The room was really big for a japan hotel. it was the biggest room we had throughout our 13 days trip. There is a bathtub which i enjoyed daily, with the free bath salts which are provided at the lobby. The staff are friendly and do their best to understand and help us out. We experienced earthquake during our stay, but the building held up. there is a lawson right beside the hotel which is very convenient. The train station is also within 10 minutes walk with mostly covered walkways towards the hotel.
Check-in was very smooth. In fact, they allowed us to check in earlier - about 1 to 2 hours earlier, I think. The room was already ready, so they allocated it to us when we arrived.
The room itself was rather small but functional and clean, so we don’t really have any complaints other than it being a bit small. I guess this is Japanese standards.
The pricing is fairly more expensive than the inns across the road, perhaps because of the location and also because it is very new.
The property itself has a very nice onsen. The female onsen had a lot of apples floating in it, which was a very nice touch to showcase Aomori apples.
The front desk staff are very nice and very friendly. They also have staff who can speak Chinese. Not that I am Chinese, but I can speak some Chinese better than Japanese, which I can’t speak at all. Nevertheless, the staff could converse in English, or at least some basic English.
There’s free yoga and some classes, but we didn’t utilise them as it’s not really useful for tourists who would rather spend time outside the hotel. This seems more suited for locals who want a short getaway, but still a very lovely touch.
Breakfast is paid separately and does not come with the room, so there is no comment on that.
The property provides Nespresso capsules in the room, and there is also a better Nespresso machine near the check-in counter.
I also love that they provide water for free without having to pay extra.
The lounge is available for everybody and overlooks the bridge. They provide some free snacks and drinks depending on the timing - different items in the morning and in the evening. That being said, there is no alcohol being served. Also, the coffee there is very bad. I don’t understand why they don’t put the Nespresso machine in the lounge since they have one at the lobby.
Overall, everything was quite perfect for this hotel. In fact, the location was the most perfect part. Once you exit the train station, you enter an elevator that goes up to the hotel. Since it was winter, I was afraid I would need to drag my bags for a long time, but it’s right outside the exit after you tap your card and turn left. If I remember correctly, the elevator is right there and there is no need to go outside at all. However, there are only two elevators servicing the entire building, so there might be some waiting time. I would advise leaving earlier if you have a train to catch.
The only reason this is not a full-star review is because I requested about a one-hour late checkout due to our train time, and they told us we needed to pay - if I remember correctly, ¥2,000 per hour. I felt they were very rigid about the 11 am checkout time. To be honest, even if they had given it to us, we probably wouldn’t have used it anyway, as we later decided to change our train time to leave Aomori, since there isn’t much to do here. Still, the rejection and inflexibility made us feel very uneasy and unwelcome. I think they could have handled this better by being less rigid and more human. So that’s minus points from us. After all, this is part of hospitality, and it doesn’t hurt.
The hotel room was barely large enough to allow two suitcase to be opened and let arrange our staff. I liked the location which is very close to the JR station. Each floor has a cold water machine in the public area, which is great. However, the four of breakfast is a bit cold but I still like the quality of local apple juice/milk/rice etc. I will rebook this hotel.
Muito perto Da estação ferroviária.Muito limpo, um pequeno-almoço com opções locais. Há UMA bebida de boas vindas e muitos livros para ler (se você sabe japonês).
It is located in downtown Aomori, though a bit far from Aomori Station. However, many major attractions are within walking distance.
Amenities are self-service, and children’s amenities are also available. After using the hot spring, yogurt is provided in the morning, and various kinds of ice cream are offered at night.
Breakfast features local Aomori dishes, and after 9:30 PM free ramen is served, which was perfect as a late-night snack.
clean and spacious room, helpful staff, comfortable bed, location good for people who drives, near town centre and some tourist sites, eg rice peddy art field etc.
The room in general is clean although the white curtain has holes and the shower curtain is a bit ripped. There are some molds under the sink. The soap and conditioner ate not so good. We asked for some facial soap and moisturizer, the staff said those things ate only available depending on the room type. How come other affordable business hotel chains provide those things?! I was expecting that this hotel has better service since they collaborate with Nikko Hotels, but to be fair, the restaurant staffs are kind.
The hotel was clean and comfortable. The location was convenient, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, a pleasant stay and good value for money.
Lake Towada in winter doesn't have many attractions; abandoned houses are everywhere, giving it a somewhat desolate feel… The hotel facilities are good, providing travel-sized shampoo, shower gel, and skincare products. The rooms also have hot and cold water dispensers (very convenient for making instant noodles). The public bath is only indoors, there's no open-air bath. The rooms are clean, suggesting recent renovations.
The worst part was the dinner. Dinner was at the hotel's sushi restaurant, but the entire meal consisted of only one appetizer (a very small dish), one miso soup, and 10 pieces of sushi. Even for women with small appetites, it wasn't enough. There aren't any convenience stores in the surrounding lake area, so if you get hungry at night, you can only buy frozen food from the hotel's vending machines, but the prices aren't cheap at all… Although the hotel provides each guest with a mini instant noodle for a late-night snack, that mini instant noodle is truly tiny; I bet it would only last three bites!
Therefore, I strongly advise everyone staying at this hotel to bring your own food.
The hotel’s facilities were outstanding- all sorts of skin care, the standard Japanese facilities (comb, toothbrush, razor, head band for when you wash your face, cotton swabs, you name it they had it. Well I mean to convey the fact that even higher end hotels Não transportam quase tanto.

Amazing
YYuMing WuLocation: About a 10-minute walk from Aomori Station, right on the main street, so it's very easy to find. The decor isn't brand new, but it's very well-maintained.
Service: The front desk and restaurant staff were all very warm and friendly. My experience from check-in to check-out was quite good. This hotel brand offers complimentary late-night ramen, popsicles after a hot spring bath, and Yakult in the morning. This Aomori branch also had self-serve apple juice and coffee next to the front desk, which was a nice touch.
Facilities: My room was windowless, which felt a bit overpriced for the off-peak season. However, their rooftop onsen (hot spring) is excellent. The onsen floor has Nebuta festival decorations, and the indoor and outdoor areas combined are quite spacious. There's also a sauna.
PPangpang23Arrived in Aomori in the rain, but thankfully the hotel is directly above the station, so no need to even go outside. They gave me the room I requested, which really helped alleviate my travel fatigue and put me in a great mood. The room layout was well-designed and very comfortable. The front desk staff spoke Chinese and thoroughly explained the hotel's facilities. Breakfast wasn't crowded, so I could get my food at a relaxed pace. A hotel I really liked.
11381600****The hotel staff were incredibly friendly. The Hakkoda Ropeway was canceled, and we were planning to take a public bus to Sukayu Onsen ourselves. When the staff learned of our plans, they proactively arranged a shuttle bus for us. We also found out about a snow hiking tour at Sukayu Onsen on Xiaohongshu and decided last minute to join it. A special thanks to the front desk attendant, OMA SAN, who helped us communicate with the hiking tour guide, allowing us to successfully join the tour and avoid any regrets on this trip.
GGuest UserWe were two people. The room we stayed at was not big. If you have two suitcases it will be hard to open up both of them at the same time. We didn’t have suitcases, and therefore the space was not a problem for us. The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. I lost my gloves at a bus, and they helped me to get them back. You also got apple juice as a welcome drink at the front desk (very nice apple juice!). We used baggage storage after checking out, which was no problem. The room was very clean. When we were there they had an eco plan, which was that the room got cleaned only once at our 4 night stay, but could get towels whenever we wanted. We though it was good from the environment perspective (but we decided to not have any cleaning at all).
Overall I though our stay at this hotel was very good.
LLiew爱旅游Overall, we were very satisfied with the hotel's facilities and service.
The standard room we stayed in was clean and hygienic, but the bed was a bit small. The soundproofing was not okay.
DDevThis hostel is conveniently located near Lake Towada. It can be easily accessed from the JR bus station. There is a convenience store at about 100 meters of distance from the hostel. The building is a bit outdated and the facilities look old. But please remember that this is a hostel and is affordable. The staff are extremely polite and welcoming. They have a big heart and serve with their full sincerity. When I reached the hostel early, there was nobody at the front desk, but there was a note for me with my room details. Later at night, When I mentioned that I do not eat meat, and I will manage with only rice, the lady, Ms. Tomoko quickly prepared fish without even thinking twice and asked me to pay very little. Even the next day she prepared cold noodles along with rice and charged extremely less. The point here is not the money but her big heart in serving without thinking about money or profit. I highly recommend this hostel purely by considering at the generosity and sweet, politeness of the staff there.
This hostel is conveniently located even to walk along Oirase gorge. Easier to stay here and take bus to either to the northern end - Yakeyama or the southern, lake side end Nenokuchi and walk along the gorge and return back to the hostel. This way the trip becomes affordable and easier.
Llalapan1985It's been half a month since I returned from Aomori, and I'm just now getting around to writing this hotel review. This is my second time choosing a 'Daiwa' brand hotel; my previous experience at the Kyoto Station location was so-so, but the Aomori branch was generally quite good. Here are my specific thoughts:
**I. Pros**
1. **Convenient Location:** The hotel is situated in the central area near JR Aomori Station. From the station's East Exit, walk straight along the main road where Toyoko Inn is located for about 6-7 minutes, and you'll reach it. Nearby attractions such as the Tourist Museum (the PAM PAM apple pie inside is a bit sweet but has a very crispy crust), Nebuta House, A-Factory, and Hirota Shrine are all within walking distance.
2. **Abundant Dining Options Nearby:** There are many restaurants along the way to the hotel, including Aomori Shokudo, which often has a queue. I tried the scallops when they opened in the afternoon, and they were fresh and delicious. The Aomori Seafood Market, about an 8-minute walk from the hotel, is also highly recommended. Go early in the morning to experience the locals' 'seafood freedom'.
3. **Smooth Check-in Experience:** The hotel lobby is on the second floor, and there's a Lawson convenience store downstairs. Guests can directly access the lobby through the store using their room card. I checked in around noon; although there were self-check-in machines, a staff member proactively assisted with manual check-in. They were enthusiastic and accommodating, fulfilling my request for a higher floor. Disposable toiletries, including facial cleanser, toner, lotion, toothbrush sets, and tea bags, were available for self-service next to the front desk. The toner had a nice texture.
4. **Well-equipped Guest Room:** My room was on the 14th (top) floor. Although small, it was fully functional with an expansive window view. The bathroom was spacious with a wet/dry separation and no steps between it and the bedroom, preventing tripping hazards. The bath amenities felt good, but the conditioner had a slight urea-like scent.
5. **Thorough Cleaning and Service:** I stayed for three consecutive nights. Each day, after I hung out the 'Please clean my room' sign, I returned to a clean and tidy room. The room provided two pillows of different heights, and the bedding had no noticeable disinfectant smell. A complimentary bottle of drinking water was provided daily, a thoughtful touch.
6. **Corridor Signage:** There was a sign in the corridor indicating that guests could activate TV channels.
**II. Areas for Improvement**
1. **Small Room Size:** My 28-inch suitcase couldn't be fully opened on the luggage rack without blocking the walkway.
2. **Lack of Hanging Space in Bathroom:** After the wet/dry separation, there was no place to hang clothes. Washed clothes at night had to be hung on the indoor drying rack, and water drops could easily fall onto the carpet.
3. **Central Air Conditioning Limitations:** In April, the central air conditioning only offered heating mode, with no option for cooling. This was a minor inconvenience for guests who wanted ventilation or to cool down.
**Overall Rating:** The hotel has a high rating, and my overall experience was good. It's highly recommended. If I visit Aomori again, I would still consider staying here.
GGuest UserThe hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Aomori Station and isn't on the main commercial street, but it's just around the corner from it. It's very close to Hirota Shrine, almost directly across the street. As soon as you enter the hotel, you're greeted by the scent of apples. There are apple models on display on the first floor, and the elevators are decorated with various apple illustrations and names. The breakfast selection is quite limited. While there are a few local specialties, the overall variety of dishes is too small. The scallop meat was very tiny and shredded, not whole pieces, putting it on par with the breakfast offerings at budget chain hotels.
GGuest UserStaff are friendly. Rooms are true to pictures as shown in booking page. I managed to get here with their city bus before picking up a rental car.
There's a tonkatsu place just across the street.
Convenient spot to settle in.
GGuest UserService was good. There was a staff who is stationed at the entrance, checking with guest who arrived by car. They will ask for your name, provided clear instructions of where to park. Unfortunately, I have accidentally left the lights in the car switched on. A few moments later when I was doing my check-in, the front desk staff quickly informed me about it. The facilities are good. Food is really good, very different from the other Hoshino resorts in Aomori that I have stayed. At KAI Tsugaru, it is Kaiseki instead of the usual buffet style. The staff took pains to explain and share the reason for each dish that was served. There are only 41 traditionally-furnished and generously-sized rooms offering both Western and Japanese-style designs which gives a very unique and dedicated experience as compared to other hotels which has many rooms.
