If youre looking for a sleek, ultra modern 5 star resort, this may not be for you. But if you want authentic Thai hospitality, traditional Thai-inspired architecture, lush tropical surroundings, and a peaceful beachfront escape, this resort is absolutely worth it.
I stayed here as a solo traveler and had one of the most relaxing stays Ive experienced. Its also perfect for couples, honeymooners, and families.
I was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a sea-view hillside cottage even though I booked one of the more affordable room categories. The private beach was the main reason I chose this resort and it was exactly what I was looking for, quiet, uncrowded, and perfect for relaxing. I also loved the petting zoo, the beautiful pool, and the delicious food. Every staff member we encountered was warm, welcoming and genuinely helpful.
Special thanks to Ms. Chuty and Ms. Kat at the front desk for making our stay even more memorable. They assisted us during checkout, kindly reminded us about a few belongings we had accidentally left in the room without ever making us feel rushed, and even allowed us to extend our stay until 12:30 PM, which we truly appreciated. Since our flight was later in the afternoon, they also arranged lounge access so we could comfortably wait in an airconditioned area until it was time to leave. Their kindness and thoughtfulness really reflected the genuine hospitality of the resort.
I also appreciated the complimentary refreshments in the lobby, the beach bag provided for guests, the convenient buggy service, and the fact that ordering GrabFood was easy.
My only suggestion would be to upgrade the TVs to Smart TVs. Other than that, everything exceeded my expectations. This resort may not be the newest, but it’s clean, wellmaintained, peaceful, and full of character. If you appreciate nature, privacy, and heartfelt service over ultra modern luxury, you’ll absolutely love staying here.

Located near the airport, which can be seen as both a pro and a con.
The pros: you save time on travel. It's beachfront, with good sea and beach during high season. The grounds are constantly cleaned, plants are trimmed, and everything is tidied and watered. The staff are friendly and do everything to ensure your comfort. My stay was during the low season, but the staff's meticulous care for the grounds and the high level of service were evident, which was a pleasant surprise. The area is large and green.
The room is nice and spacious, with all necessities provided. There are many children's activities on site, though not all of them were operating during the low season.
Breakfasts are standard, nothing fancy.
Nearby, there are cafes, massage parlors, and small shops.
There are also cons. The direct proximity to the airport – the hotel grounds end and the airport begins. If you are sensitive to noise and seek relaxation and quiet, this is not the place for you. Planes are constantly taking off, and the noise from the jet engines is inescapable. There is a break at night and it becomes quiet, but not for long. They say you get used to it and stop noticing, but for me, 1.5 days was enough; I doubt I could stay longer.
I'm giving it good stars because the downsides are purely my personal feeling and perspective.DeR$ 164

Location is perfect if you want patong beach but not in the middle of it. It was just at the end away from the busy areas but getting on the bikes were only ever maximum 6/7mins. Very clean rooms, great for couples and girl groups who share and solo travellers. I had a wonderful stay at Graceland Resort—I can’t be any happier. I arrived pretty late at night, and all I asked for was a nice, quiet room. The front desk lady Jenny at that time of night was incredibly considerate and sweet .She upgraded me to a pool room, and I truly appreciate that.
Also, there was a lovely cleaning lady Kanyakorn who cleaned me room every day and was very attentive and pleasant , she let me borrowed the iron exceptionally longer period of time😅Overall, I felt taken care of and very welcomed. The service and hospitality were excellent.
The breakfast was okay—I’d rate it about 6.7 out of 10—but the hotel itself is beautiful. It has a couple of pools and it’s right on the beach, with many restaurants around. Hotel got a small gym as well which is good enough for few days workout and oh yes they offer complimentary half an hour morning trainings as well which was nice . I also remember a v kind gesture from them i ordered late night food and they forgot to deliver to bring and on being reminded the food and beverage manager felt terribly sorry and wanted to send free meal next day which wasn’t needed for me so I declined politely but they were so sweet they still ended up sending a fruit platter to room.In all , with such great hospitality, I would definitely come back to the hotel. I was extremely satisfied with this trip. I chose the Orchid Hotel because of its location and the big waterslide, though my expectations weren't very high initially. I'd seen some reviews mentioning the hotel being damp and moldy, but I figured that for the 300-400 baht price point, it would be acceptable. I requested a high-floor, sunny room on Trip.com. I booked two rooms, and since our flight arrived late, we didn't get to the hotel until midnight. The two rooms were in different buildings, quite far apart. At first, I wasn't happy and considered asking to switch to closer rooms the next day. However, the hotel upgraded one of my standard rooms to a pool-view room, directly facing the big waterslide. My child loved it and didn't want to move, so we just made do. I stayed on the third floor of building 1. While the room wasn't brand new, it wasn't as old or damp as some reviews suggested. When I entered, the air conditioning was on. I'm not sure if it was because I'd noted my concern about dampness causing my child to get a rash, but the hotel clearly made an effort regarding customer satisfaction. As for people saying the breakfast wasn't good or that there weren't many Chinese people, I think that's subjective. My whole family found the food quite acceptable; it was typical buffet fare. The small restaurant next door was convenient for lunch and dinner. The location was great, only a few hundred meters' walk from Karon Beach. The kids had an absolute blast on the pool slide, and my two-year-old even learned to swim in the shallow pool! A truly commendable point is that it was my eldest son's birthday on the 22nd. Without any prior notification from me, the hotel decorated our room for his birthday. We were out at sea all day, and when we returned to the room that evening, we found it meticulously cleaned. The hotel had fashioned adorable little elephants from towels, adorned with fresh flowers, and left a birthday card. Both the kids and adults were amazed! My son was overjoyed. It was his first tenth birthday, and his first time receiving birthday wishes from a hotel. I have to say, for a seaside hotel in Phuket, an old establishment like the Orchid, at such a great value, making this kind of effort – I am extremely satisfied. If you're staying in the annex building, be careful of the long, steep slope. We saw a guest's luggage slide down from there and hit someone. Please make sure to store your personal belongings safely in your room. Other than that, everything else was good, and the pool was great. The room was spacious enough too. The studio apartment is very spacious, featuring a kitchen-living room, a bedroom, a separate bathroom with a walk-in closet, and 3 air conditioners. Beach towels are provided in the room and are replaced during cleaning. There are two buildings and several pools on the property. Guests can use the shuttles from the Laguna area, and there's also a transfer service to Patong. A boat transports guests to the beach every 20 minutes from 8 AM to 12 PM and from 1 PM to 7 PM. You can also take another boat to cruise around the Laguna. On the beach, there are complimentary sun loungers and umbrellas, as well as a toilet and shower. This hotel truly lives up to its reputation among Chinese travelers. I booked a direct pool access room and, before arriving, I was worried about insects on the ground floor, even bringing insect repellent. To my surprise, I didn't see a single bug.
The bathroom was a bit dated, not as bright and new-looking as in the pictures. Breakfast was mostly Western fare. As for service, the cleaning staff on the first day were excellent, but on the second and third days, it was a different person who seemed grumpy.
The biggest downside is the poor soundproofing. Every night around 11 PM, staff would push what sounded like a cleaning cart up and down the first floor, making a huge racket.
Everything else was good; I didn't experience any discrimination, and they proactively helped with luggage. The location was also convenient.DeR$ 245

We also really enjoyed the fresh coconut juice and mango sticky rice from the small kiosk just outside the hotel. It’s very convenient, with a convenience store nearby as well perfect for quick snacks.

Pros: The service was quite enthusiastic and responsive. The rooms were spacious with 180-degree views, and the bedding was comfortable. Also, since they are all stand-alone villas with only neighbors above and below, soundproofing and privacy are better. Breakfast was decent, quite simple, with good fruit, but the juices were not freshly squeezed, which was a bit disappointing.

The hotel's water was incredibly dirty. The filter I brought, which lasted for several days in Patong, turned black in just one day here. The room was quite spacious, and the service was okay – staff were generally polite, but you often had to follow up several times to get things done. Some employees were very efficient, while others were quite impatient. The most important thing is the hotel's inconvenient location. A fabulous hotel, incredibly beautiful and atmospheric. If you want to spend your vacation like a fairy tale in a palace surrounded by greenery, this is your choice. My wife and I are absolutely delighted with this hotel. Besides the gorgeous exterior of the grounds, there's also a really great pool and excellent breakfasts. We had a room with pool access, and that was a special kind of pleasure, being able to fully relax without leaving the room 😅 In the evening, the lights come on, and the hotel becomes even more beautiful, incredibly stunning, words can't describe it. The staff are also top-notch; everyone is kind and friendly and helps with any question. In short, for me, this is the coolest and most atmospheric hotel in Phuket, if not the whole world 😅 My rating is 10 out of 10; even other 5-star hotels aren't as impressive as this one. The room pictures showed a sea view, but when I arrived, I was told it was only a partial sea view and was given a room really far from the ocean, surrounded by mountains. Every time I needed to go up or down the mountain, I had to take a taxi, which was expensive here. They have a shuttle service to go down the mountain, but you have to taxi back up yourself. The mountain is super high, and the room had bugs and ants that bit me in many places, causing an allergic reaction. Every time I rode up the mountain, I was on edge. The breakfast wasn't good either, and all the hotel service was in English. Most of the guests were white, and there was no Chinese service. I booked for two nights, and they charged me 800 yuan in taxes. The transfer service was good and polite, but the front desk service was very mediocre and seemed to cater heavily to Westerners! I didn't feel very comfortable personally (I'm sensitive to these things).DeR$ 392

I booked the rooms a long time ago, specifically selecting twin beds. However, when I finally arrived at the hotel late at night to check in, I was told that the two rooms I booked couldn't be arranged next to each other, which was already frustrating. On top of that, there were no twin rooms available at all. They could only arrange a room change the next afternoon at a specific time. There was no prior email notification, which is the least they could do when unable to provide the requested service. Our stay at the Kata Thani Bhuri Wing's family room was an absolute delightful surprise for our family trip to Phuket – the experience was simply outstanding!
As soon as we entered, our child was captivated by the room. The bunk beds, designed like a submarine, were incredibly playful, and the entire wall featured an ocean-themed 3D decoration with dynamic blue lighting, making it feel like stepping into an underwater world. Our child immediately claimed it as their secret hideout, spending the whole day playing in their little space. The room layout perfectly understood the needs of families with children; the kids' play area and the adult bedroom were separated by a soft partition. This allowed us to relax and watch shows in the master bedroom while our child played independently, ensuring privacy yet still being able to keep an eye on them. The space was bright and never felt cramped.
The most amazing feature was the direct pool access from the balcony! In the evening, we'd put on our swimsuits and step right into the crystal-clear pool from our balcony. The row of macaron-colored resort buildings, outlined by warm lights, and palm tree shadows dancing on the shimmering water, created a truly relaxing atmosphere with the island breeze – even the breeze exuded a sense of laid-back vacation. The bathroom facilities were also thoughtfully designed. The large, standalone bathtub was perfect for soaking away the day's fatigue from looking after the child, and the wet and dry areas were clean and well-separated. All the facilities were new, without any of the wear and tear you'd expect from an older hotel.
The hotel's public pool area was incredibly family-friendly, with clearly defined shallow and deep sections, and plenty of lounge chairs and shaded spots everywhere, so we could rest whenever we got tired from playing. The staff would proactively greet the children and offer small cups of iced water, providing thoughtful yet discreet service throughout our stay. This was the first time I felt no fatigue whatsoever during a family trip with my child; it was truly a 'lie flat' parenting experience. We will definitely come back to this family-friendly hotel on our next trip to Phuket, and I highly recommend it to all families vacationing with children!DeR$ 694

I regret not staying an extra night! We first stayed 3 nights near Kata, then two nights at Pullman, which wasn't enough. There was too little time to just relax, and with so many fun places in Phuket, it was hard to stay put. The hotel breakfast was amazing – we'd sit from 8 AM till 11 AM, and the view was absolutely stunning. The beach was uncrowded, perfect for lounging. It's also super close to the airport, only about a 10-15 minute drive, and the hotel's shuttle service was quick and commendable. What's also worth mentioning is that the hotel is right next to the Thai Elephant Home, so we didn't have to join a tour and waste time with detours or picking up other guests – we were the last stop, haha! Pros: All the staff were wonderful, plentiful, and always greeted us with a smile. When I checked out at 6 AM, they had a packed breakfast and a cute little elephant ready for me. The five pools are great, especially the 4.5m deep diving pool where both adults and kids can enjoy diving. The hotel is quiet and private with no unwanted disturbances. It's also very close to Nai Harn Beach.
Cons: The room was a bit damp; even with the air conditioning on 24/7, the bed still felt damp. The bedding was quite simple. I had requested a king-size bed but still received a twin bed pushed together. The pools close at 7 PM. The up-and-down terrain offers a bit of exploration fun, but it's mostly tiring, especially when you forget something and have to go back to your room. There's ongoing construction nearby, and the closest convenience store and restaurant are a 500m walk away.DeR$ 320

For the latter half of our trip to Phuket, we switched to the Marina Phuket Resort, nestled between Kata and Karon beaches.
Firstly, this hotel boasts a traditional Thai style, built on a hillside with a rich tropical rainforest vibe. Strolling through the grounds feels like being immersed in a romantic jungle. The architecture is distinctly Thai, and the landscaping offers beautiful scenery at every turn. What truly stands out is that the rear of the hotel connects directly to Karon Beach. Come sunset, gazing out at the horizon, the crimson twilight merges with the sea, waves caress the golden sand, and the dark cliff rocks add to a stunning, unparalleled view. You can walk along the soft, fine sand or enjoy playing in the water – it's perfect. Next door, there's a restaurant that hosts fireworks and fire-breathing shows in the evenings, so if your timing is right, you can enjoy them for free.
Secondly, the hotel's service is generally attentive and gentle, very much in the Thai style – perfect for a relaxed, slow-paced vacation. Guests receive complimentary dinner daily at the Red Chopsticks restaurant right outside, offering a fusion of cuisines that's pretty decent. Breakfast is served by the pool, though the selection isn't extensive.
Finally, I personally feel this hotel is better suited for older families or couples seeking a quiet retreat. For families with young children, there aren't many play areas, and due to its hillside location, it might be inconvenient for the elderly to move around.DeR$ 846

1. The steep slope mentioned in reviews was certainly noticeable on our first day, but we got used to it by the second time.
2. This hotel is super close to Kata Beach! It was awesome to go surfing in the evenings.
3. Breakfast was decent; it was better when the noodle soup was available. I recommend going early. On my first day, I went at 10:30 AM and there was no noodle soup, but on the second day, I went at 9 AM and they had it.
4. Overall, it's very quiet, perfect for couples or those who prefer a peaceful atmosphere.

The hotel is a bit dated. Although the common areas use central air conditioning, our smaller room had an individual AC unit. It was incredibly noisy, making it hard to sleep, and definitely needs replacing.
Breakfast was decent, and the hotel's overall environment was okay. However, try to avoid the side near the corridor, as there's an unfinished building that looks quite eerie.
There are two Thai restaurants within a 5-minute walk of the hotel entrance, one to the left and one to the right. The one on the left is better and accepts WeChat Pay, though it charges a 3% service fee.
We chose this hotel mainly for its proximity to the airport, as we had a Similan Islands day trip scheduled for the next day. Staying here allowed us to wake up at least an hour later than if we had stayed at beaches like Patong.

A walk across the street to the best beach near Phuket Town makes this resort prime property. Ao Yon beach, while small, does not draw the big crowds like Nai Harn, Karon, Kata, or Patong. Also safer for swimming. Great breakfast venue called The Cove with front row seat by the beach just a 2 minute walk.
The resort swimming pool is long, narrow, squiggly, and attractive, but has kayak boats popular for guest use, which can make swimming laps impractical unless using the pool at off hours. The rooftop has a smaller pool + bar.
The room is on the small side, the mattress a little too soft for me, and the shower temperature control is erratic. Still, room has all the amenities one should need.
There is a sauna room, one for men one for women. I needed help to open the sticky sauna door, asked reception twice, nobody helped. Finally a staff person passing by assisted.
Elderlies may be put off by the younger demographic the resort attracts and the occasional party-like noise. Luckily my room was on top floor end of the building. Overall well worth a stayDeR$ 372
