Ein einzigartiger Aufenthalt am Fuße der Mauer! Die Zimmer waren sauber und die Betten unglaublich gemütlich. Der beste Schlaf auf der ganzen Reise. Es waren draußen fast -20 Grad, aber innen war es wohlig warm. Der Besitzer hat uns gute Tipps für die Wanderung auf der Mauer gegeben. Das hausgemachte Essen war überaus köstlich. In den Zimmern hängen wunderschöne Fotografien der Mauer, die der Besitzer selbst angefertigt hat. Egal was wir benötigt haben, sie haben sich bestens und rührend um uns gekümmert. Vielen lieben Dank für die wunderbare Zeit! Wir werden wiederkommen 😊

Hotel man is great, he speaks very good English and is super friendly and kind. Transportation by car was arranged to and from the train station as well as for heading up the hill at 6am to the Jinshanling great wall park entrance to catch sunrise from the Great Wall at the top. It is possible to just walk up to the gate instead, it just takes longer to walk the 2 km to the ticket checking gate, and there is then still some maybe 15 mins of walking uphill before getting to the top. We were scared of large crowds at the wall, and followimg many online recommendation we found the Jinshanling section. This hotel is at the great location a short walk from the mid enterance to the wall section, the Gubeikou train station is also very reachable from the Beijingbei (North) train station. It is also quite affordable to reach the place by Didi (550 yuan from the Beijing airport). The place is clean, and the food really stands out as quite amazing, the prices are also very low, for room and food. Just tell the owner you would want a breakfast and you will be served one first thing in the morning. The ladies are also super nice and very hospitable to the foreign turists.

Our stay at Shanhai Premium Guesthouse was an incredibly peaceful and rejuvenating experience! The mountain surroundings were absolutely breathtaking, with fresh crisp air that immediately washed away all our city stress. The room was cozy and well-designed, featuring traditional Chinese elements blended with modern amenities. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and accommodating, always ready to help with any requests. The location was perfect for exploring the Wuling Mountain area, and we loved waking up to the sound of birds and seeing the misty mountain views every morning. The hiking trails nearby were well-maintained and offered stunning views of the landscape. Although it was a bit remote, that was exactly what we were looking for - a true escape from urban life. The local breakfast was delicious and featured fresh, organic ingredients from the area. We particularly enjoyed the evening stargazing, as the night sky was crystal clear away from city lights. This place is absolutely perfect for couples seeking a romantic getaway or anyone looking to reconnect with nature. We would definitely recommend this hidden gem to all our friends and family, and we plan to return again in the different seasons to experience the changing beauty of the mountains. 房間乾淨衞生，老闆服務熱情周到，飯菜可口我很喜歡，停車方便，來金山嶺玩兒住了六天，每天上山下山老闆都能抽時間接送到檢票口，是一家性價比不錯的農家樂。他家的侉燉魚、木蘭芽貼餅子、肉蘑炒肉、葫蘆條炒肉、手工韭菜雞蛋水餃、家常餅給我印象很深。

We stayed one night at Jinshanling Hanting B&B, and the location couldn’t be better—just a short walk from the Great Wall. It’s the perfect spot to catch both sunrise and sunset; the wall opened at 5 a.m. when we visited in early November. Breakfast was included, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We’d definitely recommend staying overnight for the better light and calmer atmosphere instead of doing a day trip. There’s also a great café nearby. To find the place: walk to the entrance gate, turn right, and it’s on the right side after about 30–50 meters.
