The hostel is located in the commercial center area of Ganzhou District, Zhangye City, Gansu Province, an ancient city with a history of two thousand years on the Silk Road. You can taste various traditional snacks within 100 meters of leaving the store. It is only a 7-8 minute walk from the Ming Dynasty architecture - Bell and Drum Tower - and the millennium old temple of the Western Xia Dynasty - the Great Buddha Temple, which is located in the city center. Within 150 meters of the hostel, there is the largest supermarket and shopping and dining center in the city, making it convenient for you to provide travel supplies and dining entertainment. The surrounding banks, pharmacies, cinemas, and other facilities are complete. We have prepared various room types for you in the store. Leisure bar, self-service kitchen, self-service laundry room (with hangers and drying area), public bathroom, public computer, and reading room are all available. "We had an excellent experience here! The location is great, close to restaurants, supermarkets, and Dafo Temple. The non-smoking room truly had no cigarette smell and was clean. The shared bathrooms were also clean (the staff cleans them several times a day). Upon checking in, they sent us files with tips, recommendations, and information about the tours they organize (it's possible to book round-trip transportation to Danxia in the afternoon for 40¥). The hostel staff were very kind and helpful. We felt welcomed and well taken care of here. The only area for improvement would be the Wi-Fi quality, which was slow in the evenings, but this was minor compared to all the other positive aspects. We would certainly return on a future trip to Zhangye!"

"You have to give a 100yuan deposit for the key card. I had trouble with my WeChat not accepting the refund, and when I asked the staff to help, they sighed and got annoyed. Even went as far to say “my head hurts” to nearby customers and other unnecessary stuff in mandarin thinking I couldn’t understand. Like, my head hurts too, I just want the money back that you said you’d refund me. All worked out in the end, but didn’t appreciate the attitude. Also even though this is called a youth hostel, there were many older people staying which led to a weird vibe. Good location and ok for the night but I wouldn’t stay again"

The Xingyuan Youth Hostel in Zhangye is located at No. 160, Labor Street, in the center of Zhangye. It is approximately 8 minutes' walk from the Bell Tower and the Western Xia Great Buddha Temple. There are convenient banks and pharmacies nearby. The hostel offers various types of rooms, which are clean and tidy. The rooms are equipped with Wifi, 24-hour hot water, a hair dryer, a large-screen cable TV, newspapers, books, etc. The hostel has a small lounge bar, a laundry room (providing hangers and a drying area), a public bathroom, a public internet cafe, and a reading room. It also has a parking lot, an indoor bicycle storage area, and a security monitoring system. It provides detailed and safe itinerary planning as well as carpooling and charter tour consultation services.
"I booked a bed in the female dormitory for 2 nights, my friends booked other beds/rooms. The hostel has all the necessary amenities. There is even a washing machine if you need to do laundry. The bedding was fresh and clean. Plenty of sockets for charging devices. You will need to bring your own shower gel for the shower and the toilets are squat toilets which is standard in China. Met a lovely German girl while staying here. The host is a lovely and very helpful woman, she assisted us with any queries and even gave us some watermelon while we waited for our driver. If you want to visit any of the popular tourist spots in the Zhangye area she can organise a car tour for you and very reasonable prices- all very easy through WeChat. I visited the rainbow mountains/Zhangye National Geopark/Zhangye Danxia Geopark (张掖国家地质公园) and Mati Si temple (马蹄寺) while in Zhangye. The hostel is in a very good location too. The common area is nice and there is a tea station where you can help yourself to a cup of tea. All in all a very pleasant stay and I would stay here again."

"Overall, my stay was extremely satisfying! The hotel environment is quiet, and the room was spotlessly clean with no strange odors. The bed was just the right firmness, allowing for a very good rest. The staff were gentle and polite, and very efficient. The facilities were excellent, with a complete set of toiletries provided. The location is superb, making it easy to find places to eat and shop. It offers incredible value for money, and staying here made my trip very comfortable. I highly recommend it!"

"第一次體驗蘭州的青旅，感覺非常不錯。1.店內環境可以，衞生收拾很到位。2.店老闆熱情好客，有事諮詢會事無鉅細的講解。3.配套齊全。配有一次性拖鞋、牙刷、小袋裝洗髮水。真的很棒。4.位置很好，樓下就是張掖路步行街、夜市小吃，喜歡逛吃的旅友在這住非常棒。樓下負一還有經濟實惠的快餐。步行十多分鐘既到景區。5.交通方便，公交、地鐵走不遠就有。6.景區可視，在旅社這一層就能看到中山橋、白塔寺，美景盡收眼底。第一次看到黃河裡的水這麼清澈。給到好評最主要還是店老闆熱情好客，相當不錯，後續來蘭州必住。"

"숙소 청결이 그렇게 좋진않아요. 근데 다들 너무 친절해요. A동 22층으로 가야해요 처음에 찾기 너무 어려웠어요. 휴지랑 비누가 없어요ㅠ(이게 너무 불편했음) 수건제공도 안되구요. 밤 몇시부터는 드라이어사용 금지였어요! 정수기랑 슬리퍼 드라이어 있고 치약칫솔 샴푸 바디워시는 일회용품 있어요! 근데 다들 너무 친절하셔서 좋은기운 받고갔어요 무료짐보관도 가능해요"

GGuest UserI stayed in a 4-person room. The room was minimalist and medium-small, with lockers – basic but comfortable. The common area is stylish and inviting, with plenty of seating, cozy corners, plants, kettles, and power outlets, though it’s on a high floor with a glass ceiling – warm when hot, cozy when cold, and the few fans aren’t always enough. The staff at the desk were friendly, laundry facilities available, though no snacks or cold drinks. The area is urban, among regular buildings, so not particularly attractive from the outside, but within walking distance to the museum and the metro station, with a large supermarket and several food options nearby. Overall, a decent place to stay in Lanzhou.

Gghl.I stayed in this hostel for a total of 5 nights, with two breaks when I went on tours outside of Lanzhou. I have put in reviews earlier, so this is my final for the hostel that had begun to feel like Home.
The hostel itself is very comfortable a stay: clean, comfortable wide bed with sliding door for privacy, nice seating areas... It is run by a family who take turns staying over so that there is 24 hour reception. All are friendly and kind, especially the father. The parents don't speak English but you can easily use a translation app; other guests will probably interact with you.
The location: it is situated about a 5 minute walk to the Yellow River Tower, and a further 10 minute walk to the Lanzhou Old Street area where there is an amazing array of food options. Just outside the hostel is a Halal (Muslim-run) restaurant called (Ruhua 如华）which the hostel owners say have been in operation for 20 or 30 years. The hand-pulled (手抓) mutton that I had there was fantastic, even though I am typically not a mutton eater --- the taste is a delicate and balanced mix of light spices (I could taste a hint of ginger, for example) and saltiness. And the 八宝茶 is also excellent. A 7 minute walk to the right after exiting the hostel (past the above -mentioned restaurant) to the main road where many buses ply, you will find another good mix of local food options, especially in the morning.
The hostel is conveniently located near the Lanzhou West railway station. There is a bus 136 that runs just outside the hostel and gets you to the railway station in 20 minutes.
Hope this helps someone deciding on where to stay in Lanzhou, since there doesn't seem such a good range of hostels.

MMariiaKipThe hostel is good cared and clean. I think I saw a housekeeper every time when I went out from my room and she was always cleaning smth. That attitude already says a lot about the place. There is a nice not big common area with TV and we even watched a bit of Titanic, water dispenser with available cold and hot water. The staff is speaking English and they organise different tours around the area. It’s very handy. We took 2 tours with them and enjoyed a lot. One to PingShanHu canyon and another to Colourful Danxia. We also met many good-hearted foreign and local travellers there and made friends with some. Speaking about the room the condition was good enough. We shared one room with my friend. It’s a great value for money. Thank you for the incredible stay!

GGuest UserIt's the best place to know the location, but it's a bit difficult for foreigners. I was able to speak a little Chinese for about an hour. Especially because I didn't understand any of the words here. Still, I went to twists and turns. Thank you for checking in early. But the first impression was not very positive. I met a guest who smoked too naturally in the living room. Then the dormitory was too dark to even turn on the light. It's like night and day. But the bed is far away and all the facilities are comfortable. Even a small folding desk ~ admired the boss's sense.
But the toilet sink was always full of cigarette ash and smelled of cigarettes. It was shared by men and women, but this part was difficult. The smell of cigarettes is painful for non-smokers. Eventually, it poured into the neck. It's a good place for smokers and people who are very familiar with Chinese. Because non-smokers and toilets are shared, it is not recommended for women.

GGuest UserThe environment is very new! I'm quite particular about bathroom cleanliness, and this place really delivered. The cleaning staff were very diligent, keeping the toilet and shower sparkling clean and well-maintained overall. There's a public microwave, water dispenser, and refrigerator, which is convenient for buying drinks. They also have an automatic washing machine that you can use with coins, and you can exchange coins at the front desk. The guests generally seem to be well-behaved; everyone in the lobby was quiet and didn't play loud music. Access to the guest room area requires a key card, and guests in the rooms were also considerate, which I appreciate. The bedding was already made up, so I didn't have to do it myself, and it was quite comfortable to sleep in. Overall, I had a great impression; the staff were patient. It's a clean and comfortable option that I'd recommend to everyone.

Gghl.The staff and volunteers were all great! I am truly impressed by how helpful they were. I think the young boss should take credit for this - staff seems to have autonomy to make decisions and therefore were confident and sure of what they could offer.
My two favourite persons from the hostel in the pictures : ) But this morning there were another staff and a volunteer who really went out of their way to consider and advise two travellers regarding hitchhiking.
I wasn't disturbed by the smell of the camels. Location wise, it's really convenient to visit the oasis and sand dunes. Downside : food in the area is limited in choice and quite costly. Plus: it's really not that far from the city. There's a bus #3 that takes you for ¥2 to the city and back. Didi rides are also mostly under ¥10 to the city.

AAnonymous UserI think it was great! The beds were clean and cozy. I came here based on recommendations from other platforms, and they weren't exaggerating. The owner is really nice and thoughtful. My only minor complaints are that the shower area is a bit dark, which made me a little scared showering alone late at night, and the shelf for putting things is a bit high, not very convenient for shorter people. Also, the air conditioning was really hot; even on a low setting, it was still warm. I didn't dare turn it off completely because I wasn't sure if my roommate was hot, but I was sweating all night and couldn't even use the blanket. Other than that, everything was good. The small courtyard is also very inviting, and you can tell it's well-maintained. If I come back to Zhangye in the future, I'll definitely stay here again, haha.

They speak English and can provide recommendations.
I think it’s a really friendly hostel, and it’s easy to make friends here. Jiejie even took us for a drive near the desert so we could get a closer view of the snow-capped mountains. It truly was a great stay!

AAnonymous UserThe guesthouse has a great location, overlooking the Bailong River. It has its own courtyard, and parking is convenient during the off-season. The rooms have all the necessary amenities and are clean. A short walk away, turning left leads to Langmusi (Gansu), and turning right across a small bridge leads to Langmusi (Sichuan). The street in Langmusi, Sichuan, is quite lively with various restaurants, making dining convenient, including ******* and Sichuan cuisine. The guesthouse owner is very honest and kind. The price for extending the stay the next day was even cheaper than on Ctrip. He helped carry luggage upstairs, provided ample bottled water daily, patiently introduced nearby attractions, and even kindly gave us several bottles of water to take with us on the road. Excellent service, great location, and great price; if you're going to Langmusi Town, feel free to book with him.
