This hotel was great! Would stay here again.
Location is great. Just take exit 3 or 4 from the Shandao Temple station (useful line btw). A famous breakfast option within a couple of minutes walk and there’s a supermarket there too.
Service was prompt and courteous. We forgot to cancel the do not disturb sign one day and asked for towels when we got back. They promptly came up with the full set, including the floor towels and wanted to do the replacement and set up for us too.
Room was clean and amenities sufficient (body soap, shampoo conditioner, body lotion). No disposables but we were told beforehand and were prepared. Not a problem at all.
We didn’t take breakfast at the hotel, which would have been provided by Starbucks which they’ve partnered at the ground floor. Hotel guests enjoy a 10 percent discount at the Starbucks too.
The hotel gym is small but sufficient, three treadmills and one elliptical. There was no one else there at 7am.

Excellent as always. However they stopped providing disposables which might affect some travelers. Do note that you cannot clock hilton points when booking on trip.

Asking for a higher floored room really makes all the difference 😀 the city view is beautiful in the day and night (16F). Beds are on the firm side, and the pillows are quite uncomfortable for me. One is too soft and one is too hard.
However, the location is great, easy to go Ximending, or even Taipei101 area using blue line. There is an amazing food street behind the hotel, as well as simple ********* breakfast stores in front of the hotel. Near the area is also an electronics district and Don Don Donki within 10min walk.
The bathroom was great, the water pressure was great and heated toilet came with bidet.
Would visit again for the food street but will bring my own pillows next time ☺️

Excellent and very friendly service throughout my entire stay from doorman to concierge to front desk to housekeeping to restaurant to gym. Great location next to Shandao temple MRT and within walking distance to Taipei station, nice restaurants, cafes and the famed Fuhang soy milk. I also enjoyed the excellent lunch buffer at the hotel restaurant Kitchen 12 at incredibly reasonable price. But please note that Marriott Bonvoy platinum elite or higher tier members do not receive the usual executive lounge access or free breakfast if you book via Trip.com (you need to book directly with Marriott to enjoy the benefits).

1. Misleading Entrance Signage
Upon arrival, we followed the signage pasted on a pillar that directed guests to a staircase entrance. However, when we reached that entrance, we were shocked to find the door marked with the sign “来宾止步” (“Guests Stop Here”). When we raised this with your staff, we were told that this entrance has not been in use since the COVID-19 period. While we understand that certain operations may have changed during the pandemic, COVID-19 restrictions have ended for more than two years. If the primary entrance has been permanently closed, why has no corrective action been taken and the misleading signage still left there? Carrying heavy luggage up and down a sloped path unnecessarily was frustrating and avoidable.
2. No Staff Assistance or Clear Signage at the New Entrance
When we finally located the new entrance, there were no staff members on standby to assist us, nor was there any clear external signage indicating that this was the correct way to access the lobby. The explanation given later was that all staff were away assisting with parking which is not acceptable. At least one person should have been assigned to remain at the entrance, or the last person leaving should have arranged for another colleague to cover the position. In addition, the Operations Director mentioned that there is signage inside the new entrance directing guests to take the elevator to the lobby. However, this logic is flawed. If guests cannot locate the correct entrance in the first place, how could they possibly see a sign placed inside?
3. Poorly Trained and Unprofessional Front Desk Behavior
After struggling outside, we called the number listed on Google. Only then did someone finally come out and lead us in. By that time, we were exhausted and upset. When we confronted the front desk staff about why they ignored us, despite us clearly visible outside the “来宾止步” glass door, making eye contact and knocking for help, but they claimed they “did not see us.” This excuse was clearly untrue, as we observed them looking in our direction. Even more disappointing, none of the front desk staff offered an apology even until we requested to speak to the Operations Director and asked him to review the CCTV footage. After reviewing the footage, the Operations Director confirmed that the front desk had not been alert and apologized on their behalf. However, he did not acknowledge that the front desk’s attitude and lack of sincerity were also serious problems. Being “not alert enough” and showing no sense of apology or empathy are two entirely different issues.
As an international hotel, the front desk is the first impression of your service. Regardless of the quality of your facilities, this poor experience completely overshadowed the positive aspects of our stay. It also severely damages the reputation of Kagaya Group — a brand that has long been admired for its exemplary Japanese hospitality and politeness. Although we appreciate the Operations Director’s effort to make amends by offering us a meal and gifts (which we declined), it remains undeniable that this incident reflects a failure in staff training and management oversight.
We hope that management will seriously review this incident, especially the issues of:
- Inadequate and misleading signage at the entrance
- Lack of staff presence and assistance upon guest arrival
- Poor front desk awareness and unprofessional behavior
We trust that Kagaya Group will uphold its proud tradition of service by addressing these problems promptly and ensuring no other guests experience such treatment in the future.
Thank you for your attention.

Had a fantastic stay! The front desk staff were incredibly welcoming. The hotel's location near Taipei Main Station is super convenient, and it's really close to Eslite Bookstore and Zhongshan MRT Station. There are so many amenities right downstairs too, like a convenience store, KFC, breakfast shops, and bubble tea places – just perfect. Inside, the hotel was clean and bright. Highly recommend!

- Location: Very convenient. Right in front of Taipei main station. Accessible to convenient stores, fruit stalls, walkable distance to Ximending. A bit difficult to find at first as Google map leads the way to use the back side of the elevator. The hotel is on the 5th floor of the brick colour building. Enter through the entrance next to the family mart then use the elevator on the most end.
- Room: No window in my room but that's fine, as we stay in the hotel only at night. If you plan to spend lots of your time in the room, then this place is not for you. The room is not sound proof. So you can hear people walking in the lobby or talking/laughing from the room next door.
- Guest type: I noticed that most of the guests are asian.
- Hygiene: if you are a germaphobic, then you might feel gross with their carpet. But overall, the toilet, shower, and sink are clean. Bed sheets are also ok. I think what downgrades the room the most is the old carpet. We put a make up room sign everyday before we left and our room got cleaned, towels being replaced everyday.
- Service: staffs know what they are doing.

Chee Kieong LeongThe cleanliness was acceptable and consistent with the hotel’s facility rating. The location was excellent and suited our needs perfectly, as it is located right next to Taipei Main Station and can be reached in less than a 10-minute walk via the underground passage.
Breakfast is served on the 6th floor, but there is no lift access, which may be inconvenient for elderly guests or those with mobility issues. However, it should not be a problem for younger guests.
Overall, the hotel met our expectations and offered good value for its convenient location.

The room is clean and comes with two pillows. The air conditioning is very cold. The building and the room are a bit old, but the location is excellent — right across from the Net store in Ximending. Check-in is on the 13th floor. There are two elevators, and during busy times, you have to wait for one to be available.
The staff are very helpful and provide good service. Luggage storage is available both before check-in and after check-out. Check-in is quick. The shower controls attached to the wall aren’t very sturdy, but the water pressure is strong and heats up quickly.
The toilet is Japanese-style, without a bidet spray. There’s no wardrobe, only a hanging rod with hangers. Other than that, everything is quite convenient.
