"I found what looked like an engorged tick or bedbug crawling up my bed. The hotel is pretty and I booked it for 1 night as a luxury treat so I could get a good rest for my layover stop to another destination. My room smelt like stale smoke unfortunately, though I had asked for non-smoking. I paid extra on my booking for breakfast and had to wake up at 6am, eat breakfast at 6.30am and go to the airport at 7.20am. My room had a bathtub so I took a bath before bedtime and went to bed at midnight, I got up to go switch the lamp off at 1am and found this bug crawling up the side of my bed going towards me. I think it's either a tick or a bed bug, the body was full of blood. It had 6 or 8 legs, difficult to see but I took a video which doesn't allow me to upload. I don't have any problems with normal bugs such as spiders, but if it is a tick or bedbug it is a big problem. I was really worried there were more hiding inside the bed, I called reception for help and they looked at the bug which I caught in a glass cup. They apologised deeply and changed my room, so I had to move at 1.30am. I explained I was already tired and have to wake up early. In the new room I was unable to sleep as I kept worrying about bed bugs. I got up multiple times to check my bed. And there was a noisy couple next door talking loudly until very late so I couldn't sleep. For a luxury hotel you should not need to loose a whole night's sleep because you are worried about bedbugs or ticks biting you. Nor should be able to hear noise from other guests through the wall. I was extremely exhausted the next day and did not have any appetite. I asked if they could refund the extra I paid for breakfast because I couldn't eat it, but they said it wasn't possible. So I forced myself to try eat 1 egg and some small rice porridge but couldn't finish it. Really expensive to pay for breakfast and hardly eat, it's a shame they couldn't refund the breakfast considering I had no sleep. For a 5* hotel, I would like to have good rest and peaceful sleep. But it was not like that. The staff were very kind and helpful, but it's not so easy to travel here alone. It was not easy to book a taxi for the following morning to the airport and it took 40 minutes of assistance, the man was very kind and helpful, but the hotel should make an easier system for foreign guests to book taxi. When I first arrived in Jinan airport, I had no idea how to get to the hotel. There is no ATM inside the hotel so you cannot withdraw cash, and you cannot pay with foreign card to book a taxi. The shangri-la website did not provide any details for public transport. It simply said bus transfer was available but did not say which number bus. I would give the details here but I have forgotten the route name and bus number now as it was hectic and I was very tired, sorry. I had to waste a lot of time trying to ask for help at the airport as the staff did not speak English. Luckily someone helped me. The bus will cost 20yuan and take you into the centre where you will see the intercontinental hotel and a large shopping mall on the left side of the bus, get off at that stop, it takes 1 hour. From there it's only 5 minutes walk to shangri-la. For a big hotel they should provide easy instructions on the website to guests. The staff apologised deeply for the bug on the bed, and offered 10% reduction of the room rate. Although when I checked out no refund was given and they didn't mention anything about it, I think they just charged full price. Personally I think 10% is not enough anyway. Nobody wants to change rooms at 1.30am because of bugs crawling on the bed. I didn't get any sleep at all and felt itchy because I kept thinking about bugs and couldn't eat the breakfast. I was absolutely exhausted the following day so I was unable to do anything at my next destination and had to waste 1 day more to rest. Unfortunately not an easy experience at the shangri-la."

"Housekeeping people are very nice. Huge hotel for attending the conference. The room is fine. Bed is comfortable. But it’s not very convenient, no restaurants, convenient stores, etc. nearby. Need to walk 20 mins to a mall. No clock in the room, the refrigerator is not cold, the weighing scale is old style, barely see the numbers."

"Stayed for 3 nights, location is very convenient, right next to the subway station. Front desk staff was very friendly. Breakfast from 7am to 10am foods was ok, but some items were limited and not refilled, and no coffee provided. This hotel only has one lift, smoking are allowed in the lift made it very bad odour , too many deliveryman using this lift delivering food to the rooms, making the hotel no privacy, the room cleaning lady was very helpful and friendly. On the 3rd night at 1. 40am , all the lights in the room suddenly turned on, waking us up from sleeping , what an interesting experience for the stayed"

O alimento era delicioso e melhor do que muitos outros hotéis. Embora o edifício do hotel seja um pouco mais velho, tudo o resto é perfeito.O ginásio está bem equipado, e a piscina é grande (só lembra-te de trazer a tua capa de banho!). A reserva da suite incluiu também um serviço de limpeza de roupas (um pedaço por pessoa), que era um grande parque. Um agradecimento especial para o recepcionista Li Kang, 26 andar Xiaogang e Sasha por SUA excelente assistência. A experiência de esta estadia é ótima!Reservámos UMA suite Trip.com (1119 quartos), e o preço é Muito razoável.Mais tarde, percebemos que a suite contém alguns benefícios de valor superior (só não mostrados Na Trip.com), Como café Da manhã, chá de tarde e bebidas à noite. A comida do hotel é Muito boa, é Melhor do que muitos outros hotéis. O edifício do hotel é sensível NOS Anos, MAS tudo o resto é perfeito.As instalações do ginásio estão completas e a piscina é também ótima (tenha cuidado com a necessidade de USAR um banheiro!).A reserva de suite também contém serviços de limpeza de roupas gratuitos (um por cadA um), que é Muito intimidade. Gostaria de agradecer especialmente a Li Fog, o pequeno círculo de 26o andar e a Sasha, que têm um serviço Muito excelente. "Although the location is slightly far, the service, room amenities are worth it. They have a gym and a yoga room, free washing machine and dryer with free detergent. They also allowed us to check in at 10 am! So good~ It is also easy and cheap to take DiDi to the places to visit and they also have a bus stop, three minutes walk from the hotel. "I recently stayed at this hotel and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The location is perfect — it’s within walking distance to all the major attractions, which made sightseeing so convenient. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist with any request. However, the room design and facilities were a bit odd. When I took a shower, water leaked out onto the floor, which was a little frustrating. Despite that, the room was clean and comfortable, and the size was just right for a short stay. Would definitely recommend for its prime location and friendly service, but they could definitely improve the room design and bathroom functionality."
