Enjoyed staying at The light house resort. Hosts are nice and food was great.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort, and overall, it was a beautiful experience. The resort is nestled in a stunning location, surrounded by clear blue waters that create a perfect backdrop for relaxation. The tranquil environment made it an ideal choice for a quick getaway. The resort itself is well-maintained, with lovely landscaping and comfortable amenities. The serene setting really enhances the overall experience, making it a great place to unwind for a two-night stay. One of the highlights of my visit was the friendly staff. From the reception to the poolside attendants, everyone was warm and welcoming. The pool guys were particularly nice, adding to the relaxed vibe of the resort. However, I did find that the food needs significant improvement. While the dining options were ample, the quality and variety fell short of expectations. To truly enhance the guest experience, I believe that more attention to the menu and food preparation is necessary. This aspect would play a crucial role in my decision to return. Another area that requires attention is the communication regarding trips and activities. Unfortunately, we often found ourselves headed to the wrong locations, only to be redirected to another part of the island. Clearer information about where to go for excursions would be greatly beneficial for guests. In summary, Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort is a beautiful destination with a relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff. However, improvements in food quality and clearer communication regarding activities are essential for a more satisfying experience. With these adjustments, I could see myself returning, as the stunning views and peaceful environment are truly commendable.

Way Shack Hostel is in a fantastic location for visiting the whale sharks. If you speak to Ken at the hostel, he can help arrange the whale shark excursion, it cost me 500 pesos and was super easy to organize. That said, I’d recommend only a one-night stay here. We were disturbed both nights by heavy goods vehicles passing by the hostel late at night, which made it hard to get a good night's sleep. Additionally, aside from the whale shark activity, there’s not much else around the hostel to keep yourself entertained. A scooter is essential to travel to the local town for food or supplies. The hostel staff can help arrange a rental if you need one. On the plus side, the room was clean and equipped with air conditioning, which made it comfortable for a short stay. Overall, Way Shack Hostel is a practical and budget-friendly option for a quick stopover if you’re visiting the whale sharks, but it’s not ideal for a longer stay.

We stayed here for one night before our shark excursion. We were very grateful for the late check-in after 9 PM and that they specially prepared dinner for us even after the hotel cafe had closed. There's parking available for cars. The rooms are located as close to the water as possible – you literally step out of your room and almost into the water, which is amazing! The sound of the surf at night even made it hard to sleep (which is more of a plus, really). The location is excellent, and they can arrange transfers for shark tours and priority queuing if you discuss it with the lovely lady at the reception. Regarding the room itself – the room is physically tired and needs some minor repairs. There are some condition issues, but the location makes up for it. The cleanliness is excellent. All the linens were clean and smelled like fabric softener (a pleasant scent). Breakfast was à la carte. You can definitely get your fill. It's not a buffet.

Supper value for money Hotel! The view was amazing and the staff were really friendly. Supper peaceful environment as well. Highly recommend for any type of traveler.

We stayed in the sea view room, it was small and a little stuffy but the view was stunning. The location is great for walking to Cuartel Ruins, catching the Ferry and there are lots of restaurants/ stores nearby. The breakfast was basic but fresh.

This is a great place for a short stop. There are sharks nearby and a cafe. the staff is very friendly and helped me with all my questions. I definitely recommend this place.

В целом чисто, неплохо, НО! - Старые мега-шумные кондиционеры! И все звуки филиппинской деревни)) будьте готовы! Ещё - ночью исполняют какие-то католические обряды с песнями 🤦♂️ лично я не хотел бы ещё раз там останавливаться
