We had an amazing stay at Sunyata Datong. The hotel beautifully blends traditional Chinese architecture with modern elegance, offering a serene and spotless environment that feels both authentic and refined. The hospitality was exceptional — every staff member was polite, attentive, and genuinely caring. Their attention to detail made the experience truly memorable, from the thoughtful room touches to the warm service at every interaction. The team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The breakfast was another highlight, with a wonderful selection of freshly prepared dishes that were both delicious and beautifully presented. A perfect blend of culture, comfort, and heartfelt service — Sunyata Datong is truly a gem and highly recommended for anyone visiting Datong

This hotel is very large and clean. The rooms were very spacious. The only thing is that the heat is 'on' even if you lower the temperature to its lowest setting. Thankfully there was a window to open even though it was -6° outside. The buffet was great with lots of selections. The one & only restaurant for dinner was great. Their large Asian menu provided pictures of all the dishes. The staff in the restaurant was very friendly & helpful. The pool was nice and clean. There was even a lifeguard on duty. The hot tubs were separate in the men's & ladies' change rooms. The only issue was that the front desk staff was very limited with English and there were no concierge services. Other than that we enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

Unfortunately, the overall stay was not great. When we booked the hotel, we specifically requested a non-smoking room, which is essential for us because of health issues. After double confirming with the hotel that they have non-smoking rooms (based on the website, all rooms are non smoking), we paid for our booking. However, shortly after, they informed us that smoking in hotel rooms is common and unavoidable in Taiyuan. We felt deceived into making the payment and realized we were stuck with this accommodation for our 7-day stay. Upon checking in, we had to request a room change due to a strong smoke smell in the original room. The second room was better and the hotel staff was nice enough to provide an air purifier. Throughout our entire stay, people were smoking in the elevator, lobby, and even at the dinner table. If we had known this beforehand, we would have reconsidered staying here. For a 5-star hotel, it did not meet our expectations, and unfortunately, we paid far too much for this experience. The only highlight of our stay was the hotel staff. They were always friendly, helpful, and did their very best to serve the guests, which made our trip a bit more enjoyable. We thank them for their excellent service.

My room was spotless—so clean and fresh, and completely non-smoking, which was a huge plus. I loved relaxing in the bathtub while taking in the view. Breakfast was a solid win with varieties of options, both international and Chinese. My favorite part was the freshly squeezed juice —such a nice touch! The Chinese restaurant downstairs was also great, especially the spicy chicken dish. If you like bold flavors, it's a must-try. The hotel offers four mineral hot bath pools, which looked super clean. They do come at an extra charge, but they seem worth it if you're looking to unwind. Speaking of relaxation, the spa was amazing! The lady massager was incredibly kind, helping me with my lower back pain after a long week of traveling. She even shared a tip—walking backward to ease the pain! The only downside was that during the spring season, there’s no air conditioning. If the room gets a bit warm, you’ll need to open the window for cooler air. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’d definitely recommend this place!

its very beautiful traditional building from the outside. but the interior is modern. its in the center, easy to access to crowded and animated places. At nightime, the place shine beautifullly, a picture snapshot spot. The room is spaciouse, otherwise it is quiet expensive.

Every detail of this hotel was top notch! It was our first time in Datong, and staying at pingcheng hotel was one of the best decision we made! From the moment you arrive they greet you with a welcome drinks and fruits! The foot bath service felt amazing after a long day walking around the grottoes. The hotel is located in the quieter quarter of the ancient city. I would totally go back to stay at this hotel! They even got us a bag of Shanxi souvenirs!💖 The only thing I'd recommend to improve would be the breakfast selection. Adding cheese & ham and some other continental breakfast option would be great for foreign tourists.

The bedding was comfortable and the room design was reasonable, but the room had a noticeable smell of new renovations, and the facilities were generally unacceptable. Despite being advertised as a hotel built in 2025, the toilet sliding door was difficult to open, the bathroom sliding door did not close properly, the TV signal was poor and frequently froze and could not be projected, and the air conditioner made strange noises. It was simply impossible to associate this with the quality of a five-star hotel.

The environment is clean and tidy, the service is patient and considerate, and the front desk butler guidance is quite satisfactory. Will come again. Five-star praise!

Desta vez, quando cheguei a Shanxi, escolhi o Yungang Hotel em Datong.O hotel tem um ambiente novo e a decoração é muito bonita. A casa de banho é muito confortável.Depois de cozinhar e lavar, é muito relaxante e há também uma sala de descanso. O pequeno-almoço era um pouco monótono, mas o jantar era muito rico.Senti especialmente que o pessoal de serviço no jantar de 6 de Setembro, Sra. Wang Gailin, era muito atencioso e acessível. O quarto duplo que escolhi para ficar neste momento é muito bonito. A lâmpada de cristal e o mármore são muito atraentes. O design da banheira aberta é um pouco desconfortável para famílias individuais. Não havia mensageiro quando fiz o check-in. Havia pessoas bebendo e fazendo barulho no saguão quando cheguei e não consegui impedi-las. Por volta das 9h30 da noite, havia homens andando no saguão do primeiro andar vestindo apenas roupas íntimas (alguém os parou e os convenceu a voltar).Espero que haja lugares melhores na área pública.segurança e gestão. No geral, a experiência foi muito boa e vou escolhê-la novamente na próxima vez.

很少寫點評的人 為了他們家花了點時間 盤盤 -設計感十足，旺中帶靜，一進大門放佛是另外一個世界，臨離開的時候一問，老闆花了5000萬打造的，果然是給足設計的自然與人之間的極致體驗感，不奢華但直達心間想要的靜謐，less is more -服務非常好，管家們一定是有着極其專業的培訓，笑臉相迎 第一時間滿足客人需求，會有接駁的接我們拿行李，mini bar free，夜間有甜品，實在是沒有時間吃，每天咖啡也隨時供應豆子也很不錯（與他們同公司的念夏咖啡一樣的豆子） 早餐簡單也豐富，就是太早結束了9:30😂如果可以請在10:30 畢竟是度假客 不是上班不是旅行團 -床品很棒 洗手間裏的細節也很好 還有加濕器 對於久居南方的人很nice -推薦指數 五顆 適合一年四季看風景慢生活 已經推薦了朋友國慶去體驗 -
