Met with welcoming and good service staff, start of a great 2-night stay. The breakfast, Japanese and Western were appetising. There are 2 routes to the hotel by car, both will have narrow and winding country roads at certain stretch to and from the hotel. Can be intimidating drive in the night especially when the days are short from November onwards.

From check-in to check-out, she was consistently helpful and professional. In particular, she assisted us with booking a bus and later arranging a taxi, always handling our requests with efficiency and a warm attitude. Her support made our stay smooth and enjoyable. Todos os funcionários foram muito simpáticos e nos fizeram sentir confortáveis. Foi útil porque aceitava cães e tinha muitas instalações e comodidades para cães. O quarto era simples e elegante, e quase não havia cheiro de cachorro, o que foi ótimo! Eu gostaria de usá-lo novamente se for para Karuizawa.

Old ryokan but everything was clean and village was really peaceful. Onsen in the hotel is really the og onsen experience. Owner of the ryokan is an incredible guy, hospitality was 10/10

We loved our stay! We were staying at Fujiya Ryokan to go skiing at the nearby slopes. It was a peaceful, private and clean place to come back to. Would highly recommend.

今回、8月の白樺湖花火大会を見る為に利用しました。7月に予約する事になりましたが、値段はやや高い位で済みました。サービスははっきり言って悪い。レストランと併設されているが、フロントに基本人がいなくてレストランに行く必要がある。レストランに行く時もホテルと繋がってる従業員専用通路は使えず、一度外に出てからレストランに入る必要がある。部屋も風呂場に黒カビがあった。部屋のライトのスイッチが少しわかりづらい。ただしロケーションは悪く無い。今回湖側の角部屋だったが花火はよく見えた。 レストランの食事は美味しかった。朝食付きプランの食事はボリュームが結構あった。

Located just within 3min from Yudanaka station, Raki Onsenryokan is run by a Chinese family. As a quiet town on its own, no one was tending to the reception when I arrived, after ringing the bell, a lady came down to help with the check in - very straightforward. I believe the family stays in the same building as they said if we ever needed anything, we could just ring the bell at the reception. Obviously I had booked a room too big for a solo traveller as this was the only room left as ”non-smoking”. Toilet and sink are at two different parts of the room which was a little inconvenient. Ryokan offers free drive (15min) TO snow monkey park, but not return, so please cater at least 35min to walk from park exit to the bus stop. Ryokan also provided a hearty breakfast, overall for the price paid it was a decent stay!

Just wanna share my experience of staying in this beautiful hotel. 1- The location and the views from the hotel are just amazing! Especially during sunsets! 2- The personal and stuff of the hotel are super super friendly, if I could I would give 10 stars for the hospitality. 3- Onsens and the view are something out from this world 4- What I was really amazed is the kitchen and the chef that is cooking. If you stay in this hotel I highly recommend take the breakfast and dinners. You will have a high class food with a presentation and explanation of each dish by the servant. Best experience 5- Last but not the least I forgot my speaker in the hotel. The stuff brought it back the same day to me to another hotel I moved after NISHIHOPPO. So guys, less words more actions! 10 stars to this amazing hotel and it’s owner. My respect.

Very Good
OO.K. MACSince it was cheaper than other ryokans in the area, I didn’t expect much. But to my surprise, it offered full service—just like the more expensive ryokans I’ve stayed at before! They even provided a pickup service from the train station, which I forgot to book. Luckily, a Western couple sitting next to me on the train had reserved it. When I saw the “Hotel Housei” sign on the van outside the station, I hopped in! The hotel is a bit far from the station and involves walking up and down hills, so carrying luggage all the way would have been quite tough. I was really fortunate to catch that ride! Cherry blossoms were in full bloom along the river, just a few steps from the hotel—such a beautiful sight. The room wasn’t large, but it had enough space and was very comfortable. The elderly gentleman at the front desk seemed to speak multiple languages—he even knew some Thai! He was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The onsen was wonderful. The indoor bath was a bit too hot for me, but the outdoor bath was cooler and more relaxing. Breakfast was a buffet, which was decent. In conclusion, this place was absolutely worth it. Next time, if I go skiing in Shiga Kogen or bring someone to see the snow monkeys, I’ll definitely remember to book the pick-up and drop-off service in advance!

TTonleewOur stay at Poetical was truly one of the most memorable experiences of our trip in Japan. From the peaceful atmosphere surrounded by beautiful nature to the warm hospitality of the owner, everything felt so special and heartfelt. My husband and I were deeply touched by the kindness and care we received throughout our stay. The homemade meals were absolutely delicious, every dish was prepared with so much love and attention, making us feel completely at home. Thank you for creating such a beautiful place filled with warmth, comfort, and unforgettable memories. We already miss Poetical and hope to come back again in winter to see this lovely place covered in snow ❄️

LLONGFUIt’s the photos taken by mobile phones inside and outside the store. The small hotel run by the old couple is not far from the Yudanaka tram terminal. In the town of hot springs, it’s good to have a 24-hour hot spring bathhouse. The owner is very good. Gentle was able to personally drive us to the foot of the mountain in the Wild Monkey Park to see the monkeys washing in the hot springs. It is a lot more convenient for us. Shared toilets are the place I am least used to, but overall I am satisfied.
