"From picking up from the train station, to daily amenities and services, it’s all exceptional. Breakfast spread was so wide it’s unlikely you’ll be able to try them all. Afternoon tea sets with fruits, cookies, tarts and cake was delicious. Attention to details like kid dental sets and in room baby shoe for my son was also so thoughtful. The view is nice, I wished I had booked longer to stay here. Will definitely come back this hotel again next time I come to Dali. The lady 程七七 from the hotel was also very helpful the entire time since before arrival with arrangements till check out. There’s also a small little playground area at lvl 2 of building 2 for small kids to play."

"Just got back from an amazing stay at the Pullman Dali !
First off, the views of Erhai Lake are incredible. Waking up to that every morning was worth the trip alone. The hotel is super modern and everything was spotlessly clean—our room felt like a perfect, comfortable retreat.
But the real highlight was the service. A huge shoutout to our room assistant, Tracy! She was so attentive and helpful. For two days, she was basically my personal ”Ask Me Anything” guide for the hotel and Dali. Need a restaurant tip? Ask Tracy. How to work the lights? Tracy knows. Extra pillows? Tracy's on it. She answered every single question and made everything so easy and smooth.
If you're looking for a beautiful, comfortable hotel with stunning views and staff who genuinely make your stay better, this is it. Thanks especially to Tracy for making our trip so special!

"趕上春假，導致4月3日從昆明喜來登到昆明站再到大理站坐動車一小時有座+一小時站票，再打車到酒店整整用了6個小時，舟車勞頓疲憊不堪，加上4月3日晚聽信網上宣傳，在大理古城吃飯和孩子畫肖像等體驗極其差。 幸好，有大理王宮酒店超預期的服務和設施及用品，（喜來登的酒店用品沒法用，不是一個層級的）撫平了身心。昨日上午滇池遊玩及今日洱海蒼山一日遊完美收官，中午在洱海邊吃的漁·白族農家菜海稍弓魚，晚上吃了一頓本地人吃的壽慶燒烤（大理古城都是外地人開店騙外地人的千萬不要信網上的）。再回到酒店依舊賓至如歸，還有細節服務給予家人小驚喜，居然贈送緩解疲勞眼貼（看到媳婦買了玻尿酸眼葯水）。遂有山海經行

"We enjoyed our stay here. It was in the quiet part of the old town and close to the road where you could get a taxi out. Very convenient. Service was also great and the staff helped us out with some challenges we had with the Chinese online booking systems eg for train tickets. The soundproofing didn’t bother us so much as it was low season so not a lot of noise. The only tiny thing was that there were ants in the room so you couldn’t leave food lying around and had to be careful where you left your belongings."

It's a scene of debauchery outside, but it's really quiet inside.The building is mainly made of brick and wood,with modern and fashionable furniture and supplies. It has both the retro style of the Republic of China and the fashion sense of the modern trend. The hotel has its own parking lot with free parking,which is very convenient ford riving or going to Dali Railway Station or Dali Airport. If you are driving to the old city from Shuanglang or Haidongfang,the hotel's parking lot will be a very goodchoice for you.Room amenities are furnished to a very high standard,with mattresses from King Koil,hairdryers from Dyson and a four-piece bath from Apelles. Other furniture is the use of designer brands.
"The best part of our stay is the hospitality and we cannot praise it enough. The hosts were responsive on wechat beforehand and helped us with pre-bookings. They were also ready with detailed recommendations on where to eat and what to do. The daily breakfast is generous - it is always more than enough,, and they can accommodate some special requests (like picky-eating children). Afternoon tea and an evening dessert are also served, and likewise generous (they are a ritual in Chinese hospitality). Small snags - there was some renovation during our stay which generated some noise, but the hotel kindly comped us a few things and also gave us a very nice parting gift to make up for it. We also found our room a little dark. But overall the thoughtful and enthusiastic service more than made up for these deficiencies."

"Overall, my stay here was incredibly comfortable. The hotel boasts excellent scenery and is very quiet, offering a sense of escape that was perfect for me.
The afternoon tea and breakfast were both very impressive and lavish. I also received a room upgrade, which was spacious and very pleasant to stay in. It feels like the hotel is aiming for a 'wilderness luxury' vibe, and both the aesthetics and environment are spot on.
There's a fantastic activity space in the hotel where you can practice calligraphy, which I personally loved. However, I do have a small suggestion: for a space dedicated to quiet contemplation like this, perhaps some rules regarding quietness are needed. For instance, whether young children are suitable to enter, or if they do, to maintain quietness. Otherwise, if it's noisy while someone is trying to practice calligraphy, it can somewhat impact the experience.
I also want to specifically commend the driver who took me to the airport; their service was excellent. In fact, all the staff I encountered were quite dedicated, perhaps because it's a new opening, everyone is very serious about their work.
As it's a new hotel, the cleanliness is currently very well maintained. However, with wooden structures like these rooms, future maintenance will be crucial. I hope it continues to be well-maintained, and I'll definitely be back! 😊"

"Traveling to Dali with my kids, beyond the captivating scenery, the most comforting thing was choosing the right hotel. Although it wasn't the peak tourist season, the summer still saw crowded throngs, making it quite a challenge to find a satisfactory place to stay. Luckily, we succeeded.
The hotel is right next to the South Gate of Dali Ancient City, offering an excellent location and ample parking, which completely eased any worries about driving. Because we were traveling with children, we initially couldn't book a suitable room type. After a discussion, the hotel very thoughtfully upgraded our room, for which I am deeply grateful! From the young front desk staff and bellboys to the slightly more experienced long-haired female manager, every employee's service was delightful. One could say that only hotels like HEO Hezhu truly complement the stunning beauty of Dali.
Breakfast was rich and not perfunctory. The large terrace and rooftop offer panoramic views of Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake; these wonderful experiences need to be personally discovered by those fortunate enough to visit. In terms of environment and facilities alone, it already surpasses many established five-star hotels. When I first checked in, I even exclaimed, 'Are hotels in Dali really this competitive now?'
But what truly makes me choose this place again without hesitation next time is its impeccable service. This also leaves me with a dilemma: for a hotel to develop long-term, it must do everything well; but if it does well and no one knows, it will be difficult to sustain operations; if it promotes heavily, what often follows are price increases and a decline in service quality. Many once-excellent businesses have gradually become mediocre or even poor this way.
Regardless, I still had to write this positive review. Firstly, to leave a beautiful conclusion to my trip, and secondly, to acknowledge the hotel's impeccable performance at this stage. I'm not concerned about what the future holds; at least we experienced its best phase."

Excellent service! We had to cancel one night out of our two-night stay due to travel delays and were prepared to accept the cost due to the short notice, but the hotel staff went out of their way to offer us a refund. The hotel is located very near the Erhai S bay and the view is perfect from our room. The room is very spacious and comfortable and the bathroom comes equipped with a smart toilet seat and outfitted with L’Occitane toiletries. The staff connected us to hotel concierge on WeChat, served complimentary mung bean dessert to our room and offered us tea everytime we had to wait for a cab at the lobby. Having stayed at two separate Hyatt locations during our trip, I must say that we experienced the best service at this hotel during our entire trip in Yunnan and am extremely impressed. We’ll definitely return if we ever visit Dali again.

I had an amazing stay at Anyu Dali, and their hospitality truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly helpful, assisting us with our luggage and even coordinating with the Didi driver when we were rushing to catch our railway. They went above and beyond by providing weather updates for our next destination, Lijiang, and noticing that we were unprepared for the cold, they thoughtfully gave us heat pads.
As first-time guests, we were treated to complimentary afternoon tea and breakfast, as well as four free laundry items for washing. The welcome gift was a lovely touch, and they even prepared a warm nighttime drink before bedtime, making our stay feel extra special. What really stood out was their attention to detail—even knowing that we would be staying at Anyu Lijiang next, they arranged to give us our farewell gift there, considering our luggage was already full.
The level of service here surpasses that of many well-known hotels, and I will definitely choose Anyu again the next time I visit China. Highly recommended for those who appreciate genuine hospitality!

Had a wonderful stay at Mengling Yayuan Hotel in Dali from 19 to 21 December 2025. The staff were exceptionally attentive and went out of their way to make my visit memorable—from a smooth check-in to thoughtful local recommendations, their hospitality truly stood out. The room was spacious, elegantly decorated, and equipped with modern amenities that made the stay both comfortable and convenient.
I especially enjoyed the daily local breakfast options of noodles or congee, the relaxing afternoon tea, and the delicious desserts served in the evening. As we had an early checkout, the staff thoughtfully prepared a takeaway breakfast for our onward journey, which was greatly appreciated.
Perfectly located just a few metres from the entrance to Dali Old Town, the hotel offers an ideal base for exploring the area. Mengling Yayuan Hotel beautifully blends traditional charm with modern comfort, and I wholeheartedly recommend it for its warm service and excellent facilities.

We had a truly wonderful stay at this resort and were very impressed by the level of service provided. The staff were extremely attentive and thoughtful throughout our stay. Tea time and breakfast were available to be served in the room upon request, and they also provided cleaning services for our clothes.
The team took really good care of us, recommending great food options around the resort and ensuring we were well looked after. They even helped to transport our luggage to the nearest pick-up point so that we could easily book a cab, which was greatly appreciated.
Another highlight was the photography service. The resort engages professional photographers, and we were able to take beautiful photos within the resort as lasting memories of our trip.
Overall, the service was exceptional, warm, and genuine. We felt very well taken care of and would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a comfortable stay with excellent hospitality.

Excellent boutique hotel at the fringe of Dali ancient city. Walking distance to the 3 Pagodas, with an excellent view of Cangshan mountain in the background.
Hotel beautifully landscaped, lots of greenery with outdoor seating to relax and listed to birds chirping.
Room was clean and well maintained. Snacks , drinks and fruits refilled daily. Only negative was the extra bed for my child. Very hard mattress and the frame squeaks and groans when someone moves on it. They should upgrade this.
Service was excellent . Six stars! Warm, friendly and thoughtful. Always with a smile and willing to help. We did a little laundry and was drying by the bathtub. Housekeeping noticed and brought in a clothes rack and hung the clothes in the courtyard so it dries better. Wonderful initiative! We did many food deliveries and they happily brought it to our room.
Manager was great also. Always checking if we were ok and ready to provide helpful tips.
Restaurant was good. Breakfast was limited but good quality and sufficient. Dinner was ok as well, local cuisine.
On our departure, they gave us fruits , snacks and water for our onward trip.
Highly recommended

I cannot recommend Sunyata Homestay in Dali enough! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this was more than just a place to stay—it was an experience of genuine warmth and care. The rooms were impeccably clean and comfortable, providing a serene escape after long days of exploring. The afternoon tea and breakfast they served were nothing short of extraordinary. I’ve stayed in multiple 4-5 star hotels across China over the past month, but the gourmet food here easily surpassed them all. Every bite was thoughtfully prepared, leaving me in awe of the flavors and quality.
The location of Sunyata Homestay is also perfect. It’s just far enough from the bustling crowds to remain peaceful and quiet, yet close enough to Dali Ancient City that it’s only a few steps away from great eateries and the heart of the ancient town. The balance is ideal for anyone seeking convenience without sacrificing tranquility.
A special shout-out to the young lady working in the coffee shop up front—her coffee is unparalleled! My husband, who is a daily coffee drinker and rarely impressed, couldn’t stop raving about her brews. It was, hands down, the best coffee we had during our travels.
The staff here deserve every bit of praise. They were attentive, accommodating, and genuinely cared about making our stay memorable. However, what truly sets Sunyata apart is the incredible owner. My father had a bad accident in Dali on a rainy day, and I can honestly say I don’t know what I would have done without his support. Despite my limited Mandarin, he spent an entire day accompanying me to the hospital, ensuring we were well cared for and understood. The next day, he went out of his way to pick up the CT scans for us. His kindness and compassion left me speechless.
The owner’s dedication to his guests is reflected in his amazing team, all of whom go above and beyond. Without his help, I would have had to cut my trip to China short. Instead, he turned a difficult situation into one where we felt supported and cared for like family.
Sunyata Homestay is truly one of a kind, and I will forever be grateful for their hospitality. This is not just a place to stay; it’s a haven of comfort, care, and culinary delights. Thank you, Sunyata, for everything!

Bringing the kids to Dali and fulfilling their dream of an underwater room! 🌊
I’ve put together a super honest guide to our stay! I'll cover prices, floor choices, hidden costs, and food and drink, so first-timers can just copy this plan!
💰 Room Prices & Floor Pitfalls
▪️ Standard Rooms: 400-600 RMB/night
No underwater view, great value for money if you just need a place to stay.
▪️ Underwater View Rooms: 1600-1900 RMB/night
Prices vary by floor, and here’s the key thing to avoid!
❌ Definitely don’t choose the 1st floor!
The floor is too low, the window is quite small, you can only see corals and small bottom-dwelling fish. Photos turn out very ordinary, and the experience is poor.
✅ Go for the 2nd floor first! Best value for money overall!
The price is moderate, the viewing window is super large, and the view is expansive. You’ll get great photos effortlessly. Call the front desk in advance to reserve a room with a good view. We stayed in room 8220, and the view was quite good.
⭕ The 3rd floor is slightly more expensive.
The view isn't significantly different from the 2nd floor. If you're looking for value, just go for the second floor.
⚠️ Charged Activities
The mermaid and golden storm performances, which used to be free, are now all charged! 200 RMB per show.
Other self-funded interactive activities:
▫️ Touching dolphins for a photo: 100 RMB

Booking a room includes a complimentary diving experience 🤿. There are no hidden secondary charges, which is really thoughtful!
🍜 Food and Drink
▫️ The mini-bar in the room has a rich variety of snacks and drinks, all free of charge.
▫️ There are very few restaurants around the hotel. If you want a proper meal, you'll need to take a taxi for about 15 minutes. Alternatively, you can order takeout or dine at the hotel.
▫️ The hotel’s own breakfast is of good quality, and the à la carte dishes in the restaurant are also very reasonably priced.
(It’s advisable to order takeout in advance, as delivery times can be quite long.)
Many people think almost 2000 RMB for one night is expensive. But seeing the kids pressed against the window, watching the underwater world with eyes full of surprise and wonder ✨, makes all the expenses feel super worth it! A true fairy-tale experience exclusively for children! 👧🏻
