Our family room had an inner-facing window, so the view wasn't as good as a scenic room! However, the smart home features throughout were super convenient! The toilet was also smart, and there were even drinks in the fridge. The value for money during the off-season was great, and the location was excellent. We could walk to the Ancient Culture Street and the Italian Style Area! During the day, we watched the seagulls at Jin'gang Bridge, and at night, we saw the Tianjin Eye light up! Loved it! The only downside was that the room was too hot, with a duvet and feather pillows plus air conditioning, it felt like 26 degrees Celsius in the summer!

My stay was fantastic! The front desk staff, especially Elsa, was so warm and thoughtful. I was rushing to catch my high-speed train and felt exhausted. Elsa was super quick with my check-in and even patiently recommended some relaxing, off-the-beaten-path spots nearby. Leo from the concierge team was also incredibly helpful and kind, assisting me with my luggage. The hotel overall was very clean. To top it off, they brought me a warm glass of apple water at the end – a truly gentle touch just for me in a new city.

First off, the location is absolutely fantastic! It's just a few minutes' walk to Lion Grove Bridge, where you can catch the hilarious Tianjin uncles diving – a truly entertaining sight. You can also spot the Tianjin Eye in the distance, and the Haihe River at night is simply beautiful! The room itself was very spacious, and the bedding was comfortable. My child especially loved the round bathtub. The service, however, truly deserves all-around praise. The lobby staff were incredibly nice, and when I accidentally left some cosmetics behind, a lovely hotel staff member even helped me send them home via SF Express. I'm incredibly grateful!

Great stay with my family of 4, though the bed was a bit hard. Location was perfectly located on top of a mall and the metro station with direct line to Tianjin South station. Also it was very close to Wudadao, which was optimal for first time Tianjin visitors like us. The host was incredibly helpful and responsive and took great care of us with whatever we needed. There was a washing machine with laundry detergent provided. I recommend this stay to all who is visiting Tianjin.

The hotel's location is excellent. It's just a few steps from Exit D of Jinwan Plaza Metro Station and a 5-minute walk to the Century Clock. The room was very clean and soundproofed, making for a comfortable stay for my friend and me. We'll definitely choose this hotel again if we visit Tianjin in the future.

This trip to Tianjin, staying at the Astor Hotel, was truly wonderful! Employee Li Zirui picked me up from Tianjin Station. Her warm demeanor and the clean vehicle instantly gave me a great impression of Tianjin. Upon arrival at the hotel, Lobby Manager Joanne and Indian employee Naveet welcomed me. I was amazed that Naveet, who's from Mumbai, spoke excellent English and fluent Chinese! He also efficiently brought my luggage to the room. I'm thankful to the hotel for upgrading me to the Mei Lanfang Suite. With a record player and books and paintings by the legendary master Mei, I could feel the musical beauty in the room. The attention to detail was impressive. Despite being a century-old hotel, the facilities are quite new, and the rooms even feature comfortable and cozy King Koil mattresses. I also visited the Astor Hotel Museum, with nearly 3,000 exhibits. It felt like stepping right into Tianjin's vibrant history! I saw the famous old elevator, the historic staircase, and the vintage revolving wooden doors. If you come to Tianjin, you absolutely must see the night view along the Hai River. The Astor Hotel's location is excellent, right by the Hai River. That night, I walked to Daguangming Bridge to photograph the night scenery. Even though it was cold, the scene was unforgettable. I enjoyed the buffet breakfast at the second-floor restaurant, and later had coffee and pastries in the afternoon. Overall, the Astor's food was delicious, and the service was very friendly – even southerners like me found it palatable!

The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic, close to everything, and transportation is super convenient – no issues with the subway or bus, and the traffic flow is good too. The rooms aren't new, but they're well-maintained, and exceptionally clean. Breakfast is very rich, and they're quick to refill. The front desk staff, especially one young man, provided excellent service, even helping to deliver luggage to my room. I went next door to enjoy a comedy show and had a very pleasant evening.

The breakfast-inclusive room I booked via Ctrip was a bit cheaper than on the hotel's official website. A big thank you to the front desk for upgrading us to an Executive Twin Room. The room was very spacious, and we even received complimentary welcome snacks and fruit! The hot water was piping hot with excellent pressure, which was a real blessing for us coming back late. Breakfast was quite plentiful, offering a good variety of sausages, rich-tasting orange juice, and delicious pancakes.

Hotel is situated at a very convenient location with the main shopping street 滨江道 opposite. There are also plenty of shopping malls and restaurants nearby. Initially I was worried about the central heating during winter (Nov to Mar) which there is no cooling from their aircon, and it worsen when i was checking in when there are people checking out due to too hot. But our receptionist has arrange a cooler room for us where it does not face the sun and also has a humidifier that can put ice inside for cooling. Furthermore there is a small window on top that can be opened and with the high level, the room is cold and comfortable. The room is beautiful and huge and well kept by the room service everyday. The bathroom is huge with a huge bathtub which my kids love and the scenery is beautiful. ******* food delivery is also convenient as they got robot to send up. All in all, the room is very valuable for the price and i really love every single night in the hotel.

We had dinner at the Shang Palace, so we decided to stay right upstairs. I've stayed at Shangri-La in Malaysia before, so I booked it again with my child this time. The environment was impeccable, and the service was flawless. The only downside was that due to the New Year, cleaning and room turnover took too long; we arrived at 1:15 PM and couldn't check in until 3 PM. If that could be improved, this trip would have been perfect!
