The rooms are relatively small, which is a characteristic of this hotel. The most interesting thing is that it's located in the middle of a famous local red-light district; if you're feeling adventurous in the evening, you can take a stroll – it's a truly unique experience.
The hotel is showing its age a bit, but it's probably the best you'll find in Miyazaki. There were a lot of Japanese guests, and I barely saw any other foreign tourists. The fireworks show at night was absolutely incredible! The only downside is that there aren't many convenience stores nearby; you have to walk through a forest to find a 7-Eleven. There are also some attractions close by, but I didn't have time to visit them.
Miyazaki is a small city so getting around is not difficult if you stay in this hotel. There is a few local buses to the hotel from the JR Miyazaki station. Within walking distance of 10min you can find almost everything from shopping to izakaya. The best part I like is the sauna and hot spring. It has outdoor and indoor hot spring baths and sauna. Amenities in the public bath is complete with lotion, tonic, hair gel, shaving form and even towel is provided so you don't need to bring your own. Overall, a great hotel.
The hotel is located near the business district, with DONKI nearby, as well as many izakayas and restaurants.
The quarantine hotel already has a parking lot, and overnight parking costs 1,000 yen.
There is a hot spring on the top floor, and you can have popsicles after soaking in the hot spring.
Please have ramen for supper after 9:30pm
This is the best decision I’ve made during my trip in Miyazaki. I should have stayed longer here than I did in the previous booking. Almost everything is almost perfect, from the artificial hot spring to the traditional Japanese bedrooms, which are great additions to the Japanese experience. I believe it is one of the most affordable hotels in the area.
The breakfast is a buffet that is included in my stay, and I had to add the Dinner buffet, which is very worth the price since the place doesn't have many restaurants nearby. The hotel is also within a 5-10 minute walk from the JR train station. The staff are also friendly.
I definitely will be back here when I revisit Miyazaki soon. The day I visited was rainy, so I was unable to visit many places.
Stayed one night, location is a bit isolated in terms of restaurants and things to do. Definitely an outdated hotel and could do with a renovation, however the room was definitely very large for Japanese standards so the was a plus!(superior queen). If self driving there is a multistory carpark right behind hotel so that’s also a plus.
A rock-paper-scissors game was set up for the children to enjoy, and my daughters had fun playing it with the staff and receiving presents.
There was only a shower, so we went in the hot spring, which was thick and felt great.
With the ocean right in front of us, we ate our lunch outside.
The location was great, as we could walk to Aoshima Shrine.
My kids were happy and said they would like to stay again.
Thank you very much.
It's about 20-30min drive into Miyazaki town but thats not the main reason why you'd choose this Hotel. It's right by the Sea with so much activities that it's one of the places we wished we stayed an extra day. The Hotel is massive and due to the design, it looks like each room will have a good-excellent sea view. Come in the Summer and enjoy the activities and the surrounding areas.
Very nice restaurant! Affordable, delicious breakfast and dinner, friendly service staff. The room is also very clean and big
Very good, enough space in the room.
The parking lot is also convenient at the door.
I was misled by Ctrip's traffic instructions. I took the Nichinan Line to Orisha Station. Although it was close to the hotel, there were no taxis at the exit. I walked for nearly an hour to get to the hotel. When I checked out, the hotel arranged a free car to take me to the station. There were no restaurants or convenience stores around the hotel, which was a bit inconvenient. The facilities and baths were OK, and many locals came to take a hot spring bath.

MMaria FlinkWhen I saw where the hotel was located, I immediately knew that I wanted to stay there because I dreamed of seeing Amanoiwato Jinja. I went to the cave twice, in the morning and in the evening, there is a very beautiful road, and it only takes about 20 minutes to walk. It is also easy to get to Takachiho Gorge, the bus stop is a couple of minutes from the hotel.
This was my first experience of staying in a traditional hotel in Japan, and I really liked everything. Delicious dinner and breakfast - I tried a traditional kaiseki dinner, and it was an amazing experience. Attentive, caring hotel staff, perfect cleanliness everywhere, amazing mountain air. Natural wood in the room decoration creates a feeling of warmth and comfort. In the bathroom, you can try Japanese cosmetics. In the evening, you can drink tea, sitting in a comfortable chair with a book. At first, the silence around is unusual, but for us, city dwellers, it is necessary. Since it is dark around, you can see the starry sky - you will not see this in the city. There is a free shuttle from the hotel to the traditional Yokagura show in the evening. For someone interested in mythology, this was very interesting.
I did not get the hang of the hot tub right away and I still feel awkward about it, and I forgot to mention that I am allergic to onions, but it is my fault for forgetting to mention it.
I would highly recommend the Ryokan Iwatoya, it was an amazing experience.

BBubuWuThe rooms are comfortably and elegantly designed, fully equipped, and provide high-quality beds and a quiet resting environment. The service staff is enthusiastic and professional, and can respond to needs quickly, making the stay experience more pleasant. The hotel offers a variety of dining options, rich and delicious breakfast, as well as facilities such as a gym and swimming pool to meet the needs of different travelers. The overall environment is clean and tidy, and the cost-effectiveness is high. It is a recommended accommodation option.
