"We booked two rooms this time, and the owner was incredibly warm and hospitable! They were very patient from booking to check-in and enthusiastically recommended nearby delicious food and fun places. Both rooms were clean and tidy, very comfortable to stay in, and my family was very satisfied. The owner was also very quick to respond to any requests, which was very heartwarming. The overall experience was great, and it was good value for money. We'll definitely choose this place again next time we visit. Highly recommended!"

The inn is located in the ancient city of Pingyao, a world cultural heritage. It has a traditional quadrangle courtyard pattern. The inn is adjacent to Majia Courtyard, North Street, Mingqing Street and other scenic spots. It is very convenient for shopping, shopping and sightseeing. The rooms are clean and hygienic, with a separate bathroom, 24-hour hot water bath, and wireless Internet access. The inn is guest-oriented and people-oriented. With reasonable price, high-quality service and beautiful environment, every tourist can live comfortably and have fun!
"Fantastic value for money. I really liked the room. Shower and bathroom were great. Bed was comfy. The hotel is in a quiet street a little bit outside of the main streets which for me was a big plus. It's not too far away and way quieter. The owner/husband picked me up and dropped me off at the north gate. They have a fridge where you can pay for drinks per qr code.
2 water bottles a day for free in the room.
The wife gave me a map with explanations and an itinerary idea. Super nice!
Improvement ideas:
- Water refill from a big jug to safe on plastic
- English explanation on how to book the Pingyao 3 day ticket on WeChat (I figured it out myself but a small guide would be cool)
- some way to close blinds so people can't look in without having to shut off all daylight.
Would recommend the place and would book again without looking for anything else."

With Pingyao Railway Station just 3km away and Taiyuan Yaocheng Airport only 40km away, transportation is very convenient. Keeping busy is easy, with Weishengchang, Pingyao County Government Museum - Land God Shrine and Emperor Guan Temple all nearby. After a long day of sightseeing, guests can retire to the comfort of the hotel. If you demand a high level of service, our guests have indicated that this hotel has excellent standards. This hotel is a popular accommodation for guests traveling alone.
"If you want a more authentic experience than staying in a fancy hotel, this is your place. Mrs Liu (sp?) was so lovely and helpful. She speaks a bit of English and is very fast on the translation apps for what she doesn’t know. She gave us a map of the Ancient City and explained where we should visit. Every day she gave us water bottles. We stayed 2 nights.
You can experience a kang bed here, in a cozy room in a quaint courtyard. It was quite firm but still comfortable. There is air con which was needed when we were there. The bathroom is small but we found that everything didn’t get wet, despite the small size of the room.
The inn is on the “taxi-bus” route just off South Street. As it is a block from the Main Street it is significantly quieter as the honking of “taxi-buses” doesn’t happen as much in the alleyways. Just be careful to walk on the sides of the road as the mopeds and taxi-buses are electric so quiet, except for the honking which is loud and constant, and they drive quite fast for the size and busyness of the streets.
There is plenty of food places just a short walk away from the hotel. The ancient city was a lot more touristy than we had expected.
You need to prearrange with the innkeeper to organise a “taxi-bus” to pick you up from the South Gate. Regular cars are not allowed inside the city wall. We were dropped by the DiDi but it is too far and busy to walk with luggage to the inn. Mrs Liu and her husband helped us out with their mopeds.
Not many “taxi-bus” drivers know the inn as it is a smaller private hotel, so make sure you have the address printed out to show them. The taxi-bus is 10RMB pp per ride and you can flag them down anywhere on the streets they are allowed on, but they may not want to go where you want to go, so just flag another one until you get one that agrees. You scan the drivers QR code to pay.
Overall we enjoyed our stay at Pingyao Yunshu Inn."

The bedding is also very comfortable to sleep. The only drawback is that the smart toilet is the most unbearable. Which ** design is flushed when you want to sit down. Even if the water pressure is low, there is always a splash, the whole person's mood is very irritable! How much harm is the infection caused by bacteria splashing on the toilet for women? "A beautiful guesthouse, the rooms are beautiful too. Bed is big and comfy, very clean and the bathroom is modern despite how traditional the building is. Also has great heating if desired. The family that runs the guesthouse is so so sweet. Their food is also delicious and a great option for a quick breakfast (the buns are to die for). Excellent location. All in all would definitely come back and recommend this place."

"This homestay really exceeded expectations! The location is excellent, just in the ancient city of Pingyao, not far from the north gate entrance. It is very convenient to walk over from the north gate parking lot. There are many restaurants around, so you don't have to worry about eating. The store service was particularly warm and intimate, and we took the initiative to upgrade the room when we checked in. The whole house is clean and tidy, the courtyard is antique, the carved wooden building is matched with red lanterns, full of Pingyao charm. Staying at Yushe Guest House was hands down the best decision of our Pingyao trip! We felt so lucky to have found this gem.
The location is unbeatable—super close to the South and East Gates, 文庙, and 城隍庙. It’s only a few minutes' walk to South Avenue! On top of that, the place has brand new facilities, and most importantly the owner is incredibly warm and welcoming. ❤️
He shared so much about Shanxi’s vinegar culture with us and gave us excellent local tips on how to plan our sightseeing. He even arranged rides for us to see the Pingyao show and the free light show. It honestly felt like a home away from home (he even checked in on us when we stayed out late exploring😭🫶🏻)
Though our stay in Pingyao was brief, it was such a highlight of our trip, largely thanks to staying here. Highly, highly recommend! 🌟"

Guest UserThe whole family with the elderly and children stayed in Qichen, and the experience exceeded expectations! The courtyard is spacious and safe, the children can run freely, the room space is sufficient, the bed is comfortable to sleep, the hygiene is particularly in place, and the elderly are very satisfied. The housekeeper prepared fruit intimately, took the initiative to help carry large luggage, planned the easy parent-child play route in detail, and avoided the crowded crowd. The homestay is quiet and not noisy, the quality of rest is very good, not far from the ancient city attractions, and travel is labor-saving. The whole is warm and homey, the whole family likes it very much, and the first choice for family travel is Qichen Boutique B&B!

這次在平遙古城住的這家山西老院院子非常有韻味，古色古香，房間也乾淨整潔。老闆人很熱情，幫我們提行李，還給了我們很多遊玩和美食的建議。位置很好，在古城裡麪，去各個景點都很方便。我們住的土炕房，既特別又舒適。強烈建議體驗一下在院子裏喝茶發呆的慢生活，這才是平遙古城的正確打開方式。

We stayed at thos lovely hotel. Lovingly restored by the current owner Mr Wang. He is the 6th generation owner of the property.
Until 10 years ago it was a derelict and dilapidated building. He poured money, time, blood, sweat and tears to restore it
And it does feel and look like a traditional house.
You feel you are going back in time.
Firstly the customer service is way beyond the call of duty. Its so good, i would recommend staying with mr Wang at whatever hotel he runs.
He picked us at the Lower East Gate, and brought us to the hotel, then took nearly half an hour to explain in great detail where we need to visit, whether the sights be in the city or outside the city.
Some of his suggestions, not on the tour books were very good . For example he suggested 3 restaurants, and we avoided them thinking he was getting a kickback.on our 4th and last day we tried restaurant no 2 of his. And it was good , the food and service were good. The prices were average with other restaurants and we got a 10% discount being the hotel's guests. And remember we had eaten 10 meals by the time we came to his suggestions.
Another suggestion of Mr Wang was Ma family home - also a very good tip from him.
Everytime we had a request or question he always responded with enthusiasm.
On our last day we checked out at 4am and he still took us to the pick up point at that ungodly hour.
Yep Mr and Mrs Wang's customer service is just first class.
The room was large, queen deluxe double, and the furnishings were traditional chinese furniture made of Rosewood. Very Expensive furniture for a hotel room. Shower worked well and was hot. However be aware its chinese style wet floor system ie there is no shower curtain between the shower and a small part of the bathroom does get wet if youare not careful. MR Wang said it will be one his improvement on his priority list. Hopefully by the time you booked the problem will have been resolved
The hotel is very close to the main streets. About 5 min walk.
The city of pingyao is worth visiting, it is one of the very walled cities left in China, with its old buildings intact and people still living it. All the city walls are also intact. Magnificent at night.

The hotel is located in Pingyao's Old City, very close to the Ancient Government tourist landmark. I found the level of service outstanding. Even though there was a language barrier they were always eager to help. I liked the courtyard and in the room I felt like I was sleeping in one of the museums I visited in Pingyao. Additional perks include free laundry and free transport to the train station. As a drawback, the wifi connection didn't work well for me. To sum up excellent value for money.

Located right at the entrance to the old town, this hotel is a little gem.
The staff is very friendly and upgraded our room.
The room has everything you need.
The shower was very good, with hot water and a good flow.
The breakfast served at the restaurant next door was good!

He even gave us a map and patiently told us the stories behind the old buildings. What's more, he not only planned a very reasonable itinerary for us, but the whole trip went smoothly.

這次平遙之行，非常榮幸選擇了榮耀民宿，雖然在古城外，但出行超方便，步行5-6分鐘就到古城入口，還免去了古城內交通管制的麻煩。房間乾淨又温馨，床品軟乎乎的，晚上一沾枕頭就睡着。民宿老闆是一名二十年的退役老兵，服務超熱情，不僅幫忙規劃路線，還推薦了很多本地人常去的小店，價格非常優惠才幾十塊錢，真的是物超所值。特別推薦大家可以入住體驗
