The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The kitchen and shower rooms are also very clean. I'll definitely stay here again next time I need a hostel in Christchurch.

Upgraded to a top-floor room as a platinum member. The room wasn't huge, but the view was great. Check-in at the front desk was very friendly; there weren't any Chinese-speaking staff, but communication was smooth. Crowne Plaza Christchurch boasts an excellent downtown location, within walking distance of Victoria Square, the Avon River, and the Cathedral. The rooms are modern, spacious, and very clean, with some offering city and river views. Breakfast is generous, and the service is professional and attentive. The hotel also has a well-equipped fitness center and other facilities. Overall, it was a comfortable and efficient experience, perfect for both business and leisure travelers, making it a top choice for accommodation in Christchurch.

Four of us were traveling, so we booked a suite at this hotel. Let me start by saying that apart from the hotel being new and having good facilities, everything else was pretty mediocre. Facilities: The frying pan provided in the suite couldn't be used with the induction hob, which meant we couldn't heat our food initially. We called the front desk for help, but even they didn't know how to use it and suggested we search YouTube for instructions on how to use an induction hob (our reaction: ???). The front desk also didn't know how to use the in-room phone to contact reception (our reaction: ??? again!). The hotel management team really needs to re-train their staff to ensure every employee is familiar with how to use the hotel's facilities, rather than repeatedly insisting in subsequent communications that there's nothing wrong with the facilities. Hygienics: Pretty average. There were three beds in the room, and the sheets and duvet covers on two of them weren't clean – they had floating lint. Also, the bath towels had very obvious blue pen stains. Service: We contacted the hotel via email the night the issues occurred, and Trip.com also helped us get in touch with the hotel to resolve them. The problems were eventually fixed, but the overall experience remained poor. The hotel's attitude made us feel like we were bringing up existing issues just to get compensation... Finally, there are many better hotels in Christchurch than this one. While it's new, the hotel's service team is a bit lacking. Don't let yourself ruin your trip here.

This hotel is about an 8-minute walk from the Intercity bus terminal. Its convenient location puts major tourist attractions, supermarkets, and restaurants all within walking distance. What I appreciated most was how kid-friendly it is. It started with them gifting my children bird plushies (worth about $15) at the souvenir shop, and there's also a kids' play area. This was a lifesaver when the kids got tired of sightseeing and perfect for burning off energy before bedtime. Regarding amenities, they lean heavily towards sustainability, so if you want to be extra comfortable, it's probably best to bring your own. They provide a hairdryer, iron, towels, shampoo, and coffee/tea, but no water, toothbrushes, bathrobes, or slippers (which might be standard for hotels in New Zealand). Tissues are provided but not replenished when used up. The central heating didn't seem to work very well, which was a shame, but we managed with the extra blankets they provided.

This accommodation is massive. The front desk even gives you a map at check-in to show you where to park and how to get to your room. So, I'd suggest leaving your luggage in the car until you get your room key. The location is unbeatable, right across from the Tekapo Visitor Centre, and within walking distance to the supermarket, dining area, and the Church of the Good Shepherd. However, I do have to mention some downsides. Being close to the lake also means being close to the main road. Even after 10 PM, you can still hear cars driving by. Plus, you can't really stargaze from the balcony because the headlights and streetlights from passing cars are too bright.

Prime location and the absolute best starting point for a trip to the South Island! The biggest advantage of this hotel is its location. It's super convenient to get to downtown Christchurch, making shopping, dining, and sightseeing completely hassle-free. The rooms are standard and straightforward, perfectly adequate for a short stay and a good night's rest. A major plus is the bus stop right outside the entrance, along with car rental and drop-off points all around the neighborhood. This makes it extremely friendly for travelers planning a road trip around New Zealand's South Island, taking away any transportation worries. Whether you've just arrived in Christchurch and are ready to kick off your South Island road trip, or you need a place to unwind briefly after your journey, this is a great choice. Overall, while the hotel itself isn't particularly mind-blowing, its unbeatable location and seamless transit connections make it highly recommended as either your first or final stop on a South Island trip!

This is a truly characterful hotel with spotless and tidy rooms, a wonderfully rich breakfast, and exceptionally polite and attentive staff. The hotel was truly amazing and a wonderful place to call home for a few nights. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything! Oven, microwave, dishwasher, stove, utensils…everything! We were pleasantly surprised that there was a washing machine and dryer too! There is a working fireplace and the views were stunning ❤️Ours was the two bedroom villa; one room has a bathroom attached with a jacuzzi tub and the other bathroom is not attached to the second bedroom. This bathroom has a shower only, no tub. The second bedroom is actually two super singles joined together so you could possibly request for that configuration. We found that the shower stall in the smaller bathroom has a poor design as water flows from the shower through the grooves between floor tiles and makes the whole place wet. This was perhaps the only down side to this place. The good at the restaurant is reasonably priced and wonderful quality. The location of the hotel is strategic for trekking to the Rakaia Gorge and also for driving to Edoras (or Mt Sunday) where LOTR’s filming took place.

We arrived late at night on our first day, and after collecting our luggage, I called, and they responded very quickly. Within a minute or two of us finding Gate 2, the car arrived. Since it was so late, the driver even handled the check-in process for us, which was incredibly convenient. The next day, we had arranged to pick up our rental car and asked if they could drop us directly at the car rental company (I had originally booked a service where the rental company would pick us up from the airport). They readily agreed! We booked a one-bedroom suite, and while it looked a bit basic, it was very spacious and clean, so that was perfectly fine. _The hotel's restaurant was also good; we had one breakfast and one dinner there. Highly recommend for transit travelers.

Honestly, it's rare to find a hostel that's this refined and clean. I think the entire hotel is incredibly well-managed. Both the design and the hygiene are amazing. My favorite part was the bed – the most comfortable one I've slept on in New Zealand. The location is also great, right next to the Botanic Garden. The two-bedroom suite I booked had a private bathroom. The only downside was the Indian guy at the front desk. It felt like he didn't want to serve me, but couldn't outright offend me, so he was just really perfunctory and didn't want to engage. Yet, I saw him being very enthusiastic with other guests, so I don't know if I was being treated differently.
