I am very grateful to the owners of Hostal Galvarino for saving me from sleeping on the street! I hadn't booked to stay in this hostal, but I arrived from Torres del Paine on the late bus into Puerto Natales at 11pm. I had booked to stay next door, but even though I had advised of my late arrival the place was in darkness and no one was there to let me in. The light was on in Hostal Galvarino and so I went in and luckily they had one room left. The room was a small single, only enough space for a single bed, but it was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was downstairs, but again it was very clean. The room was the equivalent £20 for the night, so it was good value. The main reason for my excellent rating was the fact that had it not been for the lovely owners I would have been wandering the streets of Puerto Natales after 11pm looking for a bed for the night. For this reason alone I would stay again. The room I had was small, but it was clean, comfortable and reasonably priced, perfectly adequate for a short stay.

Full marks from beginning to end, the saddest thing of all was losing one precious night in the beautiful environs of The Vinnhaus Hotel. Our ship arrived in the port to such high winds we were required to spend another night on board with land in sight, it was torture. That said our journey aboard the Esperanza was also rather wonderful with a brilliant crew. I will find a way to leave them a lovely review after this one. When we finally arrived at 9.00 am to the hotel we had our second breakfast of the day, we sat in a very nicely styled dining room with homemade bread, fresh fruit and juice along with a continental selection of cheese, ham, boiled egg and yogurt. Our hosts David and Erkka looked after us so well, they are a charming couple who have put together something very special between them. Our two rooms were both of a similar style and standard which is always rather gratifying when travelling as two couples, no jealousy then!!!! Wonderfully comfortable bed, super large mirror, well appointed bathroom with excellent heating and plentiful hot water. Even the built in hair dryer worked well which is not always a given. The two days spent in Puerto Natales passed with pleasure, some interesting restaurants to choose from, and one full day spent in Torres Del Paine when the weather behaved beautifully and gave us clear air and blue skies. You absolutely MUST leave one night at the very least to dine at the in house restaurant, it was one of the best meals we’ve had since leaving the UK early in the month and we’ve eaten in lots of places including the USA. Drinks served in the bar area were stylish and well prepared, there really isn’t a bad thing to say apart from, as I mentioned earlier, being “robbed” of one extra night Thank you Erkka and David for looking after us so well and please give a big hug and pat to the dogs, I hope that naughty one has now returned after his escape. During our South America tour in November 2019, we stayed at Hotel Lady Florence Dixie for 3 nights. Small hotel in the middle of town, walking distance to the different attractions in Puerto Natales. Our room was in the second floor, quite roomy and clean. Breakfast was the usual spread in Chile/Argentina with bread, cake, yogurt and fruit. They did offer eggs cooked to your liking. Upon check-out, we were supposed to be picked up by the tour company for transfer to the bus station to cross the border to El Calafate, Argentina. However, nobody showed up, 10 minutes after the stated pickup time. The guy at the front desk called the tour company and they said they would investigate and call back, yet there was no call. Since the bus was leaving in 15 minutes, he suggested that we take a taxi. We did not have any CLP left but he said he would pay for the taxi and he did. We got in the bus with no time to spare. We were so grateful that the front desk person (sorry, we didn’t get his name) was so helpful, quick to make all the arrangements and even paid for our taxi. We were spared from all the hassle of missing the bus and having to reschedule the transfer in Argentina. THANK YOU Hotel Lady Florence Dixie!!!

Loved our stay. Comfortable room, and the location is excellent. The bakery around the corner was one of our favorite spots to go to! And money exchange is on the other block. It's close to the main square, able to walk to the water - what more can you ask for?! Friendly staff - they helped us call our airlines when they unexpectedly changed the time our flight. Breakfast was delicious, has pastries, eggs, ham slices, cheese slices, fruit, etc. Would stay here again
