Hotéis Pet friendly em Nagano Prefecture, Japan

Met with welcoming and good service staff, start of a great 2-night stay. The breakfast, Japanese and Western were appetising. There are 2 routes to the hotel by car, both will have narrow and winding country roads at certain stretch to and from the hotel. Can be intimidating drive in the night especially when the days are short from November onwards.

Todos os funcionários foram muito simpáticos e nos fizeram sentir confortáveis. Foi útil porque aceitava cães e tinha muitas instalações e comodidades para cães. O quarto era simples e elegante, e quase não havia cheiro de cachorro, o que foi ótimo! Eu gostaria de usá-lo novamente se for para Karuizawa.

Dear Mr. Nakamura, I would like to take a moment to commend your front desk staff member, AWO, for her excellent service during our stay at Courtyard Marriott Hakuba. From check-in to check-out, she was consistently helpful and professional. In particular, she assisted us with booking a bus and later arranging a taxi, always handling our requests with efficiency and a warm attitude. Her support made our stay smooth and enjoyable. Located just within 3min from Yudanaka station, Raki Onsenryokan is run by a Chinese family. As a quiet town on its own, no one was tending to the reception when I arrived, after ringing the bell, a lady came down to help with the check in - very straightforward. I believe the family stays in the same building as they said if we ever needed anything, we could just ring the bell at the reception. Obviously I had booked a room too big for a solo traveller as this was the only room left as ”non-smoking”. Toilet and sink are at two different parts of the room which was a little inconvenient. Ryokan offers free drive (15min) TO snow monkey park, but not return, so please cater at least 35min to walk from park exit to the bus stop. Ryokan also provided a hearty breakfast, overall for the price paid it was a decent stay!

Check in counter is in different building - Square 8 : same owner. No bell staff. I have got room on second floor. Carrying luggage incl. ski equipment quite troublesome. Pet allowed No pajamas provided (rental available) Free stone bath (similar steam+sauna) Free private Onsen like bath (booking required) Free late night porridge (chazuke) & sake Free all day avalible drinks incl. local wine. Minimal breakfast but high quality ingredients.

Since it was cheaper than other ryokans in the area, I didn’t expect much. But to my surprise, it offered full service—just like the more expensive ryokans I’ve stayed at before! They even provided a pickup service from the train station, which I forgot to book. Luckily, a Western couple sitting next to me on the train had reserved it. When I saw the “Hotel Housei” sign on the van outside the station, I hopped in! The hotel is a bit far from the station and involves walking up and down hills, so carrying luggage all the way would have been quite tough. I was really fortunate to catch that ride! Cherry blossoms were in full bloom along the river, just a few steps from the hotel—such a beautiful sight. The room wasn’t large, but it had enough space and was very comfortable. The elderly gentleman at the front desk seemed to speak multiple languages—he even knew some Thai! He was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The onsen was wonderful. The indoor bath was a bit too hot for me, but the outdoor bath was cooler and more relaxing. Breakfast was a buffet, which was decent. In conclusion, this place was absolutely worth it. Next time, if I go skiing in Shiga Kogen or bring someone to see the snow monkeys, I’ll definitely remember to book the pick-up and drop-off service in advance!

Bringing the dog to stay together, very satisfied in all aspects. The hotel is about a 15-minute walk from Karuizawa Station, and there is a free shuttle service, which is very considerate. The hotel facilities are very clean. Although it is a pet hotel, the rooms and public areas do not have any unpleasant smell. Both indoor and outdoor are equipped with a dog run and a dog salon where you can take photos. It was fun to communicate and play with other dogs in the public area. During the stay, you can also soak in the hot springs, and adults can also relax and enjoy. In short, it was a very satisfying experience. Next time I go to Karuizawa, I still want to take the dog!

Old ryokan but everything was clean and village was really peaceful. Onsen in the hotel is really the og onsen experience. Owner of the ryokan is an incredible guy, hospitality was 10/10
