to rest and relax and drink tea if you come with friends. I can’t wait to come back here with more friends and family and let me experience what I enjoyed so much here. Thank you to the staff and to the boss! 😁😍

Esta estadia foi a melhor possível. O proprietário é uma pessoa incrível, desde a recepção calorosa até o cuidado com tudo o que precisávamos, como o fornecimento constante de água potável e todas as recomendações necessárias. Mesmo com a barreira do idioma, ele se esforçou ao máximo para se comunicar, o que demonstra o cuidado e a atenção que o lugar proporciona. O quarto em que ficamos tinha uma vista maravilhosa da montanha Cangshan, e a varanda é a cereja do bolo. Do terraço, você pode apreciar uma vista de 360° e um nascer do sol deslumbrante. A localização é muito conveniente. Você pode ir a pé a todos os pontos turísticos ou pegar um veículo elétrico no próprio local, pois eles disponibilizam, caso necessário. Há uma máquina de lavar roupa no terraço, caso precise lavar alguma peça. No geral, tivemos uma estadia muito confortável e com certeza voltaremos. Recomendado com nota 10/10.

Everything was nicely prepared and felt like a proper home. The highlight was definitely the stunning lake view right from our window—perfect for sunrise lovers. 👩💼 Host experience: The homestay staff was incredibly friendly and understanding. She even arranged a free ride from the railway station, which we truly appreciated after a long day of travel. 🚧 Outside facilities: This is where it gets a bit mixed. The overall apartment complex (including the parking lot and elevator) felt poorly maintained, and the atmosphere at night was dark and slightly eerie, especially for solo travelers or couples. Many neighboring units seemed unoccupied, which added to the quiet, empty vibe. 📍 Location: Take note—this place is about 50 minutes from Dali Ancient City, so it’s not ideal if you’re planning to explore the old town daily. But if you want to relax by the lake and enjoy peace and views, it could work. UUsuário convidadoService was fantastic, the host was superb! Place was clean, convenient, and included all that one could need on a vacation. In the heart of Ancient Dali, this was perfect for food, entertainment, and shopping. It is also minutes away from the famous Cangshan mountain, and the host is very considerate in assisting you with any arrangement you'd like, including cabs for railway and airport transportation. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that the room matched exactly the photos that are on the site. Very often this is not the case. So, all in all it was a very pleasant experience at this location. Would definitely stay again and certainly would recommend this to anyone travelling to Dali. As a single female, I found this place to be very safe...especially with a considerate host, who looks out for you!

Higiene: O ambiente de dormir é o primeiro fator na hora de sair, e essa casa é muito limpa! Instalações: Completo, o banheiro é um banheiro inteligente, a temperatura da água é ajustada automaticamente quando chove é adequada, satisfatória Ambiente: Os terraços do segundo e terceiro andares têm vista para o Lago Erhai. Serviço: O chefe pode resolver qualquer problema perfeitamente devido a restrições de tempo, fiquei duas noites e não consegui tomar o chá da tarde. A localização é um pouco longe da cidade antiga, você pode pegar um táxi, mas está muito perto da entrada da montanha Cangshan. Vou considerar ficar aqui na próxima vez que vier a Dali👍.
