"The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and we really appreciated the luggage storage service. It allowed us to leave our bags after checkout and explore the museum before our flight, which was very convenient. However, there were a few downsides. The hotel provides a washing machine as an amenity, but laundry detergent is not included. When we asked for it, we were told it costs $2 per capsule. Since we stayed for 4 days and packed light expecting to do laundry, this was a bit disappointing, especially as it’s a basic necessity for using the machine. Cleanliness could also be improved. The bin in our room was noticeably dirty when we arrived. Overall, the stay was decent due to the helpful staff, but there are areas that could be improved to enhance the overall experience."

"Overall is great, but still feel the whole hotel a little old, and one point: we asked the receptionist for shaver and toothbrush, he said all in the room, but actually there’s nothing. We need to phone service team for several times ( we only asked one thing first cause we believed there are everything except that one, then we found others were not there……), really inconvenient. The food is great, and the guy there is very friendly!"

"The room was really good for what we needed. Was just hard washing dishes in the bathroom. The lift was broken, which is out of your control, however it would have made it easier to be able to access the stairs. Other than that, thanks for the stay, would recommend"

"I wanted to stay somewhere close to public transport. The main train station is just a stone’s throw away. It is near the end of Lambton Quay- the main drag in Wellington. Also for my friends who live in the outer suburbs of Wellington this hotel is close to the freeway and an easy access to collect me. The room is really clean and spacious and there is a kitchenette with stove and microwave to heat up/cook food. The bathroom is huge and has an accessible shower which is quite impressive."

"This building has an earthquake rating of 15% and that's not in its online description anywhere. By the time you arrive and see this sign on the door it is not possible to cancel your booking and find somewhere else. Absolutely unacceptable to not warn people that they are paying for a room in a building that may pose a deadly risk in the case of a large earthquake. Of course the likelihood of this earthquake happening is very low but you are still gambling with your life and you have the right to know that when you make the booking."

"We have always enjoyed staying at QT Museum Hotel. We were given the option to upgrade to a Seaview room on the top floor with an additional charge. Seeing it is a more quiet room compared to my booking request on the 1st floor near road traffic and rubbish bin area, I paid the extra for the upgrade per night for 2 nights. Our room was not serviced well the following day. Rubbish bin in the bathroom being the only one was not emptied. The Bath and Shower gel was not replenished, we had to asked for it to be refilled. the cushions on the bed was still on the floor from the night before, the ironing board was still left out - I did not put it back as the iron was still very hot after ironing my dress for my conference that morning. The gym facilities was very tired with all towels being used and the used towels bin was overflowing. I was very disappointed with my stay this trip, using shortage of staff since Covid is a very old excuse now. Systems and procedures should be in placed by management to ensure the 5 star ratings is upheld. No point upselling or selling more rooms if they cannot keep customers happy to come back again. This was not only my opinion but that of my colleagues. very disappointing!"

"Stayed one night at James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor for a conference held onsite. Check-in staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel has three separate lift banks servicing different areas — if you’re unfamiliar with Wellington, definitely ask staff to explain the easiest exit route to the city. It makes a big difference. Breakfast was a very large buffet with plenty of options, though I’ve experienced better quality elsewhere. The hotel itself is older but has solid bones. Perfectly adequate for a work overnight stay. For personal travel I’d probably choose somewhere with more atmosphere, however it felt safe and comfortable. One odd feature: some rooms face an internal terrace/window area — remember to close your curtains as people can see straight in. Bed was clean and well made, the room was tidy, though the carpet is showing its age. The shower had excellent pressure and plenty of hot water — a highlight. Overall: reliable, practical conference accommodation rather than a destination stay."

"We needed a place to stay in Wellington for a couple of nights and selected Trinity in a random selection online. Criteria were, reasonably easy to get to by car, reasonable proximity to Te Papa and reasonable price. Trinity covered those bases. Online booking was simple as was check-in. Car parking was in a Wilsons building just across the street, arranged by the hotel. The facilities were up to our expectations. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the bathroom amenities were all you could wish for. We were away from the hotel all day, so didn't need anything else. We had one evening meal in the restaurant and that was quite adequate in terms of preparation, flavors and portion size. Check-out was straightforward and we were offered storage for our luggage for the day although we didn't need that service. We are well into our 70's but walking to attractions was not an issue. We were more than happy with our stay and in similar circumstances would stay there again."

If you are wanting a very no frills basic hotel this is it. Has parking but be warned they are very tight parking spots not good for larger vehicles.  You can hear people taking out in the corridors quite noisy. The white duvet had questionable stains on it 🤢. No hand towel to dry your hands on. The room was not made up while we were there. No tea bag’s etc topped up.  The shower is over a bath and getting out is a deep step down on one leg nothing to hold onto so no good for people with mobility issues or elderly.   I did like that the vanity hand basin was outside of the toilet and shower meaning I could do make up etc without taking the  bathroom up while my husband was in there.  The wood around the hand basin/vanity was warping.  Good location just a walk away to Central CBD.

Location-wise, it's right by Wellington train station, making it a great choice if you're arriving by train or heading to London. Facilities: They're quite old. The air conditioning was one of those large, vintage units I'd never seen before, and it was incredibly noisy, so I just turned it off. The room had a microwave and cutlery, and surprisingly, a mini-bar – which you usually don't find in hotels at this price point. However, there was a snag: no price list for the mini-bar. While I knew the bottled water in the fridge wouldn't be free, I was still surprised to be charged $7 upon checkout (when a similar bottle is around $2.50 at the supermarket). Service: The downstairs restaurant has long operating hours. I was able to order a delicious burger after a late check-in, and grab a coffee and a pastry to go during an early checkout. Most of my positive impression comes from that restaurant.

The room is actually not as big as the picture, but the sanitation is very good. The front desk is very friendly and always provides the help you need. On the first day, I gave me a map of the city. After 2 days, I measured the seaside streets and piers with my feet. It is even more friendly for passengers taking the Airport Express AX. Under the intersection of Manners Street and Willis Street, walk south on the right hand side of the uphill road. Tea and coffee tubes are enough, and chocolate. I can't drink coffee anymore, I drink chocolate, and the hotel also prepared a large cup for me intimately. Very close to Cuba Street, in fact, not far from where to go. When I left, Beth happened to be off work, went home and drove BYD, took me to the airport, and turned a corner to see the filming place of the Lord of the Rings. Really friendly. If I go to Wellington again, I will definitely choose their home.

location is great! just a short walk to Cuba Street and waking distance to Wellington Waterfront, Civiv district and Wellington Cable Car. room is spacious and the kitchenette well equipped, we love there is a washing machine and dryer in the aparrment, a good stop choice for doing laundry and cooking home meals, few eating places around the area for those eating out, but some f&b do close pretty early with afternoon rest between 2-5pm, so check out the timings. downside the fire evacuation alarm went off twice in a night, we got back to our rooms after a long wait, but the firemen and engines were a special perk to our trip. no daily housekeeping service so those with longer stays have to ask for fresh linens when required. staff are friendly and helpful, will recommend this place!

Location: Excellent. The restaurant offers direct sea views, and it's only a 5-minute walk to the Wellington logo and a large supermarket. Service: No one helped with luggage. Facilities: The washing machine in the room was broken, and the staff seemed helpless about it – it was truly awful, as I booked this hotel specifically for the convenience of doing laundry. The air conditioner in the bedroom is a Mitsubishi wall-mounted unit, which is incredibly noisy and blows directly onto one of the beds, making it impossible to sleep. It gets quite cold if you don't turn it on at night. Cleanliness: The lighting in the room was a bit dim, but otherwise acceptable. However, every time I picked up a plate or cup at the restaurant, there were small black particles of dust floating on them. Breakfast: Each person can order one main dish. On weekdays, the buffet selection is limited, but it's much richer on weekends with several hot dishes.

A great place to stay. With a lift down to Quay Street, its so convenient to the centre of town (a 5 min walk to TSB arena). The room had everything needed for a weekend stay. The bed was very comfortable with nice pillows. An on-site restaurant is a plus (that offers breakfast). Will definately consider booking here again.
