"Location: near LinFenXi High Speed Rail Station 临汾西站(10mins drive/ 20mins by local public transport to LuoGuQiaoTou 锣鼓桥头站). Best is that they provide pick-up and drop-off at HSR station, just make a call 3 hours in advance. I dont have local number, so I email them in advance before my trip, they replied my email and provide me their WeChat number so I can make reservation for the pick-up service at the station. Many local tours have pick-up and drop-off service near the hotel (junction outside the hotel), easy and convenient. Services: warm and welcoming services. Tea and drinks in the lobby, luggage storage as well. Room: clean big room, big screen TV, mini bar fridge, bathrobe and comfy king bed. Lavender shower shampoo, hand soap and body lotion, make me feel so so much relax. Laundry: laundry machine are free of charge (washer and dryer). Laundry room provide ironing equipment, books, drink as well. Definitely not get bored. Otherwise, can use phone connect their website to make a reminder while the laundry have done (so convenient). Gym Room: just opposite and same level of laundry room. Treadmill are so new. Breakfast: varieties of choice. Before that I already crave for coffee since it is not so common to find espresso in the local breakfast restaurant. Salad bar, local meatball soup, noodles, dumplings, wantons, boiled egg, fried egg, fried tomato with egg and local cooked food. So many choice and so satisfying. However they dont have egg omelette, it is fine for me. I found that even though not staying at LinFen city centre, it is still fine to stay here as the traffic here is convenient. And here is more quiet and more relax👍 The only thing I dont like is, some customer smoking in the lift and hotel lobby (even though there is a sign in the lift to advice not to smoke), definitely affecting those unlike smoking smell and sick of cigarette smell like me."

"For the price, this was excellent value. The room was very clean with all the necessities provided. Aside from this, the service was good. The staff were friendly and willing to help. Some cool quirky things, like a cat and its kittens in the lobby (in a glass play area so still hygienic). Also, coffee freshly brewed in the morning in the lobby. I didn't try it, but I think it was free as it was not in the breakfast area. One of the best cheaper stays I have been to traveling around China."

"This is the third time my family and I have visited Datong. The first two times we stayed in hotels, but this time we wanted to try a guesthouse. After checking reviews on Dazhong Dianping, we chose Bo.Yuan Guesthouse (Huayan Temple Branch) because of the traveler comments and its 4.9 high rating. The experience was excellent, so I wanted to share my review. The day before our trip, the guesthouse manager proactively called us to discuss our itinerary in Datong and our mode of transportation. She also offered a pick-up service, so we provided our travel details. Before we arrived at Datong South Station, a lady called to confirm the pick-up time and location, and informed us of her arrival time. When we got to the waiting area, we waited for about two minutes. The guesthouse lady called again, repeatedly apologizing for being two minutes late. She reconfirmed our waiting spot and described what she was wearing so we wouldn't miss her. When we met her, she didn't look like a typical pick-up driver, but rather a very elegant and young lady. She greeted my family and me warmly, saying, ”I'm so sorry for being two minutes late. The hotel is quite busy today, and the regular pick-up driver couldn't make it. After they told me, I rushed over to pick you up myself. Our hotel values integrity, and since we promised a pick-up service, even if there was no available car, I couldn't use a ride-hailing app. So, I truly apologize for being a few minutes late.” From this conversation, we learned that she was the female owner of the guesthouse. Throughout the journey, she was very talkative and friendly, making us feel completely at ease. She introduced us to the guesthouse and the unique features of Datong, and soon we arrived at the guesthouse. We chatted a lot with her during the short half-hour drive—perhaps it was fate. **1. Guesthouse Environment and Service:** Upon arriving at the guesthouse courtyard, we found it to be a very distinctive Siheyuan (quadrangle courtyard). The staff were all very enthusiastic, proactively helping us with our luggage and offering us tea. Since we arrived before check-in time, our room was still being cleaned. To minimize our waiting time, the owner personally urged the cleaning staff to finish quickly. She also used the waiting time to introduce us to the guesthouse's room features and restaurant. Once the room was ready, our room was on the second floor. The staff proactively helped us take our luggage up and turned on the air conditioning. Inside the room, it felt wonderful. Although the room retained the ancient charm of a Siheyuan, the infrastructure was very modern and high-tech, featuring central air conditioning, button-controlled panels, a projector instead of a TV, and an electric toilet. The hotel amenities also catered thoughtfully to modern women, such as essential oils in the toiletries, and provided toilet seat covers, disinfectant wipes, and wet wipes. Additionally, the welcome fruit quality was excellent; the owner mentioned she personally selected and purchased everything herself. The room was very quiet. I usually have trouble sleeping, but this time, I didn't experience insomnia due to changing locations. Instead, I slept exceptionally well because of the tranquil courtyard. **2. Guesthouse Breakfast:** From the room to the restaurant, every staff member we encountered greeted us warmly. In the restaurant, the staff proactively introduced the breakfast options and asked if we needed any help. The breakfast selection was very rich, combining Western and Chinese dishes to satisfy every guest's palate. There was vegetable salad, fruit platters, coffee, milk, yogurt, sausages, grilled chicken wings, stir-fried baby cabbage, bread, sweet potatoes, corn, purple rice paste, knife-cut noodles, wontons, and dumplings. The ingredients for these dishes were all personally selected and purchased by the owner, ensuring their freshness. All dishes were freshly prepared by the chef and tasted excellent. Although the restaurant might not be as large or offer as many varieties as four or five-star hotels, the quality of ingredients and taste were certainly on par with their culinary standards. Escaping the hustle and bustle of the big city for a weekend in Datong, our short two-day trip is coming to an end. The cultural heritage of Datong, its unique cuisine, and our stay at Bo.Yuan Guesthouse have all left a wonderful impression on me. Next time I visit Datong, I will definitely choose Bo.Yuan Guesthouse again. I wish the owner great success in her business! See you next time, Datong!"

"This hotel is amazing! Always so happy to come back to this beautiful space at the end of the day. Datong ancient town is not big and is easy to get around from Onetwo Hotel. Front desk is always so helpful to offer us assistance and check in with us on our needs. Not forgetting, their breakfast is an absolute winner! (If i have to nitpick, i would have preferred if we had fresh towel instead of one-use towels.) Nonetheless, would recommend this place to anyone coming to Datong. 👍👍👍"

"O quarto era limpo e higiênico, com um ambiente agradável, perfeito para sessões de fotos. Como fica dentro da cidade antiga, você precisa pegar o carro elétrico da cidade antiga para se locomover (a pousada providenciou isso). Talvez devido ao horário de pico da manhã, quando fizemos o check-out às 8h45, esperamos por mais de meia hora desde o momento em que chegamos à recepção até o momento em que finalmente entramos no carro. Isso precisa ser melhorado. O café da manhã não era particularmente farto. Como começa a servir às 6h30, os pratos já estavam frios quando chegamos por volta das 7h. Não conseguimos vê-los sendo aquecidos, o que também precisa ser melhorado. Afinal, o tempo está ficando mais frio, então ter refeições mais quentes pela manhã seria uma experiência melhor para os hóspedes!"

"This place has its own dedicated parking, conveniently located right behind Xinzhou Ancient City, making it super easy to get around. Charging and fueling your car is a breeze. You can bring back anything you buy in the ancient city and enjoy it at your leisure in your room. The private hot spring in the courtyard was a great experience – perfect for soaking while munching on snacks and sipping tea. It even has a retractable roof with lights, so you can enjoy it at night too. The service was top-notch; they provided a pet gift package and a welcome gift, which our dog loved! The staff were incredibly responsive, charming, and generous. We'll definitely be back!"

"Nice hotel just outside of the old city - reachable with a 5 minute didi. The staff were very professional and helpful. The room was brand new, clean and comfortable. Stay was nearly perfect with only a few minor gripes. When we asked for extra pillows we were told there were none available, the gym was a little bit small, but the 24 hour gym opening time was excellent. The western food at the breakfast buffet seemed like it had bit sitting out for a while and wasn't super fresh. However, the Chinese food was excellent and the staff were happy to make some vegetarian fried rice for us to suit our dietary needs. Overall a very pleasant stay and we would recommend it to anyone visiting Datong. The staff were so helpful and kind."

"The second time I came to Datong, I didn't play enough attractions last time. Before I came, I saw the newly opened hot spring homestay. My mother Mia Datong is really full of surprises. It feels like living in Mandarin Oriental. Whether it is bedding or service, it is impeccable. The most praise is the scenery. You can see the iconic building. The dry building is outside the window. The room pool is a natural volcanic hot spring! ! ! ! ! It's worth it! Thanks to the housekeeper for taking care of it! Recommend to everyone ～ There is still heat on the pool, Datong cools down, and the warm ～ There is really a difference between the hot spring and hot water. "Overall, I'm extremely satisfied. The hygiene was good, and the service was warm and welcoming. I loved the free coffee at the cafe on the first floor. The restaurant recommendations were excellent. Plus, the hotel's central location in Liuxiang made it incredibly convenient to explore. Downstairs, there are plenty of restaurants, cafes, and even a night market, with all the popular spots just a five-minute walk away. In short, it was fantastic! The only minor drawback was that the breakfast variety and taste could be improved. For future guests, I'd suggest skipping the breakfast option, as there are many convenient and diverse breakfast choices available nearby."

Seu sotaque de Shanxi, com um leve tom nasal, tornava tudo ainda mais acolhedor. Logo, o carro entrou na antiga cidade de Datong, que parecia uma versão em miniatura das muralhas de Xi'an. Pegamos o elevador do subsolo até o primeiro andar. A senhora do primeiro andar nos recebeu com muito entusiasmo e fez um registro simples. Na mesa, havia várias bebidas e frutas cristalizadas típicas. Como estava muito frio, eles insistiram em nos preparar um chá preto quente. Eu não gosto muito de chá, mas este estava delicioso. Nosso quarto ficava no segundo andar. O elevador era um pouco pequeno, então o dono da pousada subiu pelas escadas com nossa bagagem grande. Para minha surpresa, ele foi mais rápido do que nós de elevador. Fiquei um pouco surpreso quando a porta se abriu. A porta tinha uma fechadura com senha, eliminando a necessidade de chaves, o que é ótimo para pessoas esquecidas como nós. A decoração do quarto tinha a elegância da estética da dinastia Song. Assim como no saguão, havia várias bebidas e lanches na mesa do quarto. Na cesta da pia, havia toalhas de banho descartáveis, escovas de dente, pentes, lâminas de barbear e outros artigos de higiene essenciais para homens e mulheres. O banheiro também tinha capas de assento sanitário descartáveis, então não havia preocupações com higiene. Depois de deixar as malas, fomos convidados para o chá da tarde no restaurante do subsolo. O restaurante era uma cozinha aberta limpa e com design, onde podiam ser preparadas várias refeições leves. A mesa era uma longa peça de madeira maciça. Em frente à mesa, havia um pequeno pátio com uma árvore, que parecia ser uma macieira ou algo parecido, com algumas flores vermelhas. Acima da árvore, havia um claraboia de vidro, permitindo que a luz do sol entrasse facilmente, mas também bloqueando o vento frio do inverno. Havia café, chá, biscoitos e bolo red velvet. Enquanto tomávamos o chá da tarde, o proprietário nos deu sugestões para nosso itinerário. Na tarde do primeiro dia, escolhemos ir ao Museu de Datong. Com medo de nos perdermos na cidade antiga, o proprietário nos levou até o local onde poderíamos chamar um carro. Datong é muito fria nesta época do ano. Voltamos para a pousada tarde da noite, e ainda havia alguém esperando no saguão no primeiro andar. A pousada se tornou nosso lar temporário e aconchegante."
