The room was very clean. The location is super convenient, just a 5-minute walk to the subway. There are 3 large shopping malls nearby, and ordering takeout is really easy. The common area is great for eating takeout, and there are plenty of clean showers and restrooms, so no waiting in line. The front desk staff was also very welcoming; they gave me a free upgrade to a 6-person room. Sister Lixin Jing was particularly kind! ^-^ (picture of common area eating takeout)

I really loved the design of the first two floors; no need for an elevator. My hand-washed clothes (the ones I didn't even wring out) dried completely overnight at the end of the second-floor corridor. There are two washing machines available in the ground-floor common area, activated by scanning a QR code. As pictured, the en-suite bathroom was exceptionally clean and odor-free, including the toilet and sink (I'm highlighting this because the contrast with other hostels I've stayed in is stark). The shower had excellent hot water pressure and was very clean. Having a lockable locker provided great peace of mind (some hostels don't even offer them). I also liked the name 'Mengting'. The location is incredibly convenient; the subway station is just a few hundred meters away. Ordering takeout was super easy and affordable, and with numerous restaurants within a one-kilometer radius, delivery was always prompt.

I had a really pleasant stay at HiCozy in Shanghai. It’s the kind of hostel that feels genuinely international: you meet travelers from everywhere, the atmosphere is friendly without being noisy, and it’s easy to settle in whether you’re staying a couple of nights or longer. What I appreciated most was how well the place is run day to day. The common areas are comfortable for chatting or getting a bit of work done, and the overall environment felt tidy and well cared for. I also found it easy to get help whenever I had questions about the area or needed something sorted out. Special thanks to Ms. Melody — she was warm, patient, and truly professional. She made check-in smooth, answered my questions clearly, and her attentive attitude made a real difference to my experience. It’s always memorable when someone goes beyond “doing their job” and helps you feel welcomed.

The microwave, water, and disposable cups were a nice touch. There's a bus stop right outside, which is very convenient. The overall environment is clean and hygienic. The communal tables are generally clean, though the white one could be a bit dirtier. There are several restrooms. The one near the mirror in the women's restroom can sometimes be a bit dirty, but the others are all very clean, as are the sinks. Just note that no disposable toiletries are provided, and the room itself is quite small, making it hard to fit luggage.

If your budget is around 100 yuan, don't hesitate, just choose this one. You won't be disappointed with the experience. The room is very spacious; even when fully occupied, it doesn't feel cramped or crowded. You can spread out your luggage without any issues. The transportation is convenient, with Metro Exit 10 right across the street, less than 200 meters away. The bed looked clean, was very soft, and had no strange odors. There are many aunties (housekeepers) who clean very promptly every day. You barely see any trash anywhere, and whether it's in the common areas, the room, or the bathroom trash bins, I never saw them overflowing during my stay. It's as if they're replaced almost immediately after being emptied. The aunties are incredibly diligent!

Since we do not understand Chinese, locating the hotel was challenging. The entrance is small and tucked beside a local restaurant, requiring guests to walk all the way in to find the elevator leading to the property. We were looking for a “Dengba Hotel” sign, as the address indicated Building #1426. Instead, we saw a sign reading “Ashram Yard” and entered a room with tables and chairs. When we asked the front desk if this was Dengba Hotel, they were initially unsure until I showed our online booking. We booked four rooms more than three weeks prior to our stay and requested that all rooms be on the same floor, as we were traveling with senior citizens and children. Unfortunately, one room was assigned on the 3rd floor, which required me to frequently go up and down to check on my elderly parents. The front desk staff, especially those on duty in the morning, were helpful despite the language barrier. The bedroom and bathroom were both spacious. Room cleaning can be requested via WeChat. There are several nearby restaurants, a fruit stand, and convenience stores, which added to the overall convenience of the location.

A truly wonderful, warm, and well-equipped youth hostel. It's very close to the Bund, and you can see the Oriental Pearl Tower right from downstairs. I'm so glad I chose this place for my solo trip. So many stories were left here – about Shanghai, about youth, about travel. I, too, couldn't help but leave a piece of my 'story' here. My gratitude is beyond words…

What an amazing experience! The front desk staff was so enthusiastic. When she saw me struggling with two suitcases, she greeted me while rushing over to open the door and even tried to help me with my luggage. It almost made this big guy embarrassed! The facilities inside were exactly as pictured, even better. The absolute highlight was the huge 200-300 square meter drying area on the top floor – probably the largest online. Six washing machines and dryers lined up in a row were a huge convenience for long-term guests, and the drying area has a transparent roof, so it's good come rain or shine. The drying area is so massive that a portion of it has been converted into a relaxation zone, with starry string lights on the ceiling. Imagine a few beers and a barbecue up there on a summer night – simply fantastic!

The environment and facilities here are truly excellent, no complaints. It's the best hostel I've stayed in so far. The young ladies and the landlady were incredibly nice; on the day I arrived, they even helped me carry my suitcase up to the third floor, which I actually showed to my friends, haha. The value for money is really high. Personally, I think being a kilometer from the subway station isn't an issue, especially with shared bikes available.

This is the best hostel ever! The rooms are clean and tidy, and the auntie cleans them every day. There's a lobby right when you walk in, with fresh flowers everywhere, filling the air with a lovely fragrance that really brightens your mood. The front desk girl is so nice and welcoming, it's like a breath of fresh air!
