We had a 2-week family vacation in Italy, travelled to Rome, Florence, Naples and Palermo. Our stay at Olivuzza 27 in Palermo is by far the BEST! The room is spacious, well-appointed, clean. And, it has a kitchenette, so that we could cook dinner with the fresh ingredients bought from the supermarket nearby. The apartment is just a stone’s throw away from the town centre, we could go to different places just on foot. And it is located in a quiet and safe area. We didn’t have to worry even we walked back to the apartment after a night out. Our heartfelt thanks to the owner Salvo for his hospitality, who proactively offered us help in many ways. Salvo is friendly and caring. He speaks very good English too. He gave us very good recommendations for restaurants, attractions, useful apps. He helped us with laundry service after we were totally soaked in the pouring rain in one of the days. Each of the small touch have made us feel very welcomed. We had a very memorable trip in Palermo. If you happen to travel to Palermo, Olivuzza 27 is the PERFECT choice, trust me.

A atmosfera do local é relaxada e um pouco descontraída, de forma Melhor, cheia de personalidade e encanto.É raro encontrar um Lugar onde o serviço do cliente sente isso genuíno. Recomenda-se que você esteja à procura de uma estadia quente, bem-vinda e ligeiramente inconveniente em Palermo!

My First Hostel Experience — And It Was a Blast! Ostello Bello Palermo was my first-ever hostel stay, and honestly — it was an amazing surprise! At first, I was placed in a room with all guys, but when I asked to switch, the staff quickly and kindly arranged a change for me. Each room has 11 beds and 2 showers, and everything was super clean, which I really appreciated. The common area is lovely — warm, welcoming, and full of life. That night, there was a DJ party that lasted until 1 a.m., and sleeping was definitely not an option… but I was in the spirit of experimentation, so I just went with it and ended up dancing and having a great time. I met some amazing local musicians who were born in Palermo, and we had such a fun night hanging out and talking. It felt like a truly authentic and spontaneous experience. Breakfast was tasty, with a good selection. The staff were incredibly kind and friendly — especially one guy at the reception (I wish I remembered his name!) who was just the sweetest. Thank you for making my first hostel stay so special. I’ll never forget it 💛

THIS WAS THE BEST CHOICE I DID IN SICILY. First, this is the cleanest place I saw in my trip. They ask you every morning if you want a cleaning when they bring you breakfast. The bathroom/shower room is modern and same as the picture. The body soap, shampoo, conditioner was a Sicily one that was very nice of them. The public space was so good, they had balcony so it would be great to take pictures for instagram. Secondly, the breakfast. Insanely great. You can choose 2 things from about 15 types of dishes such as sandwiches or yogurt or fruits. For drink you can pick 1 from about 15 types such as cappuccino or hot chocolate. They have milk choices like oat milk and almond milk that is amazing in this price. For spread, you can choose 2 from about 10 types such as honey or Nutella or almond butter or many flavors of jam. For a dessert, you can choose a cake from 2 or 3 types they have that day. You can choose where you want to eat room or public space. Thirdly, the staffs were a lot more kind and friendly then the average of sicily. Nice place absolutely recommend!!

The hotel was not obvious for us - when we arrived, we drove around for about 10 minutes looking for a sign before parking on the wrong side of the road, and having to call for instructions. It was our fault, as the hotel tried contacting us earlier in the day but we did not have signal to take the call. Once we were instructed to the right place, it was super straightforward as Gianluca buzzed us in remotely, and upon verifying ID, let us into the unit and our bedroom. The lift in the building was super cool - for this experience alone I recommend staying in this hotel. The room was charming. Our previous hotel was a suite so this felt a bit small, but it was homely all the same. The small downside was how warm it felt in the room. The air conditioning wouldn't work with the windows open, but it wasn't running very strong. At night, we preferred keeping the window open for some fresh air instead. The poster bed added a quaint and romantic feel to the room, and we were absolutely spoilt with a surprise of a bottle of Prosecco as a gift! Of course, the highlight of the whole place was the jacuzzi in the bathroom. As we both had to do some work and also were tired from a road trip, all of these little touches made the stay in this hotel incredibly luxurious for us. I really recommend this place for a romantic getaway or a honeymoon.

Not a hotel, more like a Bnb with limited service October 2025 We booked Mia Terra expecting a hotel — but it turned out to be more of a one-man bed and breakfast. From the start, nothing went smoothly. We had decided to take up the host’s offer of an airport shuttle (not cheap), as one of us only had one evening in Palermo and every minute counted. The shuttle arrived 15 minutes late, and when we finally reached the property, no one was there to check us in, causing yet another delay — even though the host had personally arranged our transport and knew our arrival time. The host then offered excuses that didn’t line up with the shuttle driver’s story (which btw, the driver didn’t even know our destination — we had to guide him — and only accepted cash, which we weren’t told in advance.) Check-in was confusing and disorganized. Despite several text messages from the host to confirm our room setup (which should have been clear from the booking), he had still assigned the wrong rooms and once again found excuses, incorrectly blaming the booking platform. When we asked him to fix it, he was reluctant but eventually agreed — behaving as if he were doing us a favor — though he did offer free breakfast as compensation, which we didn’t need. Since there is no staff at the property. The host promised to respond to messages “within minutes,” yet replies often took hours. The whole experience felt like a single person trying to run a hotel alone — and it shows. To be fair, the rooms were clean and comfortable, although in one of them, the shower faced the bedroom through a glass wall, so you had to shower in the dark for privacy. Overall, the service and professionalism fell far short of hotel standards. If you’re expecting the reliability of an actual hotel, look elsewhere.

A porta do balcão do quarto pode ser aberta, a circulação de ar é boa e a cama é muito confortável. O banheiro possui utensílios completos e bastante água quente. O guarda-roupa e a mesa são muito práticos. A higiene é muito boa. Desça no porto, há ônibus ou não fica longe a pé. O lobby também é muito espaçoso. A única desvantagem é que há lixo na rua em frente ao hotel…

A localização é péssima. Fui de Navigator com uma mala da estação ferroviária central, cerca de 15 minutos, porque as ruas não são adequadas para malas, o pavimento está todo rachado. É melhor pegar um carro ou o bonde 1 por duas paradas a partir da estação. É um apartamento em um prédio residencial horrível. Terceiro andar (quase quarto), sem elevador, com escadas estreitas e sem iluminação à noite. Você não vê onde inserir as três chaves nas fechaduras (três portas para entrar). Meu quarto dava para uma rua movimentada e barulhenta. Há dois quartos no apartamento, que parecem bons, sem micro-ondas, mas limpos. A área parece perigosa à noite. A proprietária é simpática e prestativa. Ela se esforça ao máximo!

Meu quarto ficava no porão, e o primeiro andar (talvez parecesse que os funcionários estavam movendo os móveis?) era muito barulhento depois da meia-noite. Muitos passos, conversas e o som de móveis se movendo. Isso continuou por horas nas duas noites. Também fui acordado às 8h no meu primeiro dia por alguém batendo na minha porta. Presumo que tenha sido a camareira, mas não tenho certeza. Era muito cedo para esperar conseguir limpar um quarto. A cama era dura e rangia (havia três camas no meu quarto, não sei por quê, já que reservei um quarto com uma cama queen-size de solteiro) sem um cobertor de verdade. Estava razoavelmente limpo, embora houvesse alguns cabelos na pia e no chuveiro que não eram meus. O chuveiro foi o maior problema, pois era um box estreito e o ralo precisava ser limpo – o chuveiro alagou depois de apenas alguns minutos. Os móveis são todos muito antigos e a iluminação do quarto era incrivelmente fraca. Não parecia convidativo nem se parecia em nada com as fotos do anúncio. A localização fica a quase uma hora de caminhada de Palermo Centrale e, em outra direção, a quase uma hora de caminhada do Palazzo Butera. A menos que você queira apenas visitar a praia, não é nada conveniente. Até mesmo comprar água foi um trabalho árduo, já que a loja mais próxima fica a cerca de 400 metros de distância. O imposto municipal listado no Trip está incorreto. Você precisará pagar três euros por dia. No geral, eu não me hospedaria aqui novamente.
