We booked last minute after arriving late in the evening at Heathrow following a 14hour travel day with our 3 year old. The staff were so lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming, doing everything they could to make sure we had what we needed in the evening and for breakfast- even bringing it to our room. The room had 2 double beds and was clean, quiet and very spacious- ideal for our needs. Perfect for a pit stop if you’re travelling via Heathrow. Will definitely use it again.

It is a nice property. I think in summer it would be especially nice. I arrived and left in dark hours. Room was nice . Bedding and amenities were good. Tea and coffee in room. Hair dryer fan and ironing board in cupboard. The breakfast was very good. Cereal, juice, tea and coffee , fresh fruit and cooked breakfast. Only one thing which was a let down was cleanniness in communal areas. Especially in restaurant , carpet with bits on it and floor that looks in need of mopping was a put off. It is a simple fix . I would stay again.

Pretty gross: half of the lights didn't work, no hot water at sink tap, carpets & bathroom floor were filthy & stained & caked dirt in corners, mold in shower. For a twin bed room, we got one bath towel & one hand towel only. Positives: quieter than I thought it would be, clean sheets on beds, hot water in shower stall, didn't charge for parking. Deep cleaning would go a long way to help this place.

At first sight this guest house looked ideal for a family stop before a visit to Legoland. Rooms were clean and spacious. On the negative side the showers were poor in the en-suite we had. The one in the shared bathroom ( all en suites had been sold out) was a safety hazard. Luckily I didn’t use it for the children as it went from cold to scalding hot in seconds with no rhyme or reason. The toilet was dirty (as in not been properly cleaned). Doors were constantly slamming shut due to the door fittings. Adding this to a less than comfortable bed resulted in a poor nights sleep. There was absolutely no contact with the hosts other than through an intercom. Perhaps the latter is the sad state of the “hospitality” industry.

I know i will arrive London Heathrow late. So I tried to choose a hotel not far from airport to crash out a night before heading to London. I choose Holiday Inn Slough Windsor because I think instead of stay in airport hotel, at least I can go take a look at Windsor castle in the morning - there is no much different between 20 minutes Uber and 12 minutes to most of the airport hotel near Heathrow Airport. In fact I arrived 4 hours later than I should be - checking in after midnight...very smooth. As I am Platinum member of IHG member , I was pre-assigned executive room on 8th floor. Looking inside room, I have to say this room is better than my expectation of Holiday Inn: with Lavazza Coffee Machine, with slipper and all necessary amenities. In the morning I called a Uber to Windsor Castle just take a look. It cost between 7 - 9 pounds one way, about 8 minutes. Hotel to Slough Station, another 8 pound, about 6 minutes. Slough Station to Paddington, 10.8 pounds on GWR , 18 minutes. Overall the 2 hotel staffs I met, all very kind and friendly, everything is very smooth, everything works. It is by far better than a convenient hotel only , it is a very decent hotel and especially if you drive , there is ample car park, and good value to visit London and nearby area.

Stayed here for 5 nights (Sep 17-22). Check in was the better part: easy and friendly front desk although no acknowledgment of being a Bonvoy member (not big deal). However, I forgot to ask, and they did not give me the WiFi code; more on that later. Room was fine upon entering. But then started to notice things: dead light bulb, dust on the nightstands, top of the desk with peeled skin (wear and tear), and of course the TV. Now that is something from the 1990s: a 30 inch old TV, grainy picture, and a very limited number of channel with only BBC and a couple showing very old movies from 1980s. You can only watch SkySports at the bar but not in the room. The next day I ended up taking a shower in a puddle as the tub did not drain well. I told the front desk and the staff who happened to be the manager took very good notes and said he’d have it fixed right away. Well, after coming back in the evening, I checked the tub and sure enough still clogged so went down to the front desk and another staff member (appeared very embarrassed) spent a few minutes and then offered to change the room. So, after about 30 min fiddling with the reservation system on their computer we moved into another room. For some odd reason my 5-day visit was done under two reservations: 4 days as one and the last day as another one. On the 4th day reception called to move me into a suite due to the 2nd reservation. I talked to the Front Desk staff and offered that staying at the same room for the same rate was fine. The junior staff agreed as the room was available and started processing but then ran into a problem on their computer system. He asked his manager for help and he promptly rushed by, summarily waved his hand, completely ignored my presence, mumbled something like “it can’t be done,” and walked away. The junior staff was clearly embarrassed and apologized and said he'd ask another hotel manager to keep me in the same room. I asked for the manager’s name (Lloyd) and said that his behavior was rude, not professional, and not that of somebody in the hospitality business. Lloyd showed up after the room situation was resolved and apologized for his behavior. Frankly, nobody needs drama, disrespect, and being treated like a nobody. After all, I was a paying guest and a long time Marriott member!! New room was a copy of the old room except the drain was not clogged. Then the next day I noticed the bathroom bulb was dead. Called the Front Desk from room, but nobody would pick up. Within a span of 30 min I called several times but nobody would pick up, so I walked down to report it to the Front Desk. Problem was solved next day. And now the WiFi: could not find the WiFi code so later called the Front Desk but again nobody would pick up. Another in person trip down to the Front Desk and asked why they wouldn’t pick up. Answer: oh, we didn’t see the phone ring! During the entire stay the corridor on our floor always had a minimum of 3 room servi

I loved my stay here. Perfect if you're heading to the airport first thing in the morning. So close to the airport bus, got there within 15 mins. There was also a free breakfast before I left. Overall great stay!

Mercure London Heathrow - Saturday 19th November 2022 - 15:15 Entrance is on street level door and has automatic doors. On arrival there was a coach party queuing and the queue went out the main door. I joined that queue and eventually checked in approximately 20 minutes after I joined the queue. The male receptionist seemed flustered and the female receptionist didn’t seem to be doing much. I’ve checked into other hotels where I have been part of a coach group and they normally make us all stand to one side and then call individuals/ couple over to check in; that way when other guest arrive at least one of the receptionist can switch to the new guest and then they don’t have to join a long queue and be inconvenienced. Our room was on the ground floor but I did see lifts. Room: The usual things like a hairdryer, iron in the wardrobe, fridge and safe in a cupboard and on top of the cabinet was the coffee/ tea facilities but no spoons to stir your drinks. Big TV - there seem to be a decent amount of channels my only issue was the back of the control was missing so you had to jiggle the batteries to get it to work; I took a photo just in case they try to charge me for damage. Bed was comfy, pillows were ok. There is a lamp and spotlight either side of the bed. The switch on the wall by the bed operates the main light, you switch the lamp/ spotlight off using two black buttons under the arm of the lamp; not an obvious way to control the light. A desk with lamp and phone, quite handy if you have some work to do. Bathroom: Floors a bit weird, it looks like they have stuck some Christmas paper over the original tiles to cover something up, poor workmanship, looks cheap, not a good look. Usual towels and shampoos and things; I was going to use the bath mat in the shower but when I saw how dirty and stained it was I didn’t bother. The sealant around the sink and bath taps needs redoing and there is rust around the bathroom taps. Toilet handle is a bit loose and it took 3 attempts to get it to flush. Parking: There are two levels to the parking, I drove into the top level, very tight parking and for a hotel of this size there isn’t enough spaces. I informed the reception I’d parked my car and was informed of the £16 charge for 24 hours. I paid my fee and entered my registration on a system. Bar: Small bar but plenty of seating. We asked a member of staff at what time the bar closed and we were told last orders were at 22:45 which would imply if you went to the bar at this time you could still get a drink. At 22:40 they were cashing up the till. Initially when you walk in the room it looks really nice but then you notice the faults. This morning I went to get something from the car and as I walked through reception you could see the tables from last night hadn’t been cleared as they still had glasses on tables from last night.
