"I recently stayed at the Venice Waterworld Hotel in Shijiazhuang and, unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. The hotel feels quite outdated and in need of renovation. The rooms were dark and old, with furnishings that seemed worn and tired.
One of the biggest issues was the air conditioning—it was old and lacked a proper thermostat, making it difficult to regulate the temperature. Additionally, smoking is permitted throughout the hotel, which was a major downside for me as a non-smoker. The smell of tobacco was pervasive in the hallways and common areas, making the stay less comfortable.
Breakfast lacked food for its guests. They were not being topped up according to the people who were in the restaurant. While the location may be convenient for some, the overall condition and policies of the hotel make it a poor choice for travelers who prefer clean, modern, and smoke-free accommodations. If I return to Shijiazhuang, I will definitely look for a different hotel.

Thanks to its privileged location, the hotel has played host to a number of global political leaders. For business travelers, small conference rooms are on hand for private events and meetings.
"An attractive hotel in a former imperial complex (a library or something like that) offering large, clean rooms. It's up on the side of a hill but taxis/rideshare will take you to the front door. Also it's very close to the town center and is a short ride to the temples that are of interest in Chengde.
They have a decent breakfast at the onsite restaurant, and a dinner service featuring local dishes that are supposed to be similar to what an emperor might have eaten. So you can dine like an emperor, for a fee. The large deer roaming the grounds stare at your with the big, sad eyes, obviously looking for a handout, but don't fall for it as there's plenty of grass.
There was some construction going on, seems the buildings are being refurbished, but it did not really interfere with our stay. Signs in English and English-speaking staff at the front desk."

"I wanted to book another far-flung hot spring luxury hotel, but that hotel was actually closed on Monday like a museum? ! So the family chose this hotel very close to the Geyuan Temple, and it is a relatively new hotel in the local area.
The service staff are very good, from the reception of the little girl to the cleaning aunt are polite and very good communication, and the demand response is very fast.
The room facilities are really not flattering. I saw this is a mid-range hotel under Jinjiangxuan. The psychological standard is a season under the standard of a certain living club. As a result, the room was small and the shower and toilet were not separated in the same room. The shower has no top spray, the room has no small refrigerator, and the overall facilities are about the same level as the standard court.
In short, we have also made sacrifices for the eight major Liaoconstruction final trip. We have not lived in a hotel with such poor facilities for many years."

TTaiyangbaba0608Whenever I visit Gu'an, I always choose this hotel. The rooms are spacious, and the surrounding area is fantastic with plenty of dining and shopping options. Central Park is just across the street, perfect for a leisurely stroll after dinner – it's incredibly relaxing. The only downside this time of year is the abundance of poplar catkins, which can be quite annoying.

GGuest UserThis is by far the most recommended hotel within Thaiwoo Ski Town. It's super convenient to drive straight into the underground garage. The rooms are very spacious, and the sofa bed can be pulled out to sleep an extra person, making it very family- and kid-friendly. There's a small balcony where you can enjoy tea and sunbathe, with a lovely, refreshing breeze. The hotel has its own activity space downstairs, offering various small programs daily, perfect for letting the kids run around freely. The hotel also has its own restaurant, and the buffet dinner is excellent and very reasonably priced when they have promotions. Plus, there's a McDonald's and other restaurants within the hotel building, so dining is very convenient. The hotel isn't far from the town's main commercial street, within walking distance, and there's also a free shuttle bus. We visited in late August, and it was an amazing escape from the summer heat; it would be even more convenient for skiing in winter. The hotel service was excellent; upon check-in, the front desk proactively informed me about all the packages available with my room. It's a hotel worth revisiting and highly recommending! I forgot to take photos of the hotel, so here are some scenic shots from the surrounding area instead.

The rooms are clean and tidy, the bedding is comfortable, and there's a gym and self-service laundry room. The hotel is a converted building, so the rooms are a bit small, there are few elevators, and street-facing rooms can be noisy. There's no executive lounge or in-room mini-fridge, and parking can be tight during peak season. It's ideal for travelers primarily visiting the Summer Palace and prioritizing convenience.

The children loved the room's decorations and toys, and anything they needed was promptly delivered after a phone call to the front desk. There were also picture books and building blocks on the first floor for play. One night, I left my phone in the toy area, and as soon as I returned to the room, the front desk called to ask if I had left it behind – a truly thoughtful touch.

The room layout felt relaxed and comfortable, and the floor-to-ceiling window framed the garden view like a painting. The outdoor garden is meticulously maintained, with plants thoughtfully arranged and winding paths that make for a wonderfully quiet stroll, far from the hustle and bustle. The room was clean and tidy, the amenities felt high-quality, and the staff were very friendly. I felt incredibly peaceful staying here all day – it’s a great place to unwind and recharge alone. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Aranya.

They patiently answered all questions without any hint of impatience, and even helped us with a late check-out. Issues were resolved very quickly, and we received complimentary welcome fruit. The facilities are very new and don't feel old-fashioned; they're the best among hotels in the same price range. I highly recommend experiencing Wuzhou! The guest rooms are spacious with fantastic views from the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, and luxury amenities like a Dyson hairdryer and a scenic bathtub are all included. The breakfast selection is rich, and the local Ban Mian noodles taste authentic. Service response is very fast, and the robot delivery is super convenient. The environment is quiet and upscale, offering much better value for money than other hotels in the same price bracket – highly recommended! The ceiling-to-sky heated swimming pool is the biggest highlight! The water is clear and clean, the space is open, and the temperature is just right. It's free for guests, making it incredibly relaxing and great for photos.

It's best to take a Didi (ride-hailing service) from the station; don't just jump into a shared ride, you might get ripped off. It's just outside the city wall, and I personally think staying here is more comfortable than inside the wall. Among the performances, only the iron flower show is worth seeing, but you absolutely need to get there early to secure a good spot, otherwise, you won't be able to watch. The commercial streets are all pretty much the same!

The hotel also had some activities that captivated my baby's attention.

GGuest UserThis trip to Aranya, I chose the Noark Far & Near, and the experience far exceeded my expectations. It's truly an ideal choice for a relaxing and therapeutic getaway.
The hotel is located in the serene, Phase 10 area, away from the hustle and bustle of the South Shore. The hotel's shuttle service is on-call, and the park shuttle runs regularly, making it convenient to get to the Chapel, Library, and commercial districts. It perfectly balances tranquility with accessibility.
As a new hotel opened in 2025, all the facilities are brand new. The rooms are spacious, and the deep sleep amenities truly live up to their reputation – full blackout curtains and high-end bedding ensured an exceptionally peaceful sleep. The rooms are equipped with a BOSE speaker and a smart toilet, and the minibar drinks and snacks are complimentary. Every detail exudes quality.
The public areas are designed with a strong artistic flair, and the lobby scent is luxurious. The outdoor pool, gym, and meditation space are all well-appointed, so even if you don't want to go out, you can still have a very comfortable stay within the hotel. The restaurant on the first floor offers delicious food, and the breakfast selection is extensive.
The service was gentle yet discreet. Check-in at the front desk was efficient, and the shuttle drivers were very thoughtful. Throughout my stay, there was no feeling of awkwardness from excessive service. This is definitely a hotel I would stay at again on my next visit to Aranya.

GGuest UserThis stay truly exceeded all expectations. As foreigners visiting Zhangjiakou in December for the first time for both travel and skiing, the overall experience couldn’t have been better — it was absolutely top-notch 👍.
From the moment we stepped into the lobby, we were greeted with a sense of warmth and genuine hospitality. The front desk staff were incredibly thoughtful and attentive. They immediately noticed that we were traveling with children and had quite a bit of luggage, and proactively offered assistance, which made us feel very well cared for right away.
The dining experience was equally impressive. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options to suit different tastes, and the availability of late-night snacks was a wonderful bonus, especially after a long day of skiing.
Overall, whether it was the attention to detail at the front desk, the comfort and quality of the accommodation, or the excellent food and beverage service, this hotel truly delivered on all fronts. It’s absolutely an ideal choice for families traveling with children, and we would highly recommend Atour to anyone visiting Zhangjiakou.
