The location was ideal, short walk to pedestrian street, buses, and the ferry terminal.
We had issues with the wifi due to being foreigners but the reception desk accommodated us and helped up navigate this.
The free drinking water refil was convenient.
Tho the rooms and corridors were not very clean, and could do with a deep clean more often.

My room offered views of both the sea and the bustling pedestrian street nearby. The location is superb, with excellent transport links. Zhenhai Road Metro Station is right outside, and a bus stop is just out the side door, making it super convenient to get to Xiamen University and other attractions. If traffic is bad, you can even walk to Nanputuo Temple. Plus, Zhonghua City shopping mall is right next door, offering plenty of shopping and dining options. The only minor downside is that the hotel's decor feels a bit outdated.

Iivy_5471Every year when I come to Xiamen, I stay at the Swiss Grand for a few days, and this is my fourth time. What attracts me most to the Swiss Grand is its excellent location and rooms directly facing Gulangyu Island. I have to say, the Swiss Grand meets all my needs for a trip to Xiamen.
First, let's talk about the location. It's situated in the heart of Siming District, right next to Zhongshan Road. You can walk to Bashi Market, the Botanical Garden, and Xiamen Ferry Terminal. Taking a taxi to Nanputuo Temple, Shapowei, the Twin Towers, and Xiamen University is always just the starting fare. The Exit to the hotel is also the starting station of Metro Line 1, which goes directly to Gaoqi Airport.
Then there's the room facing Gulangyu Island – it's absolutely unbeatable! It completely matches my aesthetic. Whenever I sit by the floor-to-ceiling window in my room, enjoying the beautiful Gulangyu Island opposite, with a cup of black tea, I feel utterly content. What's even more impressive is that the room is very spacious, well-equipped, and the quality is consistently high. It offers excellent value for money!
The breakfast is very rich, with a wide variety of Western and Chinese options, plus local specialties – you name it, they have it, and it all tastes great. The service is excellent; the greeters at the entrance are very attentive. The front desk was a bit ordinary, but customer service responded promptly and was always helpful.
The only slight drawback was the slow check-in process. This might be due to the hotel being fully booked during the Chinese New Year holiday, but it also reflects that the hotel doesn't have good solutions for handling such surges in guests. We waited over an hour to check in, and at that time, one guest had waited three hours and still hadn't gotten into their room, and ended up arguing with the front desk... This had a very negative impact on the hotel's image. I hope they can further improve their management during holidays!

2203803****The Bayview B&B was definitely the highlight of this trip. The warm welcome from the front desk staff and the owner made me feel right at home, completely erasing any sense of unfamiliarity. The room was even more spacious than it appeared in the photos, with excellent natural light. The balcony view was an added bonus; sitting there in the evening, enjoying the breeze, was incredibly relaxing. Breakfast was a delightful surprise – fresh ingredients and beautifully presented, really showing the owner's thoughtfulness. It's incredibly good value for money, and I genuinely recommend it to everyone! A special shout-out to the kind and attentive housekeeper, who provided such thoughtful service that it almost made me feel bad. Unforgettable! I'll definitely be back next year.

DdreamI chose the InterContinental for my business trip to Xiamen. This hotel is ideally located near the sea, and the 12th-floor sea-view room offered an amazing, unobstructed panoramic view. The room facilities were complete and well-maintained, and the lovely housekeeper even helped me organize and fold my clothes.
The hotel breakfast had a great variety, and the seafood buffet dinner also featured a mini hot pot, which was fantastic.
Also, the hotel service was very attentive. I added the WeChat concierge, Rosi, who provided warm and thoughtful service. Many thanks!

AAnonymous UserThe experience at the Xiamen Portman Seven Star Bay Hotel far exceeded my expectations. The hotel itself resembles a castle and even has its own 'Portman Town' connected by an electric shuttle, though it's only a 5-minute walk. Strolling through it felt like being in the world of Harry Potter, perfect for photos. We visited when it was decorated with a snowy theme, adding an extra touch of romance. Inside the hotel, you can even take pictures with 'walking' lions and leopards, which was a lot of fun.
The breakfast was incredibly rich, featuring a wide array of Chinese and Western dishes, hot and cold drinks, and thoughtfully included local Xiamen delicacies like satay noodles and oyster vermicelli soup. The dining environment was also very elegant. Our room was decorated in a vintage French style, spacious with an expansive view of the beautiful sea.
The hotel facilities were comprehensive and the entire place was clean and well-maintained. There's a gym, a swimming pool, a rock climbing area, and a children's water park. The hotel itself is an excellent vacation destination; with its French garden-like setting and various unique buildings, you could easily spend a day or two without even leaving. The complimentary travel photography service was also a thoughtful touch. Right outside, you'll find a seaside promenade with large lawns and coconut groves, and in the evening, you can enjoy music and fireworks at the beachside bar. The nearby Sunshine Town food street offers delicious local cuisine, with the pan-fried red paste crab being particularly tasty.
In summary, this is an excellent choice for a leisurely getaway. If you visit outside of peak holiday seasons, the value for money is outstanding. Highly recommended!

My relatives and I came to Xiamen, and they highly recommended this hotel as they had stayed here before. Indeed, the service attitude was excellent, living up to its five-star standard. The hotel food was delicious, and there's a supermarket downstairs with affordable food and drinks, which is very convenient. The only downside is that sometimes it's hard to get a taxi, which can be frustrating! Plus, there's a large, lovely park right next to it.

GGuest UserI was looking for non smoking hotel and found Wyndham Grand Haicang as it was close to my friend's house. It turned out to be a great stay for our family when we were in Xiamen. I booked 2 family suites for 5 days due to the size of the room to accommodate the number of people we have. The service was top notch. I informed the hotel reception that we are vegetarians and we were well looked after by Helen every morning when we went for breakfast. I'd also like to mention that the cleaners are also very proactive in providing what we need. On the second day of our arrival, we found a cloth airer and extra hangers on the balcony. Our water has also been top up from 4 to 8 bottles. She also left a note mentioning that if we need anything else, do inform her by leaving a note. At the lobby, Andy Yang is always there to give suggestions on where to go and even show us the way to take ferry to Gulangyu island. The hotel is just a few minutes' walk away. All of these little good gestures has made our family of 9 a very pleasant stay in Xiamen. Overall, all their staffs are very friendly, smiley and approachable. The view from our rooms is great! Thank you so much to Wyndham Grand Haicang for their excellent service and for being a non smoking hotel.

KKuailedechihuo～Our king-size room had windows on both sides, which was great for ventilation and offered a glimpse of the sea and Gulangyu Island. The location is excellent, right near Heping Wharf, close to Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street and Bashi Market, and only about 200-300 meters from the subway station, making it very convenient for getting around. The gym was under renovation and unavailable. The breakfast selection was decent, featuring local specialties like Shacha noodles, Mianxian paste, and peanut soup. However, some dishes were a bit greasy, and there weren't many steamed options. The milk and soy milk were instant powder mixes, but everything else was fine.

Rrose_huI booked this hotel last minute because I wanted to go sailing from Wuyuan Bay, and it turned out to be surprisingly good! Upon check-in, I was upgraded to a sea-view room. The bathtub was huge, and I could enjoy the sea view from both the bathroom and the room. The breakfast was also very generous, offering specialty snacks from Xiamen like tofu pudding, satay noodles, flour paste, and peanut soup – the satay noodles were particularly delicious. There were also many value-added services. You could borrow sand-digging tools and a three-person pedal boat (reservation required) from the first floor. The front desk could also arrange a free electric shuttle to the Wuyuan Bay sailing base, with incredible scenery along the way. Guests can also enjoy the 'Naughty Castle' (a play area) inside the hotel. Just a short walk from the hotel is the beach; cross the villa area and turn right, and you'll be on the sand. Both the day and night views from the seaside boardwalk are stunning! The hotel's service quality is, as expected from Wyndham, excellent – they promptly meet guests' needs and are always ready to help. I'll definitely stay here again next time!
