Location: near LinFenXi High Speed Rail Station 临汾西站(10mins drive/ 20mins by local public transport to LuoGuQiaoTou 锣鼓桥头站). Best is that they provide pick-up and drop-off at HSR station, just make a call 3 hours in advance. I dont have local number, so I email them in advance before my trip, they replied my email and provide me their WeChat number so I can make reservation for the pick-up service at the station. Many local tours have pick-up and drop-off service near the hotel (junction outside the hotel), easy and convenient. Services: warm and welcoming services. Tea and drinks in the lobby, luggage storage as well. Room: clean big room, big screen TV, mini bar fridge, bathrobe and comfy king bed. Lavender shower shampoo, hand soap and body lotion, make me feel so so much relax. Laundry: laundry machine are free of charge (washer and dryer). Laundry room provide ironing equipment, books, drink as well. Definitely not get bored. Otherwise, can use phone connect their website to make a reminder while the laundry have done (so convenient). Gym Room: just opposite and same level of laundry room. Treadmill are so new. Breakfast: varieties of choice. Before that I already crave for coffee since it is not so common to find espresso in the local breakfast restaurant. Salad bar, local meatball soup, noodles, dumplings, wantons, boiled egg, fried egg, fried tomato with egg and local cooked food. So many choice and so satisfying. However they dont have egg omelette, it is fine for me. I found that even though not staying at LinFen city centre, it is still fine to stay here as the traffic here is convenient. And here is more quiet and more relax👍 The only thing I dont like is, some customer smoking in the lift and hotel lobby (even though there is a sign in the lift to advice not to smoke), definitely affecting those unlike smoking smell and sick of cigarette smell like me.

We had an amazing stay at Sunyata Datong. The hotel beautifully blends traditional Chinese architecture with modern elegance, offering a serene and spotless environment that feels both authentic and refined. The hospitality was exceptional — every staff member was polite, attentive, and genuinely caring. Their attention to detail made the experience truly memorable, from the thoughtful room touches to the warm service at every interaction. The team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The breakfast was another highlight, with a wonderful selection of freshly prepared dishes that were both delicious and beautifully presented. A perfect blend of culture, comfort, and heartfelt service — Sunyata Datong is truly a gem and highly recommended for anyone visiting Datong

Unfortunately, the overall stay was not great. When we booked the hotel, we specifically requested a non-smoking room, which is essential for us because of health issues. After double confirming with the hotel that they have non-smoking rooms (based on the website, all rooms are non smoking), we paid for our booking. However, shortly after, they informed us that smoking in hotel rooms is common and unavoidable in Taiyuan. We felt deceived into making the payment and realized we were stuck with this accommodation for our 7-day stay. Upon checking in, we had to request a room change due to a strong smoke smell in the original room. The second room was better and the hotel staff was nice enough to provide an air purifier. Throughout our entire stay, people were smoking in the elevator, lobby, and even at the dinner table. If we had known this beforehand, we would have reconsidered staying here. For a 5-star hotel, it did not meet our expectations, and unfortunately, we paid far too much for this experience. The only highlight of our stay was the hotel staff. They were always friendly, helpful, and did their very best to serve the guests, which made our trip a bit more enjoyable. We thank them for their excellent service.

My partner and I visited Datong Ancient City, and choosing 'Boyuan' was the most delightful part of our entire trip!. The guesthouse is tucked away in the heart of the ancient city, making it incredibly convenient to explore Huayan Temple and the city walls. It offers a tranquil escape amidst the bustling streets; stepping into the courtyard instantly shields you from the urban noise. The overall design is a new-Chinese-style courtyard, with blue bricks, wooden windows, lanterns, and greenery creating an elegant and refined atmosphere. Every corner of the courtyard is a picturesque scene, perfect for traditional-style photos. Spending leisure time sipping tea and enjoying the cool breeze in the courtyard truly immerses you in the slow-paced life of an ancient capital. The room's cleanliness was impeccable, the bedding soft and comfortable, and the amenities complete and thoughtful. Given the dry northern climate, they even provided a humidifier. The soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a peaceful and restful night's sleep every evening. I must particularly commend the butler and staff; their service was warm, attentive, and discreet. From check-in guidance and recommendations for local sightseeing to promptly addressing any daily needs, their attention to detail was exceptional. The daily breakfast was authentic and delicious, a comforting start to the day, reflecting their meticulous care in every aspect. Staying at Boyuan was incredibly comfortable and relaxing, completely free of the usual constraints of being away from home. It felt like owning a private courtyard in the ancient city. I left with a heavy heart. I highly recommend Boyuan to couples and travelers visiting Datong, and I will definitely choose it again on my next visit to Datong!

The bedding was comfortable and the room design was reasonable, but the room had a noticeable smell of new renovations, and the facilities were generally unacceptable. Despite being advertised as a hotel built in 2025, the toilet sliding door was difficult to open, the bathroom sliding door did not close properly, the TV signal was poor and frequently froze and could not be projected, and the air conditioner made strange noises. It was simply impossible to associate this with the quality of a five-star hotel.

O quarto era limpo e higiênico, com um ambiente agradável, perfeito para sessões de fotos. Como fica dentro da cidade antiga, você precisa pegar o carro elétrico da cidade antiga para se locomover (a pousada providenciou isso). Talvez devido ao horário de pico da manhã, quando fizemos o check-out às 8h45, esperamos por mais de meia hora desde o momento em que chegamos à recepção até o momento em que finalmente entramos no carro. Isso precisa ser melhorado. O café da manhã não era particularmente farto. Como começa a servir às 6h30, os pratos já estavam frios quando chegamos por volta das 7h. Não conseguimos vê-los sendo aquecidos, o que também precisa ser melhorado. Afinal, o tempo está ficando mais frio, então ter refeições mais quentes pela manhã seria uma experiência melhor para os hóspedes!

This was my first time in Taiyuan, and I chose this hotel. It's conveniently located right next to a subway entrance, which was great because we used the subway for all our outings. Upon entering the room, my first impression was very positive. The facilities are new and modern, and the layout is quite practical. I'd especially like to commend the housekeeping team; their daily cleaning was meticulous. What truly touched us was the handwritten note on the desk on a rainy day, reminding us to take an umbrella and stay safe. This kind of personalized, thoughtful service instantly eased the typical frustrations of traveling in the rain. However, the soundproofing was a bit lacking. Between 10 PM and 11 PM, we could faintly hear conversations from the next room. Those sensitive to noise might want to bring earplugs. Also, the bathroom design could be improved: the showerhead only adjusts up and down, not side to side. The hand soap and lotion dispensers above the sink are too close together, making it easy to press the wrong one when you're still half-asleep in the morning. I suggest the hotel consider optimizing the spacing between them. The breakfast buffet offered a decent, but not particularly extensive, selection. When we arrived around 9 AM, some food trays were already empty, and it seemed the refills weren't keeping up with the guest flow, which was a minor disappointment. Despite these small flaws, the efficiency of the front desk staff was commendable. Both check-in and check-out were swift and seamless. When we left, the front desk proactively asked about our stay, and this attentiveness to guest experience made us feel very valued. Overall, my stay was pleasant. I sincerely hope the hotel addresses the issues with soundproofing, bathroom details, and breakfast replenishment. I believe that with these improvements, the experience would be even better!

暑假帶孩子來大同玩，在網上看到了，之前也多次住過温德姆，所以就訂了。雖然是新開的酒店，但是味道很小，可以忽略，設施齊全，停車方便。出現了一些小的問題，前台孫菡主動協調，也都及時妥善解決。總的來説很滿意，超值的體驗。

Great location and they were all super nice. However the room was super hot and there is no AC. When we asked they brought up a portable unit but it wasn’t nearly enough to keep the room comfortable. If it’s winter it could be a great spot but definitely look elsewhere in the late spring and summer.

This is a newly opened hotel with excellent facilities. The rooms are clean and tidy, the service is great, and the breakfast is also quite good. The hotel is conveniently located near Bell Tower Street and Food Street, with many old, reputable restaurants nearby, making dining very easy. The Jinshang Museum is also just 1km from the hotel.
