Traveling during off-peak hours after the new year is absolutely the right choice. Chaozhou is less crowded and you can better experience the city's culture and food. After looking at several hotels, I finally chose this hotel with a good reputation in Chaozhou. My experience after staying was consistent with the reviews I saw. The butler's service was very good. After filling out the check-in questionnaire, the room was arranged according to what I filled out. The guest room has a coffee machine, Gongfu tea set, a rich minibar, and fresh fruits. The most eye-catching thing in the room is the soaking pool. It's really big. It's very comfortable to watch a drama while eating fruit. The cultural activity was Teochew opera, and I also experienced the feeling of putting on costumes. In the morning, I ate a lot of authentic snacks with the housekeeper. My favorite was rice rolls and candied scallion pancakes. The taste of the pancakes is very unique. The mung bean pancakes were so delicious that I didn’t have time to buy them before I left. The butler even helped buy them for me, which was so considerate.

The hotel is hidden in the back ailes of the Chaozhou old town, close to all the buzzes of the main street yet maintains nice tranquillity for good rest. Its architecture combines a traditional Chaozhou style and a modern Japanese minimalist design. We also got exclusive access to the old residence of Rao Zongyi, a hundred-year-old traditional mansion of articulate Chinese architecture. The staff are all locals, well trained, professional and friendly. They are very considerate of our needs during the entire stay. Hotel facilities are also top-notch. Would recommend this place if you’re looking for a local yet exclusive experience.

The service is personalized. The hotel provides a 100 yuan breakfast voucher, which can be ordered by yourself or eaten at the buffet for free. This is the first time I have encountered this. It is very personalized and fully meets the tastes of different guests. I stayed in the hotel for three days, ordered my own food for two days, and had a buffet on the last day to catch the train. Coming to Chaozhou for the first time to check out the suitability for family travel. The hotel’s service is superb and the team always makes you feel welcome, from arrival to departure. They make sure they are connected with you on WeChat or mobile, so that you can contact them whenever and wherever (which is good for introverts who prefer not to speak face to face). The location is just directly opposite West Lake (西湖), and in the morning there is a small fruit market outside. It is walkable to 西马路，牌坊街，开元寺，广济桥 around 15-20min walk, but of course, you can take Didi or one of the trishaws outside the hotel. Even though it is not luxurious, what I love about this hotel is that I can leave without dirty clothes, because they offer dry cleaning services for unlimited pieces of clothing, once per day (till 22:00).

This was probably my favorite hotel during my seven week trip around China. I had the third-floor room with view of the lake and a bathtub in my room. The bed and pillows was extremely comfortable. The hotel provided plenty of bottle water and gave a gift of fruit upon arrival. The price quality ratio was better than expected. The staff were very kind. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
