The stay was just perfect 😍 it started with a pre-message on WeChat to organize the smooth pickup from the railway station. After that we had a very warm and friendly welcome at the hotel. The environment and the yard are so cozy, quiet and beautiful. The room itself was very lovely and super clean. All important things were available. A perfect mix of modern luxury and ancient architecture. The WeChat service was available all the time and responded very quickly, staff was amazingly friendly. The breakfast was pretty good and tasty, didn’t except such a delicious breakfast in a “small” city. Better than many 5 star hotels. Checkout was smooth and transfer back to the train station well organized in advanced. Nothing to complain about. Highly recommended! Thanks to all the stuff for this great experience.

What a great boutique hotel. We were picked up at the train station and taken to the North Gate wall entrance and we walked about 200 m to the hotel. We were greeted by Ming Xia. She gave us recommendations on what to see. She even arranged the Hanfu photo shoot which was excellent. The hotel is a small (about 9 rooms) but beautiful, spacious & clean. We tried the western & chinese breakfast. Both was very well presented and tasted great. The hotel is beautifuly located. Definitely recommend this hotel. Than you Ming Xia!

Os funcionários da recepção são atenciosos, entrando em contato conosco com antecedência via WeChat para confirmar os horários de traslado, oferecendo ingressos com desconto para o espetáculo em Pingyao e perguntando sobre serviços de transporte (SUVs que podem ir até a cidade antiga e buscar os hóspedes diretamente no hotel). Eles também oferecem cupons de desconto VIP para restaurantes recomendados.
Chegamos ao hotel ao meio-dia e jantamos macarrão cortado à faca no restaurante no térreo – limpo, saboroso e com preço razoável. O café da manhã incluía painço e pepino-do-mar, e o iogurte estava particularmente delicioso. Os funcionários nos ajudaram a trazer o macarrão fresco até a mesa e até nos buscaram no elevador. Enquanto passeávamos pelo hotel, encontramos o gerente.
Pontos negativos: Os quartos do primeiro andar eram um pouco escuros e tinham um leve odor; É melhor ventilá-los com antecedência.
No geral, a equipe do hotel é bem treinada, prestativa, atenciosa e gentil – uma excelente opção para viagens em família.

衞生方面完全不用操心，從公共區域到客房細節，每一處都整潔如新。木質傢俱保養得一絲不苟，衞生間無異味無污漬，入住體驗特別安心。

Staying at this hotel allowed me to immerse myself in history, experiencing both the weight of time and the beauty of modern nature. This stay was absolutely perfect, deserving full marks! From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I could feel the hotel's professionalism and dedication. The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming, making check-in efficient and smooth, and they even proactively introduced the surrounding scenery and transportation, making me feel incredibly welcome.
The room was spacious and bright, with a simple yet stylish design. The bedding was soft and comfortable against the skin, ensuring a good night's sleep. Hygiene was impeccable, with a separate shower and toilet, fresh-smelling toiletries, and even the corners were spotless. The soundproofing was excellent, completely undisturbed by outside noise. The Chinese style was perfect, showcasing meticulous attention to detail.
The hotel's facilities were also comprehensive, with a rich and fresh breakfast selection. The location, right within the ancient city of Pingyao, was a major plus.
What impressed me most was the hotel's hospitality; I truly felt at home, with a genuine concern for the guests' well-being.
In short, this is a hotel I would definitely stay at again without hesitation, highly recommended for both business trips and family vacations!

They took initiative to giving us suggestions on 'primary' attractions and recommending us localized dishes, stalls and restaurants, which turned out to be very good.
They also arranged to pick us up from the entrance (normal car cannot enter Pingyao Gucheng) and send us to Pingyao Gucheng station (high-speed train station) on our last day - both for free.
They helped arrange a private car to take us to the places we wanted to visit (Wang Jia Da Yan & Mianshan) - we had to pay, of course.
On check-out day, the receptionist gave us a surprise by gifting us a small bottle of localized vinegar which added on to our pleasant stay.
In our travel experiences in more than 10 countries (& many hotels), the receptionist from this hotel was 1 of the best.
Room was clean and no cigarette smell inside the room and within hotel premises. Towels were clean and smelled fresh.
One small issue was that the water pressure from the hand-held shower head was weak. But the water pressure from rain-shower head was still acceptable.
The hotel interior was very ancient-like which was very pretty and met what we expected. No disappointment.
Hotel location was very good. A few footsteps away from bustling streets. The bustling streets were full of variety of shops -- restaurants, souvenirs, snacks, attractions, and many more.
There was no vegetarian restaurant inside Pingyao Gucheng, however, you could easily ask the restaurant staff to cook vegetarian meal for you -- just need a bit of explaining what you want to exclude from your meal, it's quite easy.

The hotel also offers a well-maintained gym, a 24-hour self-service laundry room, and elegant public spaces ideal for relaxation and photos.

UUsuário convidadoWe stayed at thos lovely hotel. Lovingly restored by the current owner Mr Wang. He is the 6th generation owner of the property.
Until 10 years ago it was a derelict and dilapidated building. He poured money, time, blood, sweat and tears to restore it
And it does feel and look like a traditional house.
You feel you are going back in time.
Firstly the customer service is way beyond the call of duty. Its so good, i would recommend staying with mr Wang at whatever hotel he runs.
He picked us at the Lower East Gate, and brought us to the hotel, then took nearly half an hour to explain in great detail where we need to visit, whether the sights be in the city or outside the city.
Some of his suggestions, not on the tour books were very good . For example he suggested 3 restaurants, and we avoided them thinking he was getting a kickback.on our 4th and last day we tried restaurant no 2 of his. And it was good , the food and service were good. The prices were average with other restaurants and we got a 10% discount being the hotel's guests. And remember we had eaten 10 meals by the time we came to his suggestions.
Another suggestion of Mr Wang was Ma family home - also a very good tip from him.
Everytime we had a request or question he always responded with enthusiasm.
On our last day we checked out at 4am and he still took us to the pick up point at that ungodly hour.
Yep Mr and Mrs Wang's customer service is just first class.
The room was large, queen deluxe double, and the furnishings were traditional chinese furniture made of Rosewood. Very Expensive furniture for a hotel room. Shower worked well and was hot. However be aware its chinese style wet floor system ie there is no shower curtain between the shower and a small part of the bathroom does get wet if youare not careful. MR Wang said it will be one his improvement on his priority list. Hopefully by the time you booked the problem will have been resolved
The hotel is very close to the main streets. About 5 min walk.
The city of pingyao is worth visiting, it is one of the very walled cities left in China, with its old buildings intact and people still living it. All the city walls are also intact. Magnificent at night.

Definitely recommended.
Only down point: the hotel is very difficult to find. To keep a higher level of exclusivity there is not a single indication on the street. Took a while and some local help to manage.
