"Super beautiful and well designed hotel with exceptional service. After coming back from the mountains we felt so well taken care of and could get some rest: we could wash our clothes, got super tasty snacks for free and the staff immediately attended any question or requests we had.
The hotel is also perfectly located in Kanding. Super close to two main temples and only a 20 minute walk to the city center. The view from the room we had was also amazing.
Highly highly recommend this hotel when visiting Kanding - and we hope to come back again! Thank you again!"

It took us some time to find the place since there’s no “Mercury Hotel” sign anywhere, but showing the booking text to a local helped—they even found an English speaker for us. If you’re booking here, just note that the entrance is at the back of the building, not on the main street. It’s a small entrance."

Otherwise, we really loved the view and our stay."

"The place is very close to the bus station so it is convenient. It is by the river that flows through the city. The rooms are clean, modern, and efficient. The owner couple are so friendly and always do their best for their clients. I went on a day tour with the owner and a couple other travelers. He gave us plenty of time to walk around, no time pressure. The views are magnificent on the tour. A very good place to stay."

"I really recommend this hotel, the overall experience is directly full! The location is excellent and it is very convenient to travel and eat. The environment in the store is elegant and atmospheric, the Tibetan decoration style is unique and the atmosphere is full. The rooms are clean and tidy, the bedding is soft and skin-friendly, the lighting and ventilation are very good, equipped with oxygen supply and floor heating, and the comfort of the plateau is directly full. , The staff service is warm and intimate, and there is a warm heart ceremony for the hada and butter tea. GGuanguantabaHere are a few complaints about the hotel: 1. The bathroom was cramped; it was difficult to even turn around. 2. The toilet looked like a smart toilet, but the seat was ice-cold, making my bottom feel chilly, especially in the freezing weather outside. 3. There was no underfloor heating in the bathroom; my feet were freezing. 4. The room was advertised as 50 square meters, but in my opinion, it was just cramped. 5. Dinner options were limited; the 368 RMB yak hotpot was just so-so. 6. The most unbearable thing was the breakfast. For a room costing 1400 RMB, all you gave a guest was a bowl of noodles? A child got a bowl of porridge, and that was it? We waited 40 minutes for breakfast! The next day, we went to the Ji Hotel in Shangri-La Town, a chain hotel costing just over 400 RMB, and the food there was far superior. In conclusion: aside from the scenery, everything else was unsatisfactory; it wasn't worth the 1400 RMB price tag.

UUsuário convidadoWe had an excellent stay here. The host and staff are super kind and caring. My partner was suffering from the altitude when we arrived and they immediately set us up with an oxygen concentrator. He felt better almost immediately. We are thankful they had one! They kept checking in on our health throughout our entire stay.
We had a beautiful big room on the fourth floor with views of Mt. Yala and life around the river. Loved the in floor heating. Even if you don't get a room on the 4th floor, there is a sitting area up with the view. The hotel is close to the main street, 10 minute walk to Tagong Monastery, 20 minute walk to the study monastery and 5 minute walk to the trail which leads up over the grasslands to Ani Gompa and Muya Dasi.
We can't thank the host and staff enough - they made a delicious hotpot on our first night, looked after us everyday and found us a ride onto Danba. They and we managed the English translation apps enough that we could work through the language barrier.

GGuest UserThis was an absolutely superb stay! The hotel boasts modern facilities, and the rooms are fully equipped and brand new. The service was top-notch; from the front desk to housekeeping, everyone was warm, attentive, and always eager to help. Hygiene was impeccable, with both the rooms and public areas being spotlessly clean. The parking lot was spacious and convenient, and the breakfast spread was extensive and delicious. I felt incredibly comfortable throughout my stay, and all my travel fatigue vanished. Highly recommended!

UUsuário convidadoThis place wasn't facing the main road, so it was very quiet. The room and the view from the room were absolutely beautiful, exactly as shown in the photos. There were restaurants and a small supermarket nearby. We couldn't quite capture the view of the snow mountains during the sunset from our room with our cheap phones, but the actual view was really pretty. There was floor heating and an electric blanket as well. Hot water was plentiful and with good pressure. We had a rental car and there were plenty of parking spaces. It was pretty unbelievable that the place was at this price. It was the best place that we've stayed in our 2-week trip by far and also the most affordable.
The owner of the place is a local ******* who used to live in ********** and speaks fluent English. Unfortunately, we had to leave early to return our rental car and catch our flight, otherwise we would have stayed longer.

UUsuário convidadoWe happen to visit Dartsedo (or commonly know as Kanding) in October, at the time of a big national holiday. So, the town was full of visitors from the mainland. Our original hotel has rejected our booking and this hostel was one of the very few options left. We booked 3 rooms in total.
There are lots of good things that could be said about this hostel. The owner and the staff ladies were very nice and super helpful. They had accepted to wash our bag of travel clothes in the facilities free of charge, which was very kind. The rooms were what could be expected from this type of accommodation and for booking last minute. All was much nicely arranged that what we have expected for a hostel and the bedding were very clean .The common areas where also kept clean at all time. The shower area are on the small side, but all had hot water, towels, overall not great as maintenance but clean and functional.
Our room was probably the only one that was facing a brick wall not a street, but we were OK with it. Anyone visiting this area from the West, should be ready to use squat toilets, which are common in this part of the world. Our room was probably the only one equipped with it. The bed had some kind of board instead of a mattress, but still was comfortable to sleep. The location was great. Obviously if you are a Westerner, you shouldn't expect a peaceful place , but this hostel is on the main street leading to the ”Love square”, with many nice places to eat and buy what you need. And the walk up to the central town is short and pleasant.
The only recommendation we can make is to put some mosquitos repellent, Our room was for some reason had the most and that made it difficult to sleep..
On the downside, but we know it's a common problem for the town- there is no parking for the hostel and in general very difficult to find a parking place in this town. And the hostel is on the 3rd floor, so you should be prepared to take your luggage on the stairs.

UUsuário convidadoI booked the ”river view” room on the 13th floor and obviously, I stuck gold after cranking my head from my room window, looking down to the raging water roaring through the river in the center of the city street. When I said ”raging” water, I meant cascading flows that echo through the entire city block. I had seen such terrain in Switzerland before but this is more impressive.
So ”location” is the biggest merit and I would recommend never sparing the money in exchange for the river=side room. Plus, the hotel is looking against the famous ”Love Song” Plaza of KarnDin City. For those who wonder what the big deal is about the ”KangDin Love Song”. For starters, it is a part of the Chinese growing-up song that is deeply entrenched in education, for even a person raised in Taiwan, let alone ethnical Chinese in the Mailand. It is more like a pilgrimage than touring that brought many to the city.
The smaller plaza right in front of the hotel lobby begins to gather impromptu dances at about 8 pm (Beijing time, local time ~ 6 p.m.). I admire the local Tibetans of all ages whose spontaneity sways with the music. The hotel doorman told me that yes, there were Han tourists also in the troupe, but you could usually tell them apart because they were the awkward-looking ones.
I have no complaints about the service, and I appreciate the enthusiasm the front desk people show when I try to gather information.
One more thing before I leave: if you are tired of the summer heat, Kangdin is the city you want to come! In late June, the daily high is 12 C!
The travel to the city has made extremely convenient by the recent completed Highway 42--an incredible feat of tunnel engineering in the world.

GGuest UserAs soon as I stepped into this hotel in Kangding, I felt warm. The room is warmly decorated and has sufficient heating, which drives away the chill of the plateau. The night view outside the window is charming, and you can see the brilliant lights of Kangding City. The hotel also provides considerate measures to deal with altitude sickness, and the service is excellent. There are many dining options nearby and travel is convenient. Highly recommended to friends who come to Kangding!!!

What made it special was how welcoming and thoughtful the host was. We always felt well looked after and it made travelling here so much easier and more enjoyable.
