Experience was great, service is excellent but location was a bit far from majority of popular locations. The property isn’t maintain properly and for a hotel that’s only few years old it feels like it’s been in service for at least a decade plus. Would not likely stay here again given there’s plenty of better hotels in this price range or lower.

The room had great facilities and a unique design. I really enjoyed the nice view of Seoul City Hall from the room. It’s also very convenient, with Myeongdong less than a 10-minute walk away.

I would like to take a moment to express my appreciation for the consistently warm and welcoming atmosphere I experience each time I visit your hotel. The staff, in particular, has always made a positive impression, offering an exceptional level of service that truly enhances my stay. However, I would like to bring to attention a concern that I encountered during my most recent visit. While the majority of the team exhibits exemplary professionalism and courtesy, I did notice that a few individuals seemed to approach their roles with a sense of authority that bordered on rigidity. It appeared that, at times, their position was interpreted as a form of power or entitlement rather than a service-oriented responsibility. As a guest, I believe that the true role of a hotelier is to serve and assist, regardless of one's title or position. The spirit of hospitality, in my view, lies in creating an environment where guests feel valued and respected, without the presence of any sense of hierarchy or authority overshadowing the experience.

Uma estadia excelente. Desde o momento em que cheguei, me senti muito bem cuidado. Todos os funcionários foram educados, simpáticos e pacientes. Reservei um quarto com duas camas de solteiro, mas me ofereceram um quarto com cama king size na chegada. A vista para o rio era linda! O parque Namsan fica do outro lado da rua - a localização é perfeita, perfeita, perfeita! O serviço de quarto foi rápido e a comida estava boa. Não tomei café da manhã. Comi no JJ Mahoney's e foi excelente - serviço excelente!! A única coisa que me pareceu estranha foi que eu não conseguia evitar que a água se espalhasse por todo o chão ao usar o chuveiro. Não sei se era a pressão (que era ótima) ou o ângulo do chuveiro (que ajustei para tentar corrigir as coisas). É bom ver medidas de sustentabilidade em vigor para comodidades, toalhas, etc. Ah, o check-in na sexta-feira parece ser incrivelmente movimentado. Cheguei em casa de uma excursão por volta das 16h na sexta-feira e o saguão estava lotado (assim como a galeria para o chá, etc.), então talvez tente programar sua visita de acordo. Excelente estadia, com certeza voltaremos!

I recently stayed at the Royal Hotel Seoul in Myeongdong, and overall, it’s a solid choice if you want convenience, comfort, and easy access to everything in the city. The location is definitely the hotel’s biggest advantage — you step right out into the heart of Myeongdong where shops, street food stalls, cafés, and subway stations are all just a few minutes away. It’s incredibly easy to explore Seoul from here. The rooms are clean and well-maintained, though on the smaller side, which is common in busy city-center hotels. The bed was comfortable, and housekeeping did a great job keeping the room tidy throughout the stay. The décor leans a bit more classic than modern, but everything functions well. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially during check-in and when handling luggage. They responded quickly to requests and were polite throughout the stay. However, a few service inconsistencies were noticeable — nothing major, but some guests might pick up on it. Facilities are decent but not standout. The breakfast was okay, though the selection felt limited for the price. The lounge and common areas are clean but could use a refresh. Some bathroom layouts also feel a little dated, and water pressure/temperature can vary at times. Overall, Royal Hotel Seoul is best for travelers who want to be right in the center of the action and value convenience above everything else. If you prioritize bigger rooms or modern luxury, you might find it a bit modest. But for location, cleanliness, and a comfortable stay, it’s a reliable option in Myeongdong.

JW is 5 star because of excellent assistance and service from the Conceirge to bellboy! Oliver recommended and assisted us to book a nice dinner venue for my family at Seokparang. He even initiated to assist me in booking a cab. Mason helped us with the luggage. He even took initiative to ask us for our airport transfer car plate number so he can keep a lookout for us. He even initiated to ask us to sit inside the hotel lobby while he kept a lookout for us. As he understood we are rushing to catch the flight, he even helped us to translate to the cab uncle to hurry for us. All of them speak fluent English, are very warm hearted and takes initiative in offering excellent service with genuine smiles. Our hearts are deeply grateful to them. 5 star 🌟 because of them. 4 star for the rooms don’t have Netflix. It would be great if the family can gather over Netflix entertainment. Small issue though as the service more than cover up for everything! :) We were offered a nice river view which was romantic! Very clean hotel. Location is excellent as train station and direct bus airport limousine is just by the hotel. Great connectivity. Will definitely revisit this hotel again.

Pros: - The manager was nice - Hotel was clean and location is nice - Hot spring is as good as advertised Cons: - We arrived at 7am, no staff was present in the counter and we used the Kiosk machine to virtually contact a staff because we only wanted to drop our bag (likely outsourced as we heard there was customer service like conversation and keyboards in the background). We were told to either drop our luggage next to the kiosk machine or we could wait until 9am as the manager will be back at 9. We weren't aware there was office of a spa hotel so we went out for a coffee and came back at around 8:50 in the morning and waited until 9:10. We called again and the lady said the manager will be back at 10am. We wanna make sure if there was staff actually coming but the kiosk cut our line and never picked up our call again. We had no choice but to wait and at last we waited till 9:45 (almost a 3 hour wait) and finally we could drop our bag. If there was office hour of the hotel it should be clearly stated for bad drop and available reception office hour. When we checked out, we would like to keep our bags and the female staff (not the friendly manager mentioned in the pros) was rather rude and told us we could only leave our bag here until 4pm, and told us. in Korea you can only keep your bag until 4. I wasn't sure if it is true but it was different to my previous experience in other Korean hotel. Overall I would say the hotel was nice, certainly not spacious but it was clean and tidy. Good environment overall I would say. It was however not an enjoyable experience because of the staff and services provided. Be reminded to check their office hours when planning your trip.

Shocking! My first ever bad review goes to this hotel! 1. When we first arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by how big the hotel was. But then at check-in, they hit you with a ton of rules: no noise after a certain hour, you can't turn off the air conditioning – if you're cold, just turn on the floor heating? I honestly laughed out loud! The AC fan was roaring all night, and the soundproofing was terrible; you could clearly hear car doors shutting outside. 2. Even more shocking, the fire alarm in this building went off once at 1 AM, and then for a whole half-hour at 4 AM! Everyone was just standing around on the first floor in the middle of the night, staring blankly. It went off sporadically a few more times when it got light. The next morning, we asked the staff, and they said someone smoking had been taken to the police station. But I honestly don't really believe that, because it went off way too many times. Were people constantly trying to challenge the fire alarm or something!?! 3. We tried to book a hair spa via WeChat starting from the day before, but no one ever responded. No one responded in the morning either, and when we went to ask in person, it was all fully booked. Seriously, what's up with that?? We gave feedback on all these issues to the staff, but besides verbal apologies, there was absolutely no action taken to compensate or show regret. They have more demands for guests than for themselves, full of flaws yet they act like they're impenetrable. Absolutely a terrible review!!!

Pros : - great location : near market, restaurant and convenient shops , near train and bus station. - very comfortable bed and pillow. The pillow is so comfortable I wish I can buy it to bring home. - very big bath tub(onsen). - amenities provided : shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, hairdryer (Dyson), bath herbal soak, toothbrush - love the freebies provided like makgeolli and Korean traditional sweet. Cons : - late checkin time (4pm), they don't even have a luggage storage area if you reach early. - all rooms are upstairs and there is no lift. You need to carry the luggage yourself, there is no staff to help. Initially we were assigned to a room on 4th floor. We requested to change to a lower room because we (both girls) can't carry our big luggage up 😅 - there is only one water outlet to fill up the bathtub. It takes forever to fill up the tub, so we only manage to soak our legs. There is no curtain to cover the bathtub, so when you fill up with hot water the whole room will be covered with the hot air making everything 'wet'. Love the concept of the big tub but it's just not practical. - they only provide new towels and bath amenities when doing room cleaning. They didn't even make up the bed.
