"My room wasn't huge, but it was very clean. The staff were excellent, and they offer a free airport shuttle service – just contact them in advance, and they'll be waiting for you at the exit with a sign with your name on it. It's also very close to the airport. The next day when I checked out, I didn't have a taxi app, so the staff helped me call a car and even exchanged 100 RMB for me to pay for the taxi. After the taxi arrived, the staff helped me with my luggage all the way to the car. Highly recommend!"

"The Hotel Barahi Kathmandu is in a great location, walking distance to great souvenirs in Thamal, tourist sites like the Garden of Dreams and the former Royal Palace. The hotel staff were so friendly, engaging and helpful. The hotel has a pool up on level 7 with great views of Kathmandu. The only flaw with the pool is it is surrounded by the restaurant, so no one swims in it. I had a suite the room was beautiful, very happy with the cleanliness and room service. The only flaw with the room is that it backed on to the service area for staff who were all working very hard, but there was banging and clanging all night and morning."

"This stay is value for money! Enjoyed their clean bathrooms and well-maintained rooftop restaurant. Receptionists are helpful too. You can book airport transfer for departure on the spot at 1000 rupees. I have nothing but good stuff to say about this lovely hostel, tucked away in a quieter area amidst the bustle of Thamel. Even met friendly roommates who are respectful of each other’s space and privacy here. This adds a little something special to my short stay here in Kathmandu. "Location is superb, right in the middle of Kathmandu, walking distance to Thamel. Other interesting landmarks are easy to reach with the helpful taxi drivers (always present outside the gates). Hotel staff are very kind, sincerely engage in conversation and helpful in providing tourist information. Rooms are cost and warm decorated. Hotel has a beautiful garden suitable for a relaxing stroll. Swimming pool is nice and very clean! I highly recommend this hotel above other hotels in Kathmandu. "Extremely wonderful hotel 15 minutes walk from the airport. Everything was sparkling clean, comfortable, and I always felt well taken care of. The gym is well stocked and has a great view of the city. Breakfast was another highlight and included many delicious Nepalese, Indian, and Western foods. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and kind, helping me call taxis for a cheaper fare than the tourist rip off price, and they also helped me store my luggage overnight while I went on a yoga retreat. Can’t recommend this hotel enough!!"

"This is the second time I stayed at Ramada Encore in Thamel. I was not wrong to choose it again. Absolutely everything is good here ... the staff, the room,the breakfast (oh my, sooooo good), the location, the friendliness of every single employee, from the door in. A special recognition to Nikhil in the reception, whose service and support with a sincere smile is as comforting as the sunshine on an early autumn morning. And to the staff and therapists on the spa where I took a couple of massages that were superb. Kathmandu is a beautiful, yet hectic city. Thamel even more, so to have this oasis to come to after a long day wandering around or trekking is something to treasure. In my case, this is even more meaningful as I left all my stuff to go hiking on the Himalayas for several days, coming back to the hotel with the certainty that I was going to be happily and truly welcome. Again, I was not wrong. Thank you for making a difference and for understanding what the word service means. "Nice Old Hotel, Great Staff with few needs to improve. Swimming pool is totally disappointment. Better to shut down, than keep running and not swimmable, waist of energy. The water is dirty, no star at all. The lobby, the room and Ghurka bar are still great. 2 power shutdowns in 1 day, I believe they are struggling with power shortages due to dark lounges. Breakfast was so so, coffee or tea should be not a challenge to serve first, sometimes took half of meal before they come. Many Tables are not stable and aligned, egg can easily roll over to other side. Atleast 3 tables on my experience. Room is comfortable, nice bed and always fresh linen. Only noisy from AC , maintenance team came twice on my room to fix, though transfer was offered on my last 2 days. Managers should not standing in buffet line, either they should help the line staffs or directing the team, talking business in public is not of our guests concern. Front desk Trainee, has good presence, I thought first he is manager. A lot can be improved and polished, the hotel has a great potential, nice design, great facilities and great staffs. I wish that management should look all themselves and review those small details."
