Perfect layover hotel, so close to terminal A, only about 8 minutes in the free shuttle they provided the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Dinner was really good, especially the springbok carpaccio!
I’d recommend it to anyone needing to be near the airport.

I stayed here for 2 weeks, and I enjoyed myself immensely! I mostly keep to myself and don’t go out, as I was just here to relax and unwind. However I felt very safe and comfortable with my stay. The room is clean and smells amazing! There was a cute glass balcony which was pleasant as I could step out a bit and enjoy the great weather. The bathroom was stocked, I had a good selection of teas and coffees. I was very satisfied and impressed with my room selection. Although I think next time I will choose the apartment hotel since I always bought my own food 😄. They have a free shuttle to and from Nelson Mandela Square every hour which I utilized. They have a pool which I could see from my balcony and a gym that was opposite my room, however I did not utilize either of those facilities. All the staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful. Would definitely recommend this place

Esta foi a nossa segunda estadia neste hotel, pois a sua localização é muito conveniente, e tivemos mais uma experiência maravilhosa. Os funcionários foram incrivelmente simpáticos e nos fizeram sentir bem-vindos desde o momento da chegada. O nosso quarto estava impecável e bem conservado, criando um ambiente confortável para a nossa estadia. As camas eram especialmente aconchegantes, garantindo uma ótima noite de sono.
Um dos pontos altos continua a ser o serviço de transporte gratuito de/para o aeroporto, que funciona a cada 15 minutos e é muito pontual. Tornou a nossa viagem para o aeroporto muito tranquila.
O pequeno-almoço estava delicioso, com uma grande variedade de opções. No geral, tivemos uma ótima estadia e recomendamos vivamente este hotel pela sua limpeza, conforto e funcionários atenciosos.

Já reservei este hotel várias vezes.
Prós: Ótima localização. Também oferece máquina de café da manhã e opções de café da manhã e jantar.
Contras: Às vezes, a gerência é desorganizada, cometem erros recorrentes com a ampliação do quarto e a distribuição dos alimentos. E, às vezes, os pratos do café da manhã não são devidamente limpos.
No geral: este hotel é mais adequado para viajantes a negócios do que para turistas.

We had an amazing stay at Menlyn Maine. Although our stay was short, the staff were professional. The facilities were clean and well maintained. The location is secure and is very close to Menlyn Mall and other malls and cute restaurants nearby. Our only complaint would be that we could not use the laundry service because it takes long for the clothes to be returned. Aside from that, we enjoyed our stay thoroughly. Would recommended to both non picky travelers and the boujie girls.

O hotel é fantástico, mas a comida, tanto no café da manhã quanto no almoço e no jantar, precisa melhorar. Os funcionários são fantásticos e a gerente que encontrei no dia, uma moça, foi muito simpática. Eu deveria fazer o check-out às 10h, mas me permitiram fazer o check-out às 13h, horário em que embarcaríamos para o nosso voo. Esse tipo de flexibilidade nos faz repetir as reservas neste hotel.

My husband arrived early at the hotel (7am) , tired and exhausted after a long flight and staff were not helpful with getting him into the room atleast a little earlier than the check-in time or offered any other available room , he was told to wait until 2pm to check into his room .
Also , he asked for a halal meal when calling room service and they just told him they don’t have anything , instead of offering an alternative .
I really hope that in future , the service of this hotel would be more helpful .

GGuest UserUpon arrival, check-in at reception was smooth. We were provided with our room key and directed to our accommodation, which required us to drive to the other side of the estate. However, when we reached the room, the key did not work. We walked back to reception, where we were informed that a network issue had prevented the key from being properly programmed. The receptionist, who was very helpful, offered to accompany us to the room and opened it using a master key. She assured us that a functioning key would be delivered as soon as the network was restored.
Upon entering the room, we immediately noticed that it had not been cleaned. The window sill was sticky with what appeared to be beverage spills, the floor was dirty, the bathroom mats were not fresh, and most concerning, there were rat droppings on the window sill, on the floor behind the curtains, and behind the door. I contacted reception to request housekeeping and asked to speak with a manager, as the condition of the room was unacceptable. A housekeeping staff member arrived, but I requested that cleaning not proceed until the housekeeping manager assessed the situation. The manager quickly confirmed that the room had indeed not been cleaned and that there were clear signs of rodent activity. She apologised sincerely, asked us to wait while the room was cleaned, and said she would escalate the matter to the rooms division. While waiting on the terrace outside, we noticed a mouse in the bushes, which explained the droppings found inside.
After the room was cleaned, the manager returned, apologised again, and informed us that a complimentary bottle of wine had been arranged for us. We told her about the mouse we had seen and expressed that we did not feel comfortable staying in that room. She went back to speak with the rooms division, and we waited in the bar. An hour later, she returned with keys to a new room and directed us there. The replacement room was clean, though the entire experience made for a rocky start to our stay.
The following day, after breakfast, we returned to our room to find that the terrace doors had been removed and two maintenance staff were working. This came as an unexpected surprise, as no one had informed us that repairs would be taking place. We decided to return to the bar to allow the work to be completed. As we were celebrating a birthday that day, the housekeeping manager kindly arranged for our room to be decorated with a birthday message.
From that point onward, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay thanks to the exceptional customer service at the restaurants, bars, and spa. In particular, we would like to recognise Moses, Regal, and Tebogo at Kingsley Restaurant; Sibongile at Granatas; and Mandy at the spa for their outstanding hospitality. They truly made our stay memorable.
Overall, despite the challenges we experienced upon arrival, we had a lovely stay. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making my mother’s birthday special.

GGuest UserGood hotel, not far from the city center. There is a shuttle service to the mall, which is very convenient. The rooms are clean and the breakfast is excellent.
What I did not like was the unfriendly receptionist. There was also an unpleasant smell in the room, and the bed sheets were not very comfortable. It would be great if bathrobes and slippers were provided as well.

VVeleI had the best time just relaxing at the hotel . The staff were very friendly and because it was my birthday they upgraded my room and gave me free breakfast . I had an amazing time and I can’t wait to go back .
Room services was also really great and the views were amazing .

The only thing is if you’re booked into a room further away, you must know that if it is raining you have to walk outside and to the entrance to fetch your food orders or get your uber — only downside.

OOmindaA good place if you have a transit or even if you stay in Joburg for few days. It’s little far from the city centre but the location is safe and plenty of restaurants and supermarkets around. Still many scammers around, be careful. Hotel room is little small but worth for money. Has breakfast, restaurant, bar, swimming pool. Airport shuttle van leaving every hour from morning to night.

Holiday Inn was full so this was a close alternative.
Had amenities but their outlets were in the kitchen far from the bed? Not very business traveller or relaxing traveller friendly.
I booked a queen studio which had a kitchenette which was great for warming food etc. Decor a bit tired so could do with some love. But apart from a very dirty bottle left on the balcony it was clean.
Location is excellent for Rosebank Mall even if you have to play chicken to cross the road 😆
Customer service was severely lacking. I thought Radisson Red staff were slow but at least they were always there. You can't call frontdesk . It's all QR codes and WhatsApp. Late check out would be the cost of another night R1980. Staff had a, I dunno attitude and werent very helpful. 1 security guard and 1 young lady in the lounge are the only exceptions. Outlets in the lounge and office were local only and I had to really ask to get where I could buy adapters / converters.
Next time I'll go elsewhere. They're not customer focused enough for me.

WwuhanwolfWhile the property itself is a little dated, it honestly fades into the background because the staff service is exceptional. From check-in to departure, everyone was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which made the entire stay feel effortless. The complimentary airport shuttle runs every 15 minutes and was perfectly on time, making transfers to and from OR Tambo stress-free. And the breakfast — wow. Easily one of the highlights of the stay. A generous spread, well prepared, fresh, and honestly to die for. Overall, a really solid, comfortable hotel that delivers where it matters most: service, convenience, and food. Will be back again.

PPifpafExcellent stay at the Southern Sun in Rosebank. From the reception to the check-in, to the installation in the room, everything went very well. The staff (maintenance, bar, restaurant, reception and security) all worked with a smile. The room was very well equipped and clean. The breakfast was plentiful and very varied. The restaurant had excellent food and very good wine. A special thought to the staff who opened the gate at the back of the hotel every day for us, making it easier for us to leave for the Rosebank lung. The swimming pool, although cool, was always welcome at the end of the day. Even if some minor work was underway in the hotel, we were never inconvenienced. We will definitely be back.
A big congratulations to the hotel and all its staff. We will definitely be back.

NNKAYIt was lovely. Staff were friendly and accommodating and arranged airport pickup. The breakfast was lovely as well as room service. Will definitely stay here again if visiting Jhb. 💕❤️ The rooms were clean although amenities needed to be requested suxh as robes, slippers, shower gel, shampoo etc - not really nice after a long flight. As well as water, so if this could be provided first that would make it even great.
