Needed a hotel for the night before flying out of Dublin. This hotel fit perfectly. Staff was excellent, room was clean and spacious enough, grounds were also clean and orderly. Hotel attached to lobby with good food albeit on the more expensive side, but that’s to be expected. The hotel has a shuttle to and from the airport which was immensely useful and saved on additional fare costs. The shuttle was later than the posted bus schedule, but arrived soon enough after our flight and did not have to wait to long. Shuttle also drops you off right at your terminal to make next day travel easier. Overall a fantastic short stay. Only thing of note would be that the WiFi, while good and complimentary to the room, would constantly drop and have to be reconnected too, but aside from that, greatly enjoyed my stay here.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel is ideally located, very close to Dublin Heuston train station. With bus and tram stops nearby, it's incredibly convenient for exploring city center attractions. As an express hotel, the rooms are quiet and comfortable, though they are a bit compact and lack a kettle and a desk. Otherwise, everything was perfectly fine.
GGuest UserWe had an overall great experience at this hotel. It is in a quieter area of Dublin but there is plenty to see and do just a short walk away including Trinity College, the National Museum of Ireland galleries and within 15 minute walk of most major attractions. They also had good connections to the airport using the Dublin Express Bus that had quite a few stops nearby. There are some very good restaurants a short walk away from this hotel and the Leap Card can get you pretty good public transportation around the city.
The hotel has studio style kitchenette apartments. We were surprised with how well equipped the little kitchens were which included multiple cooking utensils and pots. They had a Nespresso machine, kettle, toaster, mini fridge (stocked with some milk), microwave/oven and a mini dishwasher. Dishwasher tablets, dish soap, sugar, salt, pepper and a few other things were conveniently included. We made ourselves breakfast each day we were here which was easy to do because there is a Tesco Express and possibly the best bakery in Dublin just around the corner with Bread 41.
The room was pretty good with plenty of outlets and even though it was a bit small there was enough space for our two large suitcases and bags. They have a small seating area with a table, a large flat screen TV, good WiFi and good lighting. The bathroom was pretty good too but we weren't a fan of the partition because it does not cover the full shower area and it was easy for water to get out of the shower. They have an all in one body wash too. The room was mostly quiet but we were there on New Year's Eve and there was one lady who had a very loud complaint in the hallway around 3 in the morning for around 15 minutes.
The staff are very kind and helpful. They had no room left in their luggage storage when we arrived so they allowed us early check in which is usually 20 Euros. They have a WhatsApp ”AI” chat that you can request service through and we used it for extra towels that came up pretty quickly.
The hotel has some amenities including a small restaurant/bar that has some food and coffee and paid laundry machines. Breakfast here costs 15 euros if you pre-book but if you want it the morning of it is 17 Euros. The one thing we found tricky about the hotel is that we had to use the elevator to go up and down even though we were on the first floor because all the stairwells are locked up for safety/fire protocol.
Overall, a good stay for our first time in Dublin and we would consider staying here again or recommending to friends and family with similar interests to ours.
GGuest UserThe bunk beds have curtains, and the four-person room is clean and comfortable with soft mattresses. There are lockers, and the bathroom is also spacious and stylish. Breakfast includes eggs, milk, bread, and a variety of fruits. You can borrow a hairdryer from the front desk. Common areas like the living room are very quiet.
TTeacherTravelTimesI decided to ditch staying in the city centre based on my below par experiences there on my last trip. When looking on Trip.com, Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel in Dalkey was the same price as several dorm rooms in the city centre when I looked.
Getting there from Dublin Airport was relatively straightforward. I took and Aircoach from the airport to Dalkey/Ulverton Road and then walked for about 15 minutes. Up to the hotel entrance.
The hotel is fairly old fashioned but personally I found it very charming. The staff were well-trained in the art of hospitality, the rooms were clean, locals were in and out of the bar, restaurant and leisure centre.
Furthermore, the room was spacious with tea and coffee making facilities. The tv had a nice range of channels and the bathroom had a working shower and an abundance of towels. One thing missing was a toothbrush, toothpaste and shaving kit. I was told that you can get slippers on request as well.
Get the breakfast. It’s €16 and it’s a buffet style with a delicious selection of hot and cold food. There’s rashers, sausages, hash browns, pancakes, the works. I wish I could’ve eaten more! I loved that they had a wide range of ages working there as well. One of the staff tripped when she went to ask if everything was ok and she said ‘I’m fine, I’m falling for you!’ It was then that I knew that I was home.
The leisure centre is one of the best I’ve come across in a while. I’ve stayed in so many places where it’s literally an empty room with a few bits of old equipment but they had loads of weights, treadmills, bikes, etc. They do classes and physiotherapy as well. The pool and jacuzzi were also excellent. Plenty of ages in both as well but it wasnt overcrowded so you’ll get a few lengths in if you want.
Lastly, make sure to go for a walk about Dalkey and the surrounding areas. I spent the morning walking down to the Vico Baths, the Forty Foot (both swimming locations) and passed through Dalkey Village. Plenty of people will be out with their family and friends whether it be for a walk, bike ride, swim or a coffee and a chat. Ditch Dublin City and say yes to Dalkey!
GGuest UserThe Bonnington is usually my go to hotel in dublin, however the stay before this and now this stay has made me look for somewhere else in future. The staff as always were exceptional, however our room was incorrectly rang my reception at 5am, (and on a previous stay we were awoken in the middle of the night by a false fire alarm, so a full nights sleep is not a guarantee).
What was the most frustrating is the general disrepair of the hotel. The rooms are fairly small so for the higher price point you are really paying for the facilities. The smaller issues like furniture being old and leather chairs peeling and flaking were not a big problem, just a mild annoyance. However the bath/shower leaking everywhere when used from the base of the tub and leaving the floor soaking wet, the steam room being out of order and us not being informed of this when or even after booking, and the crowdedness and of the pool and other facilities because of non hotel users with memberships to the leisure clubs taking up the whole hot tub and sauna at once in personal groups was frustrating.
The room was also extremely hot, and the AC very very loud while not actually doing much to cool the room. There was nothing particularly stay ruining about it however if you’re paying over 200 euro for one night somewhere you would expect things to be at least average.
The main redemption was the friendliness and kindness of the staff.
CCeitidhExcellent hotel and very friendly staff. There is a shuttle to the airport that the reception staff will book for you upon check in. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you have an early flight the next day.
GGuest UserMy husband and I had been planning this trip to Dublin for quite some time. And when we found this beautiful boutique hotel online, we were so excited. As soon as we arrived And checked in, there was a lot going on in the lobby area, so it was a little overwhelming. We saw a lady at the desk, but we weren’t sure that she actually worked there because she didn’t greet us. Didn’t even look our way. It seemed like she had a general disinterest or disdain for us being there. I asked, “Is this the front desk to the hotel?” To which she responded in a monotone voice, “Yes.” I was shocked that this was the first impression of the hotel that we were getting. What made it worse was that my husband was told that we needed to put a card on hold and he proceeded to tap his card thinking that it was like all the other places we had been to in Ireland. But it didn’t work. Several times he tapped it and it showed nothing. He asked the lady, “does your tap work? Do you have tap?” To which she replied a curt, “no.” Mind you, she was standing there the entire time and could see the entire situation. This interaction was such a bummer, and this made our short trip to Dublin feel a little sour.
To be honest, not all of the stuff was like that morning. We woke up to get a coffee downstairs, and the gentleman that works at the coffee bar was very warm. A young Spanish speaking man. He was absolutely amazing; patient and willing to answer any questions About the items on the menu And the different pastries available.
Overall, the hotel was a mixed bag. It had a very chic vibe but outside of that lovely gentleman, their customer service can definitely improve!
CColin CraigThe hotel is beautiful and steeped in history. Breakfast was very nice and location is convenient for the airport. My only issue was we stayed in room 003 and in the morning about 4am delivery trucks starting driving back and forth down the side alley which actually woke us up as the window was open. One of the trucks even decided to back up down the alley with a constant beep beep beep which was really annoying. I'm not sure why he just didn't turn around but clearly he chose not to. The other small issue was the shower took forever to drain but this is an easy fix which the hotel said they would look after. Other than that, the stay was wonderful.
GGayatri GallowayKnowing The Address from Dubai, I knew I could expect quality. Located on a main road across Connolly station, the train noises were only noticeable on the outside.
As we arrived very early we accepted the first available room after an hours wait in the beer garden. We don’t normally accept twin rooms but as I was unwell we took it. A clean, classy, modern room, in comparison to which the bathroom with a bath looked a bit outdated. But the room had our fave rooibos tea!
The hotel has ample F&B choices: a bar, cafe, restaurant and a ‘beer garden’ - a cute one too with useful heaters on the wall.
Service in these areas however lack protocol, which we always seek in hospitality.
The gym situated at the end of the premises is a public one, which means there’s non-hotel resident traffic through the corridors.
It took us a moment to realise and a confirmation from the concierge that the hotel also houses ‘temporary residents’ evident from my fellow smokers in the beer garden and the children in their school uniforms having their breakfasts in one of the bar areas.
We didn’t expect this from The Address chain. It reflects the reality Ireland is coping with.

GGuest UserThe room was lovely and clean, bed was so comfortable, and I had control over the thermostat. Bathroom was large with good water pressure and complimentary robe, hot chocolate, tea, coffee and cookies. The front desk woman was excellent at her job, even remembering my room number when I asked for access to the gym after checking in. Dinner at the Mayfly was quiet and delicious (fish and chips) and Katie was an excellent server. The gym appears to be recently redecorated but the machines are low-end, outdated concept 2 bikes and rowers and a strange non automatic (manual?) treadmill. The free weights were new and I preferred these to the machines. If strong cardio matters to you during your stay, spend more to stay at the Hilton with its Peloton contract. If not, stay here. Breakfast was a little odd. Granted I did walk in 9:35 when breakfast closes at 10, but as soon as I started taking food from the buffet a woman started clearing the condiments away. She also told me that coffee and tea were served table side but after asking someone for coffee, I was told “I’ll be with you shortly” and she never returned. I ended up serving myself the coffee from the carafe. I don’t mind a self-serve breakfast but management should doublecheck with the breakfast servers. I noticed that all of the other guests (men) had coffee, but I’m not sure if they, also, served themselves. All in all, it was a lovely and relaxing stay, and the room felt very lux. 4/5 stars
