From the hotel it's about half an hour up the mountain (we walked there). A very nice place on the mountainside with a view of the neighboring Mount Ella and a waterfall, forest all around, local squirrels, an idyll. In general it's quiet, but from time to time a train passes below - a local landmark. It's convenient to start a walk from the hotel to Mount Ella, to the nine-arch bridge, to Mount Adam. Just go down and you're in the epicenter of city life.
Wonderful hostess. The sweetest dog Nikki, we played with her all day.
The room is spacious, with an exit to the veranda, where you can sit and look at the forest. Breakfast is served there.
There is a kitchen with a stove and a kettle, which you can use. In the bathroom, bring your own soap, shampoo, etc. It's cool at night, but there are blankets for that.
The breakfasts are nice: the hostess baked flatbreads, there is toast, fruit, an omelet. Please note:
The lighting in the bathroom is dim, the water pressure is weak, but these are local peculiarities.
As always, there is only one socket. Please note that it needs to be plugged in. There is no TV, kettle, refrigerator, air conditioner, there is a fan and a canopy from insects, but it is not hot here.
A wonderful hotel, we left with regret.

The hotel is excellent, everything you need in the room is there, even slippers, furniture and plumbing have been updated. It is located near the street with restaurants, 5 minutes down the hill. Walking to the start of the trail to the nine-arch bridge is about 20 minutes. We had a room with a stunning view, mountains and a waterfall are visible from the window. Good place for the price/quality ratio

Отель подойдёт тем, кто планирует целыми дня отсутствовать, посещая достопримечательности Эллы и возвращаясь сразу ложиться спать. Я брал обычный номер (кровать, небольшой «стол», стул, тумбочка, душ/туалет. Для меня комната очень маленькая и в кровать я не вмещался (рост 190см).
Но мне очень понравилось гостеприимство хозяина отеля и его друга, они очень дружелюбные и старались создать максимальный комфорт! Есть просторная веранда на первом этаже, где можно скоротать вечер или поработать в ноутбуке. Завтраки вкусные и сбалансированные, что мне тоже очень понравилось, также несколько раз ужинал здесь же - всё понравилось, вкусно!

Very good place to stay with awesome views. The staff took great care off us. Only downside to gaving good views the location is quite far from the city centre. So pick me and uber drivers won't take any rides since the app prices are way cheaper so no choice but to pay tourist fares. Room as an electric fan but AC would have been nice.

The train view chalet is a very special hotel managed by a very friendly and helpful staff. We spent Christmas there and it was quite special, maybe a 20 min ride away from Ella rock/Adams peak/nine arch bridge but it was quite relaxing within the nature, tea plantations, and the train above our heads! Not noisy at all, just unique and beautiful. A must have experience if in Ella. Many upgrades to come for this hotel after speaking to management so it will for sure be better and better :) Thank you!!!

It was a beautiful inn with a very high altitude. It is an inn where the car dispatch app cannot be used very much, but when I contacted the staff of the inn, I arranged a convenient tuk tuk driver to go to the area around Ela station for 1100 rupees one way. In fact, no matter where I went, they put me on 300 to 500 rupees cheaper than other drivers. The room was clean, but it was a pity that the shower toilet door was a little broken ＆ only lukewarm water. However, the outside scenery was really beautiful and the breakfast was delicious. I think it is a good inn overall, such as price.
