Loi Suites Iguazu Hotel

Selva Iryapu Puerto Iguazu|3.32km from city center
TBH, we had higher hopes for this place but given the high season, the staff just can't keep up. There are plenty of staff members milling about but it seems that there is usually only 1 guy or 1 gal who can actually problem solve (or get what you need done/answered). So it's stark to see 2-3 others just standing around to tell you to hold a minute while one poor soul has to multi-task like crazy. So yeah, service is SLOW and if you're in a hurry, this is definitely not the place for you. Breakfast buffet every morning is solid - more than enough things to eat. The location of the property is quite tucked away so once you're on resort, you're really ”stuck there” - not that it's a bad thing. You will need hotel pickup/drop off with all your activities or to have the front desk get you a taxi (which isn't hard to do and hopefully you don't have to wait behind a group checking in to put in the request). The rooms are fine - a fair bit of wear and tear but given the volume of turnover and the forest environment, it's completely understandable. You'll need to AC cranking in the summer time and as others have noted, there's a fair share of mosquitoes. It's a quaint touch to navigate the different buildings where the rooms are and going over the suspension bridges - makes you feel like you are in the jungle. We didn't take as much advantage of the resort given we were constantly off property for long days of excursions, so you should balance that out. We had dinner at the resort one night and like others have said, there are better joints in town with faster service and cheaper prices - but do you want to schlep in? That's is the key question for opting to stay here or not.

PLEASE dont stay here. It is maybe 1-star or 1.5 stars. It is DIRTY, OLD, UGLY, SMELLY and we had to stay here because we arrived at 1am otherwise I would have left immediately. Here's a list of things that were not acceptable: -Carpets were stained, dirty, not vaccumed.... really disgusting. I had to keep my shoes on the whole time. -Shower was missing a door and the shower head sprayed all the way to the sink on the other side.... - Room smelled moldy -Shower body wash dispenser was RIPPED OFF - Caulking on the tub was nasty - Doors and cabinet edges were peeling and falling apart - Towels were very thin -Bad quality Pillows -Staff was ok and let us cancel night #2 Below is my review in Spanish so everyone can get this message... ----- Para los que hablan espanol... Porfavor NO te quedes aqui... :(

Hosteria Los Helechos

Hosteria Los Helechos

Puerto Iguazu|0.98km from city center
stayed at the Hosteria Los Helechos for 3 nights as part of a land package arranged by a local travel agency.  The accommodation is basic, rundown and near downtown Iguazú.  A short walk away from this hostel are restaurants, souvenir shops and a bus terminal.  Currency Exchange is quite far but some souvenir shops will change your money if you ask. The hotel seems famous to families.  It was full when I stayed in March and many tour buses picked up guests in the morning.   I checked in night time and was given a room facing a garden, which I liked.  However, when I reached the room, the door was left open and when I entered, found mosquitoes inside.  The bathroom door knob was broken but when I reported, it was immediately replaced.  The room is simple, dark and you can tell everything inside it needs some serious upgrading.  The bed and pillows are uncomfortable. The linens look damp.  The shower water pressure, however, is very good.   A simple breakfast is included and is served at your table. For the drinks, you have to help yourself at the counter.  It is good and convenient that this hostel has a restaurant which is open until late night. What is impressive about this hostel is their helpful staff.  Even if some of them do not speak English, they did exert effort in answering my queries about directions, tours, food and places to see.  They even arranged a taxi pick up and when I reported about the broken door handle, a maintenance staff came in less than 10 minutes to fix it.  Overall, it was still a good experience staying at the Hosteria Los Helechos.  I just hope they will renovate the rooms soon and put new beds for the comfort of their guests.

Hotel Das Cataratas, A Belmond Hotel, Iguassu Falls

Foz do Iguacu|2.01km de Paseos de Luna Llena en las Cataratas del Iguazú
Our experience at the Belmond can only be described as magical. The hotel itself is beautiful, every member of staff were lovely, the cocktails at Bar Tarobá were incredible, and the pool was great - our whole stay could not have gone smoother. But, what makes this hotel so special is the access to the falls. Being inside the national park before and after it is open to the public is an unmissable experience - you only have to step foot outside of the lobby to be greeted with a beautiful view. We decided to walk the trail at sunset after it had closed to the public, and we were the only people there. During the day, as you can imagine, it can be packed, so being able to experience it privately was so unique - plus, it gave us the most amazing photo opportunities! As we were walking the trail we thought to ourselves ‘this in itself is an experience we’re sure some people would pay more than the price of the hotel for!’. It was an unforgettable evening to cherish forever. The hotel concierge was excellent, arranging wonderful experiences for us - including a boat trip (which they supply towels and ponchos for). After staying here on the Brazilian side, we stayed on the Argentinian side for two nights, but, if I were to go back and repeat this trip, I would definitely only stay at the Belmond and just do a day trip to the Argentinian side with the help of the concierge. The breakfast and lunch buffets at Ipê Restaurant were delicious, but our meal at Itaipu was stand out - by far the best meal we had in Brazil. Being so full after starter and main course but could not resist a dessert - you have to have dinner here! Having visited a number of other wonderful Belmond properties, it is without a doubt that this one is a favourite and would absolutely love to return. There is no question about it, you simply must stay here when visiting the falls - you will regret it if you don’t! And finally, this Belmond is absolutely incredible. Five stars is simply not enough. It is a seven star hotel.

This is not really a hotel. It is a cluster of chalets built on what still is partially a farm. I chose to stay here because it looked quirky. Rustic may be a better description. The chalets are spacious with 2 rooms and a separate bathroom. There is a bunkbed in the main room for kids and the bedroom has a large comfortable bed. There is a kitchenette as part of the main room but there is no microwave. There is a toaster oven and a one burner stove, plus a fridge and a sink. Everything is concrete, adding an industrial feel but not in a modern way. There are big warehouse type light switches and power points attached to electric tubing connected to the walls. The bedside lights can be moved by clamps. The ceilings are high and there is functioning air-conditioning in both rooms. The bathroom is sizable with a large walk-in shower which has a glass exterior wall with plants outside and a privacy screen. There is a blind that can be lowered but is unnecessary and ours was also mouldy. The water pressure was satisfactory but certainly not as gushing as the nearby Iguassu Falls. There isn’t a hair dryer. The eco-toilet, which we have not encountered before but is apparently more common, requested that used toilet paper be placed in the bin beside the toilet rather than flushed. There was an attached hose for personal cleansing as well. The eco part of this establishment also meant the room was not cleaned during our 3-night stay. Breakfast is included and it wasn’t bad. There was no hot food available when we were there but it seemed that during a busier season, there may be. The staff were friendly and tried to be helpful. The benefit of the location depends on what you’re wanting to do. It neighbours the Movie Cars Wonder Park and a water park and is a 400-metre walk from the Bird Park. It is only a kilometre away from the Brazilian side of Iguassu Falls. It is only an 8-minute drive from the Brazilian airport. However, there is no food close by and the main town is 30 minutes away. It is also not easy to find and any taxi driver would have to look up the location on Google. We paid $US180 for our 3 nights. I get the impression many hotels in Foz de Iguazu are not overly glamourous, beside the luxury resorts. The Pousada Guata Pora isn’t a bad option, depending on what experience you’re after. It’s basic but comfortable and served our purpose reasonably well. Check out my other reviews of places, hotels and experiences throughout South America.

Large, modern, comfortable room with everything needed for the stay. Good breakfast, although on the first day overcrowded thanks to a large tour group preparing for getaway. Food and service in both the ground floor restaurant and the roof terrace were of good quality. Attentive and friendly front desk staff. Spectacular view from roof terrace (rooftop pool closed, but not a problem for us). Recommended.

Location is outstanding in front of the bus terminal which is the base to Iguazu Falls! The staff is also kind and perfect if you just sleep. However, the shower is bad, so I don't recommend it to those who are not accustomed to overseas or want to take a shower firmly. The amenities were no soap for some reason and shampoo and treatment were placed. Naturally, there are no toothbrushes, slippers, etc. Cleanliness is normal. Breakfast was included and there were bread, ham, cheese, sweets, etc. If the price is reasonable and you stay 1 nights from the Argentina side to Puerto Iguazu, I think the location is No.1 anyway! Personally recommended.

The room is large, especially the bed is large and clean, which is not bad in Argentina. The airport bus can go directly. Turn right about 200 meters to see the three country attractions at a glance. It is also the starting point of the bus to the Great Falls. At present, the one-way ticket to the Great Falls is 3,000 yuan, and the airport is 3300 yuan (5900 yuan back and forth), and the taxi is 12,000 yuan. Tickets for the Iguazu Falls are 20,000 local dollars (about $20). Car rental and travel can be handled in the hotel TAXI and REMIS centers, and the service is very good. The hotel stipulates that check-out at ten o'clock. Since we are on the plane, the front desk asks the manager to check out until twelve o'clock.

The hotel is very nice, very quiet, the staff super friendly, hygiene is very good. , there is a topic that I think is important to take care of, the hotel is in the jungle, everything stays away, what is consumed must be acquired in the hotel cannot eat in the room, NO service to the room, (stß prohibited eat in it) , I'm staying in the hotel my super-sleeved husband, I can't leave him too long alone, I called for Pefir service, I said I went to the rest to ask there, I went and I said no. If you haven't all the unforeseen well, but if something happens to you, it's good to know you won't eat you or who should care for you. It's a fault that should be corrected. I met all the requirements, and I didn't bring any kitchen package.

This hotel is good, there is a bus stop nearby, it is very convenient to go to the Great Falls, you can go to Iguazu Port. The environment is good, not far from the town, ten minutes, there are many restaurants nearby, there is a China-Pakistan from the airport to this hotel, the fare is 900 pesos, quite convenient.
