The Square hotel Kanazawa was our favourite hotel in Japan so far. 15 minutes walk from Kanazawa Starion and in a great location for our short stay in Kanazawa (we now wish we had booked longer). We walked everywhere, including to the old Samurai district.
3 single beds, 2 were on a platform so that added a bit of Japanese authenticity (a bit). Lovely staff, public bath had tatto restrictions but that’s ok, room bath was really good. I will stay here again when I come back.
Very modern and comfortable room, close JR station, taste breakfast, most amazing thing is free drinks red or white wine, beer, and four kinds of sake from 11 to 20 at main hall.
We had a lovely stay here. The room was actually bery spacious, clean and cozy. Breakfast was good. It is only a short walk from Kanazawa station and super close to everything we need. The staffs are lovely and very helpful. I had an issue to with luggage (i sent from Tokyo) and they were so kind and understanding and helped me have my bags delivered that very night. I was very grateful! Would definitely recommend to other people to stay.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. There are many facilities including laundry room, lounge area (with tea and coffee provided), massage chairs and public spa bath; all of which do not require extra charges). The breakfast was delicious and had many food varieties to choose from.
Although the location is not close to any public transport, the hotel offers free shuttle bus to and from the Kanazawa station every 30 minutes. This is very convenient.

Amazing
MMiaowuThis hotel is super convenient, right next to JR Kanazawa Station. The rooms are large, neat, and clean, and even come with a small kitchen. The service is excellent, and they offer free coffee, Ichiban Shibori beer, and other drinks in the lobby every day – I especially loved the apple sparkling water! It's an outstanding hotel that I highly recommend.
GGuest UserVery good location for being close to the train station, although it's about a 35-40 minute walk to places of interest. There's a 7-Eleven right next door, and a more complete supermarket and restaurants at the station. The rooms are huge for Japan, the beds are very comfortable, and the bathroom is standard for the country. The hotel has a well-equipped gym and a very nice reading room. They do not clean the rooms until after the fourth night. They are not flexible with check-in; for example, after our 4-night reservation, we rebooked another 4 nights, but they made us wait 4 hours between checking out of the first room and checking into the second room. I think they could have paid more attention to us, since we had booked with them again and on a regular basis, but they paid no attention at all.
GGuest UserComfortable stay at a well located hotel in Kanazawa. The rooms were clean and functional, and the overall stay was smooth. The onsen was a nice touch and perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring the city. There is also a laundry room available, which was very convenient during the trip. A good option if you are looking for a simple and comfortable base in Kanazawa.
AAnonymous UserBest was the receptionist! A young and very professional gentleman that helped us with everything along our stay, he normally works in Kyoto but came for a week to the hotel in kanazawa. Hope to see you at the hotel insomnia KYOTO next time we pass through. Highly recommend this hotel!
Some weights at the gym would have been the cherry on top of the cake :)
TTinna~Facilities: A very new hotel.
Cleanliness: Very clean and high-end.
Environment: The transportation is extremely convenient. It truly lives up to its reputation as the number one hotel in Kanazawa.
Service: Excellent.
I stayed for two nights and had a fantastic experience. I'll definitely choose this hotel again if I get the chance to visit Kanazawa in the future.
DDesvsdayThis hotel is very thoughtful. We were traveling by car, and the front desk staff helped us unload our luggage at the entrance before guiding us to parking. The hotel facilities are clean, and the room is quite spacious, with plenty of space to sit and chat. We wanted to go to Kanazawa Station in the evening, and the hotel provided a scheduled shuttle, which was very convenient! There's a shopping mall not far from the hotel, open until midnight.
YYyasThe hotel reception and waitstaff were very friendly and spoke excellent English. The room was very clean, with a simple yet stylish design. In the evenings, you could enjoy soba noodles in the lobby and even order a sake set to chill with friends. I even asked the front desk if I could bring my own snacks to enjoy with the free drinks. It was a very comfortable space. If you're staying for a day or two, I recommend trying the hotel breakfast. Both the Japanese and Western options were delicious, especially the bread 🥯. I bought breakfast every day during my 3-day stay, but I got tired of having the same thing daily 😂. Despite the no-refund policy, I wanted to cancel breakfast on my last day. The staff were very thoughtful and said that even though a refund wasn't possible, I could take away some bread 🖤. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would choose UAN Kanazawa again if I come back.
AAnonymous UserThe room is a bit old and the surrounding environment is a bit remote.
The environment is quiet, and people who like quiet will be very suitable.
The restaurant is good too.
Especially the front desk service of the hotel, the English is very good, the service attitude is also very good, patient and enthusiastic.
YYINGThe design of the Youth Hostel, the room is very small, 90 [%] or more foreigners, no noise and quiet at night. The public restrooms and bathrooms are very clean, the common kitchen pots, pans, knives and forks have everything, and they are spacious and bright. Note that the luggage storage can only be taken away on the same day. It is charged for overnight stays.
