“I recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a very pleasant experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff were welcoming, professional, and always ready to assist with any requests. Check-in was smooth and efficient, which made a great first impression after a long journey.
The room itself was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The bed was especially cozy, allowing for a good night’s sleep, and the amenities provided were more than adequate for a relaxing stay. I also appreciated the little details, such as complimentary toiletries and the overall quiet atmosphere, which made it easy to unwind.
The hotel’s location is definitely one of its strong points. It was conveniently situated near key attractions, restaurants, and public transport, making it easy to get around without much hassle. This added a lot of value to my stay.
That said, there are a few areas where improvement could be made. Some parts of the room felt slightly dated, and occasional delays in service were noticeable during peak hours. However, these were relatively minor issues and did not significantly affect the overall experience.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel to travelers looking for comfort, convenience, and friendly service. With a few small improvements, it has the potential to be an even better place to stay. I would certainly consider returning in the future.”
The location is fantastic, right by two large shopping malls, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient—just a three to four-minute walk away. While you'll need a taxi to get to the old town attractions, it means the area is much quieter.
There's a Hua Yang restaurant right under the nearby Gurney Plaza, and the wait times are much shorter than in Kuala Lumpur, so I finally got to eat there!
The facilities are a bit lacking and can't compare to five-star hotels in China.
However, the service is excellent, and they even offer a shuttle bus.
Breakfast was a bit disappointing; they start clearing up right on time, and the variety isn't huge.
Overall, the service was very good and proactive.
A geladeira é bem gelada e o ar-condicionado funciona bem.
this is my second stay here..will always be my frst choice if i’m in penang..love the hospitality, cleanliness and the strategic place…easy access to the beach and many choices of food nearby..
If you want to enjoy the beautiful beach, facilities and hospitality of a 5 star hotel you get the right choice of Hard Rock Hotel Penang. The hotel is far away from downtown where the attractions and fantastic street food are located.
The room is comfortable and I got a free upgrade to a sea view room. My partner slept well but not me because the pillow of mine is lumpy, felt like it had clumps of filling.
Overall I am satisfied with my stay in Hard Rock and had some good times.
Eu gosto realmente do exterior e do café Biru Biru
First time going to Penang, loved the location of the hotel. Amazing view of the beach from our room, and saw fireworks one night was a treat. They keep the beach clean for the property, each day saw it being cleared. The pool is a good refreshing temperature. Majority of the time isn't overly busy. Good depth and size of pool. I enjoyed swimming laps each day and relaxing on the sunloungers. Kept clean, fresh towels available. Good pool toys for the kids. The gym was amazing, good equipment and machines- beautiful view of the ocean. I would prefer the air con colder as the one in there didnt cool the room down enough and if wasn't standing near it, it got very hot. The water provided in there also isn't cold which i didnt like ( is in a machine that says keeping warm, which i dont understand shouldn't drink warm water when working out, don't know if it's a culture thing? Wasn't to my liking anyway)
The room is spacious, bathroom bit tight but made do. Nice amenities topped up daily. Bed comfortable. Air con in room works amazing. Cleanliness in room noticed could've been better as after room being 'cleaned' noticed my hair still on floor and sand in corner from shoes. So seems the floor doesn't get swept or mopped as much as we thought.
Buffet breakfast was great, yummy food and lots of everything. Plenty of staff i just think they need to be more attentive and watch the buffet e.g kids touching food ( saw few things) and make sure the food is safe for other guests to eat.
We ate at the hotel lunch and dinner also, the staff mean well but there is a language barrier and was few instances where our meals didn't come out correct like we got a tomato soup when we pointed and said on the menu tomato pasta. We are patient enjoyed the food and kept going back despite the mistakes. We understand a second language can be difficult.
Amazing fresh cakes in fridge we just about tried them all.
The staff also did a lovely birthday song and candles on cake my husband brought.
Overall had a lovely time.
Great hospitality and service throughout my stay in Penang Amari Spice Hotel. Upon arrival, the reception team kindly upgraded me to a Premier King room without any request, which was a wonderful surprise. The room was spacious, clean, well-maintained, and had a pleasant scent—everything was excellent.
I would like to express my utmost appreciation to the midnight team on 21/03/2026. During our stay, my friend suddenly fell seriously ill during midnight . We attempted to call emergency services (999), but unfortunately were unable to get through to the nearby general hospital immediately. The situation was critical, and waiting another 10–20 minutes could have put my friend’s life at risk.
Thankfully, the Penang Amari hotel team acted swiftly and professionally. They followed up with us, and the female manager along with the guy management team arrived promptly to assess the situation. They provided immediate support and helped arrange transportation to the nearest hospital, ensuring we arrived within 10 minutes.
Thanks to their quick response and care, my friend’s life was saved. And even after check out they still texting us to concern on the guest safety. We are deeply grateful for their kindness, efficiency, and dedication during such a critical moment.
Wishing the entire team continued success and all the very best. Thank you once again for going above and beyond. Peharps this able to fully credit to the team.

GGuest UserTHE MOST AMAZING HOTE I HAVE EVER STAYED IN 10/10
1. Hotel Locaiton: Perfect as its not in the city and by the beach, amazing for relaxation. Hotel is surrounded by souvenir shops and street food. 10miute walk from Ferringhi Walk where there is a nice selection of street food but my favourite of all is that its just a 2 minute walk from my favorite restaurant in Malaysia, Ferringhi Garden. Penang trip isnt complete without going to Ferringhi Garden. Its an amazing restaurant with the most beautiful collection of plants, there is no other place like it in Malaysia.
2. The Hotel: Nothing bad to say about it. The design, the decor, everything about this hotel makes me want to stay there even longer. Its such a nice feeling being there. Facilities are clean and complete.
3. The Room: CLEAN. NICE. SPACIOUS. BEAUTIFUL. Every inch of the room is to my liking, i could not have asked for more. Mattress is thick and oh so comfortable. Aircond was cold. Room was very spacious.
4.The Buffet: The room came with breakfast for 2 and it was the perfect buffet to start each day with. Selection was incredible even better than a lot of buffet Ramadan Ive been to. They had everything from selections of breads, to nasi lemak with 12 different sambals, 5 different meat dishes to eat it with, assorted fruits, assorted cheeses, 2 types of porridge with the FULL suites of condiments, salads, pastries, roti canai with all the curries you will ever need, to your above average selection of continental breakfast menus like, beef bacon, beef and chicken sausages, hash browns, deli meats, smoked fish. And there is more! there is a made-to-order menu which many patrons are not aware of. I tried the minute steak and it was good!(pictured below)
PS: Hakimi from breakfast service was spectacular, I requested strawberries for my picky 2 year old and he delivered. On the other hand, ANIS FROM THE OMELETTE STATION WAS RUDE TO MY WIFE, SHE NEEDS TO IMPROVE HER SOCIAL SKILLS(this is my one and only complain)
Overall my stay was 10/10 and this will be the ONLY hotel i will be staying at if when im at Batu Ferringhi. I plan to go to Park Royal Batu Ferringhi Annually, its just that good!
MMaira176First of all, thanks to the receptionist, concierge, and housekeepers for attending to me during check-in also related staff for being polite. However, I would like to highlight an issue regarding whether it was Trip.com or Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts management that listed rooms not actually available to customers, despite costing thousands and above for one night. Because of this, I had to go back and forth changing rooms.
Additionally, the room itself was different from what was shown; it only had a jacuzzi and a fairly good seaview. Luckily, I only booked one night to see how it was, since the ratings were high. If not for the staff treating me well, I might have given a lower rating than this.
Please ensure that the rooms you advertise are accurate, especially since there is no refund and full payment is required. For improvement, please also address the issue of flies and insects while dining at the restaurants and bar. A five-star resort should be better than any stall.
AAnonymous UserOverall, we had a great stay at the hotel. The location was convenient and easy to find. One of the highlights was the variety of water slides and activities for kids, making it a great choice for families. We also loved the direct beach access from the hotel, which meant we didn't have to leave the property to enjoy the beach.
The breakfast was excellent, with a wide selection of food and plenty of options to choose from each morning.
The only downside was the luggage service. It took about 45 minutes for our luggage to be delivered to the room, and that was after I had called to follow up as it had not arrived yet. However, this was likely due to the large number of guests checking in at the same time, as we visited during the holiday season.
Despite this minor inconvenience, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would consider returning in the future.
GGuest UserThe room was quite satisfying. The family suite consisted of two rooms, both offering great views and large windows. The rooms were also very tidy.
The hotel's breakfast was rich and varied, and the staff were all very friendly, proactively smiling and greeting guests. A particular highlight was the swimming pool's proximity to the beach, which, despite the sand not being super fine, was very convenient in terms of location.
The only minor drawbacks were some details that could be improved in this older hotel, such as replacing the towels with fluffier ones, and providing a check-in guide that clearly marks nearby supermarkets, shops, and attractions.
RRG MikeThis was my first time staying at this hotel, and I chose a Premium King Room with a sea view and balcony. Overall, the room was perfect and I had nothing to complain about. The amenities were complete and well provided.
That night, we had dinner at Seafood Surfers. The prices were reasonable, and there was a wide variety of seafood choices. I especially loved the oysters, which were available as well. The breakfast buffet was great too.
In the evening, I wanted to visit the spa centre, but the prices were a little too expensive.
Parking was free, and the hotel is close to the beach. Guests can simply use their room card to access the connecting overpass bridge, which leads directly to the seaside across the street.
I would definitely return to this hotel again. The staff were also very helpful and friendly. Overall, there was really nothing much to complain about.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel's location is excellent. There's a mall right downstairs, making shopping and dining super convenient. It's also close to other tourist attractions, and getting a taxi is quick and easy! We even ran into Chinese celebrity Huang Xiaoming and others promoting a movie at Gurney Plaza during our stay.
HHeihemaThe hotel is right by the sea, with the beach just beyond the lawn and outdoor pool. The staff provided excellent service, and check-in was very quick. I loved the lawn and big trees outside my window, especially when they were lit up at night – it looked beautiful. You can watch the sunset directly from your room or balcony, though many people go down to the beach to see it up close by the water. A short walk from there is the beach fire show. Turn right outside the hotel's main entrance, and you'll find a bustling night market in the evenings, with lots of traffic and activity. During the day, it's much quieter. It feels like a small town here, with many houses and even an amusement park, plus a surprisingly large Starbucks. As a Marriott resort, the hotel's facilities and services are top-notch. I especially have to mention the live cooking station at breakfast; both the freshly cooked noodles and vermicelli were delicious, but you absolutely cannot miss the soup – it was amazing! 👍
GGuest UserHighly recommended for families with young children! The room isn't huge, but it's well-designed, with comfortable lighting and a clean, odor-free environment. The shower has great water pressure and gets nice and hot. There are plenty of kids' facilities, and the pool is excellent, with super responsible lifeguards – parents of older kids can really relax there. There's also a kids' club for children under 12. They have a private beach, though the sea in Penang isn't particularly blue and has jellyfish, so swimming isn't an option. Part of the hotel is under renovation, but my room felt very new, likely recently refurbished. There's a Hard Rock Cafe on the ground floor with a live band every night at 8:45 PM, creating a great atmosphere. This is a family-friendly hotel with excellent value for money.
GGuest UserWe arrived at about 11am and managed to check in immediately which was a pleasant surprise! The room was really spacious and we loved that there is a filtered water tap within the room so we could refill our bottles easily and save money on buying bottled water.
The only bummer was that on our second day, there was a power shutdown from 10am to 2:30pm (which they informed us beforehand), but at the same time, the lifts were having maintenance (not informed on this) and we were stuck at our level (20 floors up) for about 20 to 30 mins. We were not able to take the stairs down as well which was abit frustrating as we were running late. So they could have better planned or better coordinated the schedules for the maintenance work.
But other than that, the rooms were really clean and the pool and gym were nice as well. The breakfast didn’t have many selection but it was decent. We loved that the hotel was just opposite the esplanade park too! Will stay here again!
