"The good things about the hotel were its location. Close to restaurants, a famous Banksy or two, lots of shops and theatres. Is a beautiful hotel with nice places to sit and meet if you are in a group. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The car park, despite being £17 per night, was actually better value than other options nearby and we were able to leave the car there until midnight on the day of check out. The negatives were that we were not able to get a reservation in the hotel restaurant which we found unusual. We had a group from 8 to 80 so we were worried about walking yet had no choice as they couldn’t fit us in. They were also impossible to contact as they didn’t reply to messages. There was chaos at check in with guests waiting for up to an hour to check in and get their keys. There were long queues for over two hours from 3pm to at least 5pm. Their excuse was that the hotel was fully booked but it’s not as though they didn’t know all those people were coming! They should have been prepared and there were a lot of unhappy customers that Saturday evening. Some front desk staff were flustered and sorry but couldn’t do anything about it and some didn’t seem to care. We were there a bit earlier so they could have got the process started but they wouldn’t so we had to queue twice. We were quite fed up. Even after all that and me paying £68 for 4 cars I had to keep repeating that I had already paid that and the next day. Something in the system needs to change as it’s frustrating to spend 2 hours checking in when you are only staying for 1 night. Perhaps if they are expecting so many people again they could put out tea and coffee in the tea lounge with a screen to enter and pay for your car and then have some kind of ticket system where you are called to the desk when it’s your turn. It certainly needs better management as it’s not the welcome you expect when you’ve paid to stay in the Marriott brand."

"Wow! Where do I even start? After a stressful time in the bus and getting wrong directions from the hire car GPS being out of date, arriving at this place made everything worthwhile. Firstly the place is incredibly classy and stylish, both inside and out. The place resembles a mansion. Then the room. Much larger than any I'd stayed in the UK up to that point and with fantastic central heating, couch and bay window. Then there are the many lovely lounge areas all through the facility as well as bar open long hours with Alfie providing first class help and service. Other staff worth highlighting are Alicia with her excellent attentive breakfast help. Lily and Shae at the front desk were both very helpful. In spite of a small issue, Shae went above and beyond to fix the issue even though it was late. This place is amazing value and I would recommend it highly to anyone visiting Bristol. Although it's a little out of the way, the extra effort in terms of car rental or Uber costs are more than worth it. ."

"The room was very spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet considering it's central location. The room would benefit from a little TLC, the walls could do with a lick of paint as they were rather scuffed and the carpet was a bit tired and worn, but these aren't big issues. Also, the blackout curtain wasn't wide enough to cover the full width of one of the windows so there was a 6-inch gap at one end. The air conditioning was working fine (and quietly), my room was a comfortable temperature despite the heatwave. A couple of suggestions to improve the room - put a socket beside the bed so guests don't have to charge their mobile phone on the other side of the room, and put a mirror above the desk so guests can use the hairdryer at the desk rather than standing in front of the full length mirror and having to put their hairbrushes on the floor. The breakfast was a pretty standard buffet - hot food, pastries, continental cold meat and cheese selection, yoghurt, fruit etc. I think they may also have done some dishes to order but I didn't see a menu on any of the tables. There is also a gym but I didn't go in so can't rate it. The location is excellent - very central and just minutes walk away from many bars, restaurants, the waterside etc."

"Bom lugar para ficar, excelente quarto e serviços. IVA, estacionamento não é gratuito. É 20 libras por noite extra e os sistemas de estacionamento não funcionam bem, lutámos em checkouts em torno de 10-15 mins. No entanto, gostamos das instalações aqui, em geral é ótimo."

Muito agradável surpreendido por este hotel.A sala estava limpa, espaçosa e tinha muitas instalações.A casa de banho também estava bem pensada com um chuveiro muito incomum.Sente-se capaz de bater de volta e relaxar imediatamente. Todos OS funcionários eram muito profissionais, ajudantes e cortês.  Gostaria de ter experimentado o restaurante, porque o pequeno-almoço era muito bom."

"We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Holiday Inn Bristol with our family! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome and went out of their way to ensure our comfort. The family room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and thoughtfully arranged to suit both adults and children. Breakfast each morning was excellent, with a wide variety of delicious options that kept everyone happy — from fresh fruits and pastries to hot, cooked dishes. The hotel’s location was perfect for exploring Bristol, with great access to local attractions and transport links. What really stood out was the warmth and professionalism of the staff. Every interaction, from reception to housekeeping, was friendly and efficient, making our stay all the more enjoyable. "Excellent hotel experience from start to finish. We haven’t stayed here before & booked in due to its location being near  the venue we were heading to. Superb check in experience  at reception, friendly, efficient & went above & beyond to make us feel super welcome. Complimentary cocktail & discount for car park given along with lots of help & tips on how things worked.. Loved the style & ambiance of the hotel. Immaculate room with great decor. Similar experience at check out, will definitely return & would recommend."

"Very lovely hotel and good location for commuters. Price is also reasonable and staff are friendl. The two things I found was not very well explained or covered in the website are 1. car park - you have to pay extra £5 during check in to cover the parking fee Even so, there was no car parking spaces. I would've expect this to be included in the price or documented somewhere so that people know what to expect. 2. There is no WiFi on some part of the hotel. I spoke to staff to ask for wifi access due to poor network around the hotel. I was told the wifi was damaged by thunder. I was gobsmacked, couldn't believe it. I genuinely thought he was joking until he said it happened few weeks ago and still not fixed by BT. So I stayed the whole time with no wifi, I had to walk around to get a good network on my phone to contact people or access my email/ whatsapp. Although the stay went well, these are key things that play a crucial part of staying in a hotel. Both of these let the hotel down."

"Very comfortable hotel right at the canals. Very close to a major restaurant and club area so a bit loud in the evening but windows are well insulated. Comfortable bed and well maintained bathroom. Staff was friendly. There is a large parking garage next to the hotel and 24 hour parking, when paid at the hotel, is £18."
