First of all the B&B is beautiful and very clean. The Chinese breakfast was delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful with us. Communication was easy before our arrival. They pick us by car at the railway station for free, which was very convenient for us! We asked them to arrange a car and a driver to go to Hanging Temple and to the Yungang Grottoes in the same day. Everything was perfect! It was the weekend of Qingming day and the Hanging Temple was very crowded and we could not book tickets in advance. Thanks to the hotel staff we managed to buy tickets and to visit the hanging temple ! Then they drove us to a typical restaurant of Datong and we had a very good lunch with noodles, and then we go to the grottoes. Thank you again to the hotel staff for this stay !! Highly recommended!

They provide free pick-up service from the high-speed rail station. With my elderly relatives carrying a lot of luggage, they were waiting on time and helped with the luggage the whole time. They even proactively recommended gentler routes suitable for seniors, saving us the trouble of planning the trip ourselves. The rooms were very clean and tidy, with meticulous attention to hygiene. The breakfast was also excellent – ​​clean, delicious, and our elders were very satisfied, significantly enhancing our travel experience! Wow, I loved this homestay! The lively and kind lady who runs Yishui homestay is a good English speaker and very patient, so foreigners as well as Chinese will feel at ease staying here. It is a very hospitable atmosphere! Location is in the pedestrianized part of the old city, very near the Drum Tower. Therefore, there is lots to see/do/eat while walking nearby. But the location is also not far from the driving road, so it was an easy, short walk to meet my driver when going out to the hanging temple, the grottos, and the train station. The facility is an old-style courtyard home, with a beautiful wood-beam ceiling. The interior rooms are completely renovated and modernized, with great water pressure, all necessary toiletries, an excellent quality hair dryer, slippers, and super air-con/heating! (It was -3 one night during my stay, but I was warm and comfy in that room!) Clean towels are brought daily. Breakfast was included in my stay and I was very happy with the food. It is an ample Chinese-style breakfast, and you can inform the cook if there is some food you don't/can't eat. Although the breakfast was plenty of food for me, I saw a guest ask for more baozi, and he was kindly given 2 more. Fresh fruit was also offered for free several times during my stay. Within a 5 minute radius (walking), there are many eating places for lunch, dinner, snacks, and tea/coffee. The north gate area is quiet, and it's an easy stroll to the ancient city center. The room was clean and tidy with excellent facilities. What impressed me most was the bed – the mattress was just right, not too soft and not too hard; once I lay down, I didn't want to get up. Brewing a pot of tea and reading a book, with the silhouette of the ancient city wall outside the window, that sense of tranquil relaxation amidst the hustle and bustle is something I hadn't experienced in a long time. I must particularly praise the service. The owner hadn't eaten after returning from the Hanging Temple late at night, and one of the staff members ran out to buy instant noodles for him. These small details really warm your heart. The free pick-up service was hassle-free, and the owner even helped me book a reservation at Fenglin Pavilion. The welcome fruit and snacks were also perfectly arranged. The inn allows pets without any extra charge. Although I was traveling alone this time, seeing other guests with their dogs sunbathing in the courtyard felt incredibly heartwarming. The biggest fear when traveling alone is staying somewhere desolate, but here, the elegance of the designer courtyard, the warmth of the housekeeper, and the tranquility of the ancient city wall made me feel incredibly well taken care of.
