This was the perfect start to our first trip to China — the hotel was right beside erhai lake and the views from the hotel cafe and the rooms were fantastic. The rooms were very clean and facilities modern and good (particularly the hotel cafe which serves coffee (each guest can redeem 1x coffee and unlimited cornetto ice creams and snacks from the cafe). It is also a ~6 minute walk away from a family-run bicycle shop where tourists can rent a bike from (20 元 for a full day) (there are rent-as-you-go bikes along the area too but they require a Chinese ID card in order for you to book). The service was also excellent and all the staff were very attentive. Each time we returned to the hotel, the staff would greet us with an option to get a bowl of rice noodles (mi xian 米线） or chinese dessert, depending on what time we arrived. There were also free flow fruits (some small apple-like fruit and cherry tomatoes) in the hotel lobby that was stocked through the day. Fantastic stay. We will definitely return if we come back to the area. (We had entered another hotel further down the same stretch for a coffee and that other hotel’s coffee and cleanliness paled in comparison; made us very thankful that we had booked this hotel instead). 10/10!

Service was fantastic, the host was superb! Place was clean, convenient, and included all that one could need on a vacation. In the heart of Ancient Dali, this was perfect for food, entertainment, and shopping. It is also minutes away from the famous Cangshan mountain, and the host is very considerate in assisting you with any arrangement you'd like, including cabs for railway and airport transportation. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that the room matched exactly the photos that are on the site. Very often this is not the case. So, all in all it was a very pleasant experience at this location. Would definitely stay again and certainly would recommend this to anyone travelling to Dali. As a single female, I found this place to be very safe...especially with a considerate host, who looks out for you!

Had a wonderful stay at Mengling Yayuan Hotel in Dali from 19 to 21 December 2025. The staff were exceptionally attentive and went out of their way to make my visit memorable—from a smooth check-in to thoughtful local recommendations, their hospitality truly stood out. The room was spacious, elegantly decorated, and equipped with modern amenities that made the stay both comfortable and convenient. I especially enjoyed the daily local breakfast options of noodles or congee, the relaxing afternoon tea, and the delicious desserts served in the evening. As we had an early checkout, the staff thoughtfully prepared a takeaway breakfast for our onward journey, which was greatly appreciated. Perfectly located just a few metres from the entrance to Dali Old Town, the hotel offers an ideal base for exploring the area. Mengling Yayuan Hotel beautifully blends traditional charm with modern comfort, and I wholeheartedly recommend it for its warm service and excellent facilities.

The landlady was absolutely wonderful! She was incredibly welcoming and always went above and beyond to help with anything we needed. The guesthouse was impeccably clean; I even noticed how meticulously she organized her cleaning cloths in the utility room – she clearly takes pride in her work. The courtyard was charming, and the fish looked so vibrant and lively. It truly felt like a home away from home, allowing us to relax and unwind completely. Highly recommend!

Eu estava esperando um dia livre e fácil, e nós ficámos muito tempo para se afundar Na vista.O serviço de pessoal era incrível. A equipe chegou a mim através trip.com o dia antes de entrarmos (iniciativa fantástica) porque visitantes de países terceiros como eu não conhecem o uso do WeChat. Quando chegámos, o pessoal estava à espera para nos receber e levar para o apartamento, enquanto chegámos por nosso próprio motorista.O hotel enviou deserto (sem cogumelo branco) à noite para o nosso apartamento. Um aspecto importante do hotel é a doce e ampla distribuição do pequeno-almoço, o que se encontra no piso mais alto, oferecendo UMA vista excelente de Erhai, e a atenciosa senhora lá estava amável, alegre e com um excelente serviço. Quando o hotel chegou, o Pessoal do hotel NOS enviou para o carro.Eles também apresentaram UMA bolsa de boas-vindas, incluindo bolos de rosa chinês (que eram super deliciosos), chá e doces.Foi um gesto terrível. Eu tive o bolo de rosa chinesa Durante a minha quebra e adoro-o, então tive a maior felicidade de encontrá-los no presente de despedida.Eu recomendaria Muito que você fique aqui se você estiver EM Dali.Comunidades Singapuras Você adoraria este lugar! I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Upon our arrival at Dali Station, the driver was quick to respond and gave clear directions to the pick-up point. He was also very helpful with our luggages, which made the start of our trip smooth and pleasant. The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive throughout our stay. They upgraded our room, promptly addressed our needs (room's toilet issues, rental of bikes) and offered helpful advice on how to get around Dali, which we truly appreciated. Our room was clean, comfortable, and offered a beautiful view — a perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. Overall, it was a great stay and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Dali! Have also feedback to the hotel that it will be great if they have more hooks in the shower area. We will be back! 😀

We had the pleasure of staying at Erhai Xinglai Lakeview Inn in picturesque Dali, and our experience was nothing short of magical. From the moment we booked, the staff demonstrated exceptional hospitality, calling us to arrange for complimentary pickup from the airport. Important tip: Dali's cobblestone streets can be challenging for luggage, so be sure to call the hotel in advance to arrange for their free pickup service. Upon arrival, we were treated to a delightful tea break, complete with fresh fruits and fragrant rose tea. Witnessing the chef meticulously prepare the fruit platter for 30 minutes was a testament to the hotel's attention to detail and commitment to excellence. It's clear that every aspect of our stay was crafted with love. The hotel offers thoughtful amenities, including: - Photography package for capturing memories - Nighttime milk service, delivering warm milk to your doorstep before bed - Cozy library with an impressive selection of adult fiction, non-fiction, and children's books Near the hotel, there are live singing performances in the evenings, featuring talented vocalists performing ********* and Chinese classics (we enjoyed listening from the comfort of our room!) The staff's warm hospitality, combined with the hotel's charming ambiance and thoughtful touches, made our stay in Dali truly unforgettable. We highly recommend Erhai Xinglai to anyone seeking a tranquil retreat in this beautiful town.

酒店環境特別特別好，位置在雙廊的玉幾島上，位置極佳，離楊麗萍老師的太陽宮月亮宮特別特別近，在屋裡可以喂海鷗，床上可以賞風景，超級棒，尤其酒店的服務太好了！都是一對一管家式服務，特別是服務我們的小張同學，非常細緻周到熱情有禮貌，提前迎接，還送我們到停車場，為孩子準備的可愛的小拖鞋和牙刷，精心準備的下午茶，太滿意了！酒店公共區域也為客人開放，在海邊喝杯咖啡，吃點零食，太棒了！

value for money type of stay on this side of Dali. With good views and a good location after you get used to looking for the right alley. There is a rooftop communal area that is superb for photos and just watching the sunset. Plenty of amenities that would surprise you - tea pot set, hanging rack outside your room.

We rented the Garden Deluxe Room, with a mountain view. We find the description and pictures were accurately advertised, and the service was impeccable. We were very pleased with our rental, as it was private, clean and orderly. The hotel is conveniently located within the Dali Ancient Town, close to Biai Road and Renmin Road intersection (see picture of map). The morning and night views from the terrace were stunning. The Dali Ancient Town is as lively as you would imagine, with tons of food and shopping options. Our experience in Dali was awesome, with it's majestic mountains, beautiful lake, vibrant towns and peaceful villages. However, the best part of this stay was our interactions with the hotel owners, who are a lovely couple. They are good people - very kind, helpful and approachable. Although we had to use an English to Mandarin translation app for most of our conversations, they were patient and made recommendations that we really enjoyed. They helped us book a tour of Erhai Lake and we had a wonderful time sightseeing with the bus tour company (highly recommended if you don't know where to start exploring). We also took their scooter bike to explore the Three Pagodas on our own and drove around the lake afterwards. Please consider renting their scooter bike, as it was super fun and the price is very affordable. As language is a barrier for us, they not only helped us book our ride to Lijiang, but they also gave us a hotel recommendation, which their son runs. To us, they are very trustworthy, so we're sure we will have another pleasant stay in Lijiang. After all, it's not how clean the hotel is, or how beautiful the surroundings are, it's the people we meet along the way that makes it a wonderul trip experience. If there is another hotel rating for overall hotel experience, it would be a 10/5 for us. The owners definitely made our short stay very comfortable and our adventures amazing - thank you so much! We would definitely come back to this hotel if we are in this area again!
