"An attractive hotel in a former imperial complex (a library or something like that) offering large, clean rooms. It's up on the side of a hill but taxis/rideshare will take you to the front door. Also it's very close to the town center and is a short ride to the temples that are of interest in Chengde. They have a decent breakfast at the onsite restaurant, and a dinner service featuring local dishes that are supposed to be similar to what an emperor might have eaten. So you can dine like an emperor, for a fee. The large deer roaming the grounds stare at your with the big, sad eyes, obviously looking for a handout, but don't fall for it as there's plenty of grass. There was some construction going on, seems the buildings are being refurbished, but it did not really interfere with our stay. Signs in English and English-speaking staff at the front desk."

"Stayed over for one night at the Hilton Garden Inn hotel at Chengde. The entrance to the hotel was congested with cars. The parking attendance in front of the hotel wasn't really helpful when my driver dropped us off to check in to the hotel. What he cares was just faster unload and removed the car form that area. He offered no help at all. I was not sure if the parking attendance was employed by the Hilton hotel. If yes then the service was really not up par with the Hilton standard for customer service standard. We carried one large luggages and few smaller bags. We have to carry it over few flights of stairs to get in to the hotel entrance. The sliding path to get into the hotel entrance was not located in front of the hotel entrance but was hidden at the side that was obscured or partially blocked by the parking car at the front. The reception lady was very friendly though. We were given high floor and she scanned my WeChat to easy contact with the hotel later. The hotel room was very spacious and beautiful but the room was stuffy. Only one tiny small window was able to open a little bit to let the outside air go in. The afternoon temperature was as high as 25 degrees Celcius and rather HOT inside the room. We cannot adjust the aircon in the room as it is central setting! Called to the reception to ask why the room air con can't be adjusted and it seems not working but was told it is central setting. Well, you paid a lots to stay at the hotel without proper ventilation but to rely on the outside air to go in the tiny window. Despite the hotel facility was complete but we still cannot really enjoy and sleep comfortably as we felt HOT. The hotel separates the bathroom from toilet. The washing basin was outside of the bathroom. The breakfast was good with lots of variety. After checking out, I realised I might have left my traveller adaptor in the room. Immediately Isent a text to the hotel via WeChat but to my disappointment, it took two days for them to reply my message asking me to self contact the front desk counter to ask yourself?! What kind of service of that??? Asking hotel guest to add them on WeChat but still asking us to self call the front desk? Not all tourists will have local Sim card to make phone call. That is really a disappointment. They should have offered a better service by checking with the front desk counter and then get back to us via WeChat. This Hilton is definitely still a long way to go to achieve better rating. The hotel is closed to q night market that offers lots of street foods. There was one food stall that offer very palatable Chu Cheong fun. The experience was not pleasant for my one night stay."

"Hotel is modern and location is in the centre of Chengde. Close to all amenities and the daily night market is just a short 2 minutes walk. There is a great supermarket next door as well. Room is spacious, clean and with voice enabled room controls. Front desk is very helpful and even help us find an English/Chinese speaking tour guide. Strongly recommended to stay here."

"The hotel location is strategic; many shops nearby the area. Apart from that, it's newly renovated with a huge size bedroom. It has a comfortable and clean king size bed with toilet, washroom and sink; all separated. We can open 3 pieces of luggage at the same time! Furthermore, it's a modern hotel embedded with robots to control the lighting, curtains, etc... The receptionist even arranges for a robot to deliver us a shower cap and bath towels (very advanced hotel). On the final day, the staff even called didi to fetch us to the airport, complimentary service. Overall, we are very happy with our stay and definitely chose this hotel again if we were to visit Chengde again although the breakfast is not fantastic but it doesn't matter to us. Recommend to stay!"

"This is my first time to stay at this wonderful hotel, and I must say, the experience has been truly delightful. The location is incredibly convenient, situated just around the corner from Wanda Plaza, which offers a variety of shops, including a well-stocked supermarket and a modern movie theater. This makes it easy to find everything I need within walking distance. The services provided by the hotel staff are outstanding, with the front desk team standing out in particular. They have demonstrated a highly professional attitude combined with a warm and hospitable mindset, making me feel very welcome and well cared for throughout my stay. Given this positive experience, I will surely choose this hotel again the next time I visit Chengde."

"Hotel is very centrally located near to commercial area so lots of food options. Hotel staff is very helpful. Hotel is just 15 minutes walk to countty resort scenic area and short ride to the outer temples. The room is very spacious. Our room faces the road and in the daytime it is noisy with traffic and from various announcements and music from shops along the street. But at night it is very quiet. Breakfast buffet spread is good but mainly Chinese food. Will recommend this hotel just be aware of the noise in daytime."

"酒店位置還可以，距離熱門景點幾公里路程，對面就是僧冠峯，衹可惜冬天好像不開放。而且緊鄰武烈河，在房間便可見河和山，算是山景房，河景房。 酒店附近特別近的飯館不多，有家呷哺呷哺火鍋，還有個生活廣場，裏面有一些小館子。本來還有一個超市，1月4日後搬走了。 酒店門口停車位置挺多，前台做好登記，住宿後停車免費。 酒店房間挺多，畢竟是五星級酒店，服務還是不錯的。酒店裝修雖然有點時間，但並不顯得陳舊。房間收拾得挺乾淨，也沒有異味，隔音效果也還不錯。房間大小還可以，就是老式裝修風格的房間設計的插電口太少，充電時得拔掉枱燈或其他電器。 酒店有餐廳，飯菜味道不錯，就是吃飯還要收取服務費有些不喜歡。 酒店早餐沒有想象得豐盛，本地的特色小吃有點太少，倒是羊雜湯還不錯。 整體住着還不錯。"

"If you’re a foreigner traveling to Chengde, I would totally recommend that you stay at this hotel! The location is great! It’s close to three temples - Puning Temple, Waiba Temple and Putuo Temple. Also, it’s a 15 min walk to the Chengde Museum. By car, it’s about 8 minutes to the Summer Resort (or a 50-minute walk if you like walking 😄). People are friendly and nice at the hotel. They spoke to me in Chinese, but because I speak Chinese. They went above and beyond to make sure I had a lovely stay, helping me with delivery and buying tickets for the Kangxi Ceremony. If I go again, I’ll definitely stay there again. 谢谢！"
