My family and I recently spent four nights at Patong Bay Hill Resort with friends, and overall, it proved to be a pleasant hillside retreat with both strengths and minor limitations.

We booked a pool access sea view room, which was impressively spacious. The bedroom comfortably accommodated our family of three, while the separate hall area could easily house an additional couple. The elevated location provides excellent panoramic views and delivers an authentic Thai local resort atmosphere that many guests will appreciate.
**Service & Amenities**
The staff consistently demonstrated exceptional hospitality throughout our stay. Room service operates until 11 PM, with housekeeping available 24 hours - a thoughtful touch for families. One pleasant surprise was discovering the resort spans multiple buildings across different elevations. For guests who prefer not to walk extensively, the resort provides complimentary 24-hour shuttle service between buildings and to the reception area.
Transportation to Patong Beach (1.5-2 km away) is conveniently provided via free shuttle service until 11 PM, with Bangla Road just another 200-300 meters beyond the beach.

I had a wonderful stay at Splash Beach Resort in Mai Khao as a couple. The resort is spacious, peaceful, and perfect for relaxing away from the busy tourist areas. One of the highlights is the beautiful Mai Khao Beach, just steps from the resort. The beach is quiet, natural, and perfect for long walks together, especially during sunset. A big bonus is the famous airplane photo spot near the beach, where planes fly very low as they land at Phuket Airport. It’s an amazing and unique experience, and the huge airplanes make incredible photos, not only for couples but also for families.

We had a really great stay at The Nature Phuket. The hotel is very clean and well maintained, and you can tell the staff take good care of the place. The location is convenient, close enough to the beach and main areas, but still quiet and relaxing.
Service was excellent from check in to check out. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always smiling, which made the stay even more comfortable. The facilities were also very good, especially the pool area, which was perfect for relaxing after a long day out.

The hotel is in a great location on the main rawai beach road. It has a two great pools to use and sunbeds. The WiFi was good at the hotel and that’s about it with are stay here. The beds in the room were rock solid and uncomfortable,the room had stains on the walls,tv and ceiling,the ones on the ceilings were from leaks from the roof, the shower head wouldn’t stay up correctly so had to hold it by hand and the light fitting above the sink wasn’t fixed into the ceiling.DeAED 163

I have mixed feelings about the hotel. On the one hand it's in a good location, on the other it is quite dated. The rooms I stayed in were nothing like the photos, and though I paid more for a better room I got a dated, slightly dusty room. The food in the restaurant was not the best, and the decor was quite outdated. The rooftop bar and bar tender were EXCELLENT and the sunset was magnificent! If the owners spent a bit of money to revamp the rooms and/or leaned into the old-fashionable kitsch of some of the rooms, it could be cute. The hotel room itself was clean and decent. However, the location is really not great. The surrounding area is filled with street stalls, which makes it unsuitable for families with small children. At night, it gets very noisy, and walking around is quite uncomfortable.
The beach is far and requires a car ride. It’s also difficult to get a Grab. Hotel food is quite expensive compared to other hotels.

We stayed for 3 nights and moved 3 times.
The first one was for changed in location. We were given a room next to a construction. It was dusty and there’s smell of paint. The second one, there were all kinds of smudges, spots and streaks on the walls — yellow, brown and white. Hair of various colors were all over the place. I found a round wound plaster I think sticking to the handle of the shower area. I asked them to clean the room while we’re there to which they responded to immediately. The transfer would have to be down by you without assistance, by the way. Oh and there’s no one to help you take up your luggages. Nonetheless, some trolleys that look a lot like the one for supermarkets are there, on standby, for your convenience. Watch out for this especially when there are children involved, PWD and etc. Some rooms especially on the ground floor I saw had steps in almost random places. Anyhow, we were quite comfortable after our second move. In the morning, the breakfast buffet area was overwhelming. There was an event running right next to the restaurant. Being first timers, you would really need to find your way through the maze of people and activities all happening at the same time. Incidentally that morning it was raining hard as well. There were all sorts leaks. It made a lot of mess especially on the floor. You need to set your table. Think of a food hall at the mall, this is generally the system. Prepare for a long line ahead of you at the 2 coffee stations. That morning, the team was able to manage it in my opinion. Service was courteous and friendly. The food was okay. Highlight for me would be the excellent choice of fruits — good quality, plus the pancake. The egg station was outside, unfortunately with the rain, it was quite a feat to get much beloved eggs. The roof was leaking in many parts in this area too. It wasn’t the most hygienic. A soup station is next to it. No A/C in the restaurant too. Old displays for cheese and salad. It reminded me of the grocery stores I went to with my family as a child. Aside from those two I have mentioned, the rest would be far from what you could expect from a 5-star. At this point, I’m still trying to place the hotel. But it’s surely not 5-star luxury. In fact, it helped so much when I reduced the expectation.
There are many places to be explored outside. The sidewalks are observed — truly helps to explore the place in peace with a child in tow. Ours was at the plaza nearby. This was truly enjoyable. It’s just on a tiny part on one side of the road where we missed the side walk. There was a big parking lot that helped us. Though a concern (for us) of course is exposure to smoking, some were doing so while they wait in the car and etc. At least in our rooms, upon entering there’s a tiny bit of elevation. Prepare to power through all your belongings with wheels up this step.
The interior of the room in actual is many steps down vs the photos. No toothbrush and toothpaste.
The toilet bowl has a consistent yellow buildup just above the tip of the water. I think it’s the water in Phuket. I hope it’s just the water. But given the experience at the on set with the cleanliness issue, it could likely be a different story. There’s bidet if this is important for you. There’s no cleaning/make up room everyday I was informed.
There’s a last move for us because our room window had to be locked.
On our last day, it was raining the whole morning. There’s water on the floor in our room. I thought my child made a mess. Upon closer look, the floor was leaking. The tiles were squeezed as we walked. This is a first time for me but not surprising given our experience from the start. Before we finally left, we were asked for our experience, I told the lady at the checkout counter about this finale. She surely apologized for it and she offered the sweetest smile.
Deposit of 3K Baht for us for a 3-night stay. The change was returned during the checkout.DeAED 1,218

This was our second stay at the hotel, and we booked two pool access deluxe rooms. Before arrival, we requested two connecting rooms, and the hotel made the arrangements for us. The breakfast was nicely arranged; although the selection was not very large, the food tasted good and the environment was comfortable with air conditioning. The main pool was excellent for enjoying time with friends, and the pool bar’s half-price happy hour offer was a great deal. However, the room cleanliness needs improvement, as we found insect droppings on the bed and had to ask the staff to change the sheets, duvet cover, and pillowcases immediately. The layout of the hotel is confusing. And there are so many steps and corners, it makes moving around the hotel difficult. They use trucks to pick you up but these are too big and uncomfortable. Not clear why they aren't using golf buggies. The grounds and rooms are very clean and beautiful though. The pools were less beautiful than in the pictures. I booked this hotel mainly for my daughter’s birthday, drawn by the kids’ splash pool — but it was closed the entire week without any prior notice, explanation, or alternatives. This was a big letdown, as the pool was the main reason for choosing this hotel.
On arrival, the lobby felt temporary and cheap, but it didn’t affect our stay. Our first room had a strong smoke smell despite a non-smoking request, though we were later moved to another clean, spacious, and comfortable room.
Service and communication need improvement. The TV promoted spa services, but no one answered the phone. I went down personally, only to be sent to a closed spa. The service was eventually found in a guest room with just one masseur. Housekeeping was slow — an iron took over an hour — and room service also had long waits.
We requested birthday decorations (not fulfilled), though a birthday cake was provided. Staff were friendly overall, especially at the restaurant.
Despite these downsides, we still loved and enjoyed our stay — the room was very comfortable and made up for many of the disappointments.DeAED 673

Lub D Phuket Patong Resort is an excellent choice for solo travelers, especially single ladies who appreciate space for their accessories. The standard single rooms assigned to us are perfectly sized, clean, and thoughtfully designed to offer comfort and privacy. Despite being a hostel, the room rates are affordable for having a private space all to ourselves, making it a great value option in a prime location just minutes from Patong Beach. The hotel is conveniently located near Patong's bar street, just a 2-3 minute walk away. Directly across from the hotel is the famous Number 6 restaurant, which offers good food at reasonable prices, averaging around 50-80 RMB per person. I booked a twin room, and to my surprise, the hotel assigned me a room with a balcony, which was perfect for drying clothes after two days of island hopping. I first discovered Sawasdee Village by chance while walking around in the evening, and the atmosphere absolutely amazed me. It felt like a hidden oasis in the middle of the tourist chaos, so I decided to plan my next trip around staying here.
The room itself was small but cozy and very clean, although a bit old and in need of some renovation. I had read about this in reviews beforehand, so I was prepared for it and booked only one night. Honestly, if the rooms were more modern, I would have gladly stayed for a week or longer. On the positive side, everything worked well: Wi-Fi was stable, the room was quiet, the bed was comfortable, and I loved the canopy and the ceiling with glowing stars. The view from my window overlooked the beautiful garden, and the room even had a humidifier with essential oils, which made it smell wonderful.
The property is simply stunning — two pools, a spa, a restaurant, water bars, billiards and table football, as well as plenty of cozy corners to relax in. It was a delight to stroll through the lush garden, sit by the fountains, and swing on the hammocks. Breakfast was included and offered a generous buffet with many choices. In the room I also had a capsule coffee machine, bottled water, tea, bathrobes, slippers, toiletries, insect repellent, cookies, and even a flashlight — such thoughtful details.
The staff were very kind and welcoming. They helped with my luggage and allowed me to check in 1.5 hours earlier since my room was ready. The location is also convenient, close to the beach and shops, and I loved the little foot shower at the entrance to wash off sand before entering the hotel.
As for value — it’s a bit mixed. On the one hand, the unique atmosphere and privacy are worth the price. On the other hand, I noticed that within the same hotel, villas with direct pool access were actually cheaper than the room I booked (although when I reserved my room, the pool villas were more expensive). Still, I think Sawasdee Village is a special place, perfect for a relaxing stay — even for something as romantic as a wedding photoshootDeAED 840

We booked the Pool View Bhuri Wing. The entire hotel is massive, with 7 swimming pools in total. The pool right below the Bhuri Wing is the largest and also the least crowded. All hotel pools offer lawn massages, which are decent for a simple relaxation, though the technique isn't exceptional. Right outside the hotel, there's a 7-Eleven and a few restaurants. The hotel is located in a quiet yet convenient part of Kata, only about a 10-minute scooter ride to the main Kata bustling area.
Check-in for the Thani Wing and Bhuri Wing are in completely different locations, about a five-minute walk apart. Personally, I prefer the Bhuri Wing; it's great for both couples and families, as the kids' pool and entertainment center are located here. The advantage of the Thani Wing is that I believe all its rooms offer sea views.
For seafood, we went to the Rawai Seafood Market, which was quite close, only about a 15-minute drive.DeAED 1,296

Everything is good, the atmosphere is great, clean, nice garden and friendly staffs, the Italian restaurant is fantastic!! only one thing can't make me back is the swimming pool is too dangerous, especially they have 2 pools but one is only for 18+ then only one can bring kids, but the point is no matter is the age, the pool should not have over few hundreds broken tiles, it's absolutely not acceptable, I wish they can repair the swimming pool so we will definitely visit again.DeAED 1,699

We stayed in the Family Connecting Room. It was excellent — connected but separate, with a door between. The AC was quiet and easy to adjust, and the balcony had a great view. Everything was very clean across the hotel.
The beach is a short walk away. At first I was unsure about walking along the road (not knowing Thailand), but it’s doable — not too busy, some lighting. There’s also a shuttle that takes you to the beach or back up to the rooms, though it didn’t run that often.
Breakfast was impressive, with a mix of local and Western options. The pool area was a highlight: lots of loungers, not too crowded, and a shaded amphitheatre-style seating area. My son loved the 5-meter jump into the pool — safe and open daily. I was nervous at first but ended up jumping too. The slide was a nice touch as well.
We got lucky with a local market one evening just outside the hotel — great street food and a fire show. Wi-Fi was solid. Staff were friendly, helpful, and had a good sense of humour. Mostly families staying when we were there. Noise wasn’t a problem, aside from the usual Thai birds calling out in the mornings.

This hotel is perfect for a vacation! The private beach is excellent for snorkeling; I saw even more fish species there than on the island hopping tour. The dining options are extensive, and I highly recommend the all-inclusive package, which lets you eat and drink from 11 AM onwards. The kids' club also offers childcare, and the staff are incredibly patient with the little ones, even if they don't speak English. There's a fantastic array of activities for both children and adults. If you walk two minutes to the right from the hotel entrance, you'll find a pharmacy and a convenience store that pretty much cover all your basic needs. There's also a laundry service nearby that's more affordable than the hotel's. Environment: The hotel is ideally located with a street full of massage parlors right outside the front door, and direct access to Karon Beach from the back, offering both lively and tranquil options – very convenient.
Hygiene: Despite being a sea-view room, there was absolutely no musty smell, which is quite rare and impressive.
Facilities: The only downside was the air conditioner or dehumidifier, which made a huge noise on the first night, disrupting my sleep. Then, on the third night, I turned off the lights before sleeping, and woke up to find them on by themselves – it was quite spooky! 😟

The hotel is excellent, and the staff is very attentive. The pool is fantastic, and the bartender at the poolside bar is great – their Mai Tais and Piña Coladas are incredibly delicious. It's also very close to the beach, which wasn't crowded at all. I enjoyed everything and would happily return.

This hotel is built on a hill, so its interior design is quite rich and layered, making it feel more interesting. The room itself was okay; the decor had a resort-like vibe, but the bathroom and shower lights were dim, and the disposable slippers were incredibly thin. Overall, the room was just average.
However, what truly stood out for me was the hotel's key amenity: the absolutely stunning infinity pool, which offers direct views over Kata Beach. It's incredibly photogenic! The restaurant is on the same floor, so on a nice day, you can enjoy a rooftop breakfast.
The hotel is actually very close to Kata Beach; you can walk down a slope and cut through an alley next to a 7-Eleven. For the low season, the price was quite reasonable.ESGOTADO

We stayed at this property for a few nights, but unfortunately our experience did not match what is presented online, especially on Instagram. Due to the strong promotion and well-edited photos, we decided to book, but if we had to choose again, we would not return.
One major issue was that the toilet and shower are located directly in the room, without any separation from the sleeping area, which was very uncomfortable and offered no privacy.
Cleanliness was acceptable but nothing more than average. Breakfast was reasonably varied, although some items were repetitive. In the morning, the dining area felt overcrowded considering the number of guests.
The beach across the road is wild and not very appealing. A better beach can be reached after a 10-minute walk past the rocks, but it is still a wild beach. There are no restaurants nearby, so a car is needed and walking is not recommended for people with mobility issues due to a very steep uphill road.
The only real highlights were the infinity pool and the surrounding vegetation, which look nice but do not compensate for the other downsides.
Overall, we would not stay here again. This experience taught us to rely less on social media presentation and to take negative reviews into account, even when they are fewer.DeAED 412
