Every single person working at the hotel were extremely kind and helpful. They went above and beyond to make sure my stay was comfortable and convenient. They even helped me to post some souvenirs back to my house that I couldn’t fit in my suitcase. I was travelling alone and it can be a bit intimidating to travel away from major cities with my less than conversational level of Chinese, but I was made to feel so welcome and I am very grateful for the amazing hospitality. The location is fantastic, walking distance to a lot of nice places to eat and the night market. There was a cheap and decent gym within 8 minutes walking of the hotel and nowhere was too far to go by taxi. For foreigners, I recommend taking the taxi to Doujiaduncun villagers committee to take your PCR test. It’s about 5 minutes by taxi and they can help deal with PCR tests for foreigners who don’t have access to the QR code. You must go back the next day to pick up the results. The people at the testing site are also very helpful. I loved my visit to Dunhuang so much, the landscape is incredible and the people here are so nice. I will definitely come back again!
