We had stayed here before in 2018 and had a problem with the air con. This time, we had the same room and the air con still wasn't working properly... For a 4-star hotel you would expect a little welcome pack or at the very least an information leaflet. There was none of that. The kitchenette didn't even have the bare essentials. We had 2 wine glasses for a party of 5, and 3 little glasses which were about 300ml. There was no tea towel or kitchen roll. There was no washing up liquid or dishwasher tablets. The fridge was definitely not at the right temperature and the freezer door wouldn't shut so all our ice melted and went everywhere. We didn't even have a bath mat which is rather silly for a bathroom that has a rain shower over the bath and a slippery floor. We also only had 7 coat hangers and there were 5 of us. As paying guests, you expect the full package that is advertised to you and on one occasion, a wedding party had booked out the entire roof terrace and we weren't told about it, so my aunt went up there to meet her new boss for a drink and they were turned away. The (we assume it was the mother of the bride) looked at my aunt like a piece of dirt when she asked the question why weren't we told about this when we've paid to stay here? There was literally no one from the wedding party up there, so I don't know what her problem was and the bar manager wouldn't serve her and failed to mention that the terrace would reopen to everyone after 5pm (we later found this out at reception), so it seems like she wasn't wanted there full stop just for asking the question. So rude. So we didn't bother going up there again our entire stay. To be honest, they would have made a packet, so their loss. The reception staff and concierge were incredibly friendly and kind. They offered a few recommendations too which was nice. The breakfast was very good too. One of the waitresses offered to immediately get me some veggie sausages as there were none on the buffet. The hash browns and scrambled eggs were incredible. Definitely can't fault the chefs or breakfast staff. So, overall, I would say the hotel and bar management need work along with the general running of the place, but can't fault reception or the concierge. Would only come back if the poor management was rectified.

Confused at the many negative reviews on Trip Advisor, thankfully we booked our room regardless as it is the perfect location when attending a concert at the M&S Bank arena. The room was great, we had a twin corner room overlooking two sides of the hotel - excellent for people-watching! Great room, love the exposed brickwork. Comfy beds and large bathroom; we could have swung multiple cats in there. Staff were super helpful when we asked about dietary needs for breakfast the next morning. Very happy with breakfast, vegetarian and gluten free options - GF bread and cereals, plus the bread is toasted in a separate toaster to avoid cross-contamination. Really impressed. Vegetarian sausage available to order to be brought to the table. My one gripe would be the noisy floors but not much you can do in an old building, thankfully we were tucked away from most of the footfall and noise from people going to breakfast early. Will definitely stay here again, if only for how happy the GF selection made my friend!

I should have listened to those reviewers! It was indeed so hot we couldn't sleep well at all. As a TITANIUM member, they had done everything to make the stay better by upgrading us to a wonderful suite! Didn't check out the restaurant, as there were plenty of wonderful bars, cafes and restaurants located around the hotel. ROOM: We stayed in 603 which was a Penthouse Suite, so this review is based on that; VIEW: sweet view of the station and the heritage buildings outside; SIZE: Very spacious suite with a living room and huge bedroom; AIR-CON: the biggest letdown and FAILURE in the room and the stay!; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part to put me to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand in shower; TOILETRIES: Good spa-quality cosmetics by ACCA KAPPA brand FACILITIES: A really good Gym with a full range of weights and Cardio machines - perfect for a full-on workout! We had our wedding here last Saturday, Rachael made our day perfect. Everything we asked was done without any issues, she was there on the day to make sure we had everything we needed and ensured our day went without any issues. Luckily it was hot enough to be married outside the courtyard looked fabulous with all the little details Rachael did to make it perfect. The inside was just as nice with all our favours, cake and gifts laid out beautifully. All of our guests have been talking about how great the food was many going back for thirds! The staff were great and the whole day was just amazing. Me and my now husband stayed over in the bridal suite, the room itself was fab and again the staff where on hand for anything we needed. I’m so happy we chose here to have our special day. We will definitely be revising for a stay over in the future.

Yes the rooms are small but this is stated on the booking, simply read the description and you will have no need to complain about the size of the room. Great location, for the hustle and bustle of liverpool one and Matthew street . Ben was fab checking us in and even waivered the early check in fee as it was my partner's birthday. Fillipo was great at trying to sort out our tv which would not turn on, offering to switch us rooms (which we declined) but then he offered us late check out free of charge as a way of an apology, the tv definitely isnt a deal breaker as we werent staying in the room til later anyway. I was apprehensive after reading some other reviews and seeing pictures, but I shouldn't have been as u can't fault the hotel or the staff. I am pretty sure we will be returning. Thank you for a pleasant trip :)

The location of the hotel is pretty good, but on the day we arrived and the next day Liverpool had a big event, we closed the road everywhere, we could n’t get in after a few hours of driving, called the hotel front desk and said it might be withdrawn after 12 o'clock The side police said that it might be closed until 2 o'clock, but when it was 4 o'clock in the afternoon, a policeman said that the road was closed 24 hours two days. It is best to find a nearby parking lot, but the parking lot was full. On the remote road, I broke into the restricted area and only checked in. I was told that the car could not be driven out the next day. Fortunately, we stayed for two nights, otherwise I really do n’t know what to do. The room facilities were pretty good. I ordered a kitchen with simple cooking utensils. It was a happy thing to go out and drink a bowl of hot soup. It is also close to several attractions in the city center. If there is no road closure, it should be a good choice.
