It’s a very charming place with a real wabi-sabi atmosphere - simple, quiet, and full of nostalgic beauty. Quite old-fashioned, but well maintained. This spot became popular on a Russian platform, so there are many tourists from Russia ( me as well) . When I visited the onsen, there were seven people in total - all Russian girls. Overall, it doesn’t stop you from having a great rest. However, it’s not really suitable for a honeymoon, as my husband and I were separated the whole time — there are no mixed onsens for men and women, probably because the place is now mostly visited by foreigners. When we checked out, they kindly drove us back to the station. I left with a complete sense of relaxation. Thank you!

Este hotel personifica na perfeição a essência do serviço hoteleiro japonês. O café e as bebidas no lobby são especialmente deliciosos, e fica muito perto de atrações turísticas e estações de trem. O Castelo de Hamamatsu também fica a uma curta distância a pé. A desvantagem é que não há muitos restaurantes nas proximidades que agradem ao seu paladar.

The resort is truly remarkable with good food and onsen facilities. My rating is purely based on the resort experience. However, I will like to provide feedback on the reservation experience on trip.com. The pricing indicated on trip.com is not totally transparent. At the time of booking, I indicated 2 adults and a 7yo child to get accurate pricing. The amount was prepaid with a small fee JPY450 to be paid at hotel. At check in, I was shocked to learn that we are expected to pay for the child room rate at JPY22k+. That was not indicated on the “to pay at hotel’. Trip.com customer service officer replied that the requirement was indicated on the email confirmation sent. This is upsetting as I usually used the mobile app and relied on available information to make reservation. It is not my habit to check email confirmation given the information on the app is correct. Pricing should be made transparent at point of booking and not after booking. And out of ‘goodwill’ they offered me a compensation close to 50% of the child room rate. I have been using trip.com since covid and this is my first time having such issue. I hope my experience can benefit others who is booking this accommodation with child.

Clean and well-kept hotel. Love the restaurant setting. Hawaii-theme hotel by the beach. Rate is reasonable, especially during the off-season. High season, a lot more expensive but if you love hotel by the beach with outdoor pool, medium size natural hot spring, this place is worth consideration. Great to go in early to mid February when the Kawazu sakura start to blossom along the river near the hotel - an easy 18-minute walk along the coast from hotel.

Recentemente, me hospedei no Hotel Clad durante minha viagem à região do Monte Fuji e foi uma experiência maravilhosa. A localização é realmente imbatível — situado no topo de uma colina com vistas deslumbrantes do Monte Fuji, especialmente ao nascer e pôr do sol. Acordar com aquela silhueta icônica foi absolutamente inesquecível. O hotel em si oferece um equilíbrio perfeito entre conforto moderno e simplicidade serena. Meu quarto era limpo, bem decorado e projetado com uma estética minimalista que o tornava ao mesmo tempo calmo e funcional. As grandes janelas aproveitavam ao máximo a natureza ao redor, e apreciei a atenção aos detalhes tanto nas comodidades quanto na disposição dos móveis. Um dos pontos altos foi o onsen. Foi um verdadeiro deleite relaxar nas águas termais enquanto contemplava o Monte Fuji — uma experiência que pareceu ao mesmo tempo tranquila e luxuosa. As instalações do onsen eram limpas, bem conservadas e nunca estavam lotadas. O hotel também está convenientemente conectado ao Gotemba Premium Outlets, facilitando fazer compras ou comer algo sem precisar ir muito longe. Apesar da proximidade, o hotel mantém uma atmosfera muito tranquila, o que eu realmente apreciei. No geral, o Hotel Clad é uma base perfeita para quem deseja explorar a região do Monte Fuji com conforto. Seja para fazer trilhas, compras ou simplesmente admirar a vista, ele proporciona uma estadia serena, panorâmica e satisfatória.

Amazing service and onsen facilities. There are both indoor and outdoor, private and public baths to choose from. There are unlimited drinks from the drinks machines and also other complementary food services. Both the meals, breakfast and dinner, were exquisite. It was great to experience traditional Japanese dining. The traditional Japanese building was like a labyrinth and I thoroughly enjoyed exploring the many halls and gardens. The location is also great and there are many shops and temples around the area. All in all the perfect place to have a more traditional Japanese experience whilst receiving excellent service.

Serviço fabuloso e bela vista. Há um parque de madeira e um museu ao lado do hotel. Eu andei da estação Tomei Gotemba até a pousada Dormy e levei cerca de 10 a 15 minutos. Não é difícil se você souber usar o mapa do Google. Há sorvete, geléia, bebidas probióticas e macarrão grátis em determinados horários. Muito delicioso. Artigos de higiene pessoal e onsen fornecidos pelo hotel.

Self checkin is much easier than expected, it highly recommends to make the checkin in advance that the Hotel will send the email to customer. And please make a large sign for self-checkin tablet, it took a half minute to locate the tablet. If you have any problem, just directly press the button “contact staff”, they will process to relevant staff (i.e. speak in Japanese, English or Mandarin). It is walkable distance to the beach, convenience stores 7-11 and Family Mart, and many restaurants. No clear instruction for cleaning, other than that, all is good for our stay.

Most convenient position around the Jr station, very kind frontdesk, I checked in 1 hrs earlier than regulated. Breakfast is decent as well. The room is bigger than I expected, equipment well functioned. Staff is professional, they react quickly and kindly when I ask for help. Highly recommend!

Enjoyed our stay thoroughly, everything was excellent like the service, the room and amenities etc, except maybe the breakfast was a little basic for a hotel like this. Free taxi ride to and fro the hotel (1x each). It's a short walk to the shopping street.
