"O quarto era limpo e higiênico, com um ambiente agradável, perfeito para sessões de fotos. Como fica dentro da cidade antiga, você precisa pegar o carro elétrico da cidade antiga para se locomover (a pousada providenciou isso). Talvez devido ao horário de pico da manhã, quando fizemos o check-out às 8h45, esperamos por mais de meia hora desde o momento em que chegamos à recepção até o momento em que finalmente entramos no carro. Isso precisa ser melhorado. O café da manhã não era particularmente farto. Como começa a servir às 6h30, os pratos já estavam frios quando chegamos por volta das 7h. Não conseguimos vê-los sendo aquecidos, o que também precisa ser melhorado. Afinal, o tempo está ficando mais frio, então ter refeições mais quentes pela manhã seria uma experiência melhor para os hóspedes!"

Kempinski Hotel Taiyuan is located in the south commercial center of Taiyuan, many of the city's best shopping centers are all within walking distance, also with easy access to the Shanxi International Expo Center and Shanxi Sports Center, 7 km to the South Railway Station and 12 km to Wusu International Airport.
"Unfortunately, the overall stay was not great. When we booked the hotel, we specifically requested a non-smoking room, which is essential for us because of health issues. After double confirming with the hotel that they have non-smoking rooms (based on the website, all rooms are non smoking), we paid for our booking. However, shortly after, they informed us that smoking in hotel rooms is common and unavoidable in Taiyuan. We felt deceived into making the payment and realized we were stuck with this accommodation for our 7-day stay. Upon checking in, we had to request a room change due to a strong smoke smell in the original room. The second room was better and the hotel staff was nice enough to provide an air purifier. Throughout our entire stay, people were smoking in the elevator, lobby, and even at the dinner table. If we had known this beforehand, we would have reconsidered staying here. For a 5-star hotel, it did not meet our expectations, and unfortunately, we paid far too much for this experience. The only highlight of our stay was the hotel staff. They were always friendly, helpful, and did their very best to serve the guests, which made our trip a bit more enjoyable. We thank them for their excellent service."

"This hotel is amazing! Always so happy to come back to this beautiful space at the end of the day. Datong ancient town is not big and is easy to get around from Onetwo Hotel. Front desk is always so helpful to offer us assistance and check in with us on our needs. Not forgetting, their breakfast is an absolute winner! (If i have to nitpick, i would have preferred if we had fresh towel instead of one-use towels.) Nonetheless, would recommend this place to anyone coming to Datong. 👍👍👍"

Dentro uma surpresa mais agradável ainda os quartos são amplos e modernos, bem equipados, camas enormes e confortáveis, aquecimento eficiente, chão aquecido ( temperaturas estava negativas durante minha hospedagem). Oferecem um eficiente serviço de transfer ida e volta da estação de trem, o que torna tudo confortável. Chá da tarde servido no quarto. Os atendentes não falam inglês fluente porém estão sempre com o tradutor e a comunicação funciona perfeitamente. Enfim nota 10 de 10. Além disso, a cidade é maravilhosa recomendo muito Ping Yao e ficar nesse hotel com certeza."

Great place to feel at home in a very nice area of the old city. Big and pretty room, comfortable and cozy. And last, for me, the very best at this place is the welcoming and very helpful staff. I have been here already 2 times and I will come back for sure when more friends come to China and want to visit the amazing caves and the great atmosphere of the old town. A wonderful inn nestled in a tranquil location amidst the bustle of the city. From the initial pick-up and parking arrangements to the final departure, there was not a single unpleasant experience; they were incredibly attentive, helpful, and meticulous. The inn is elegant, clean, and tidy. The staff are friendly, patient, and responsive. The aroma of freshly baked bread fills the air daily, and the Chinese and Western breakfasts are cooked to order. While the variety isn't extensive, every bite is satisfying, especially the bowl of beef noodles, which is incredibly good! The room's simple and elegant decor perfectly reflects the ancient city's style. No matter how exhausted you are from exploring, returning to the courtyard provides a truly relaxing and tranquil experience. Overall, it was a truly wonderful two-day stay. I'd especially like to thank Ms. Dong Yanxia (I think that's her name) for her patient, meticulous, and attentive service, which has left me and my family with wonderful memories of this holiday!

The doorman at the entrance was also very welcoming, immediately offering to help with luggage upon arrival. Their detailed and genuine service made us feel warm and welcomed from the moment we stepped in. 2. **Outstanding Room Amenities:** The hotel's facilities are very new, and the room was spotlessly clean and odor-free. The bedding was soft and skin-friendly, allowing for immediate relaxation and a peaceful night's sleep. We were also delighted to receive fresh welcome fruit upon check-in, a lovely touch that highlights their attention to detail. 3. **Overall Summary:** From the doorman to the Executive Lounge and the room amenities, the service in every aspect was top-notch. This hotel was the best one we stayed at during our trip to China (Taiyuan/Xi'an/Beijing), even though the hotels in the other two cities were also very good and unique. The hotel is designed in the style of a traditional Shanxi compound, which is incredibly distinctive. It features multiple courtyards, each with its own unique ambiance, making it perfect for photos. The hotel offers a free 'young lady' (少奶奶) / Hanfu dress-up experience. We didn't pay for additional makeup and styling, but still took many great photos around the hotel ourselves. The hotel's location is also superb. It's just a 2-minute walk to Food Street and Liuxiang Pedestrian Street, a paradise for foodies and shoppers. The former Governor's Mansion and Jinshang Museum are also within walking distance. Despite being so close to the hustle and bustle, the hotel itself is situated on a quiet alley, completely undisturbed by the outside noise. The breakfast offered by the hotel was something we looked forward to every morning, eager to go and eat. It was a thoughtfully prepared, nutritious breakfast, very rich, and excellent in color, aroma, and taste. Enjoying complimentary afternoon tea in the courtyard; free self-service laundry... the hotel truly offers a comprehensive range of services. Most notably, their service stands out – every staff member is friendly and dedicated. Next time I visit Taiyuan, I will definitely stay there again.

I've been to Datong twice, and this time I stayed in a guesthouse in the ancient city, which was a truly different experience. First off, the service was impeccable, far superior to any star-rated hotel. From booking to check-in and check-out, the staff's service-oriented mindset was excellent and incredibly thoughtful. Next, the decor: it's anything but the cookie-cutter style you find in hotels. From the lobby to the rooms, everything is unique and distinctive, I'd say it's an Italian style. The bedding and amenities in the room are all branded, and there's plenty of hot water. Breakfast is a nine-grid affair, and the sliced noodles were delicious. The coffee at the front desk was also good. They even offer free try-ons for travel photography outfits. Overall, the experience was fantastic and really changed my perception of guesthouses. I'll definitely come back to experience it again if I get the chance!

A Sanctuary When I Needed It Most I arrived in Taiyuan not feeling well and ended up staying seven nights without ever leaving the room. Labor Day holiday, full DND stretches, just me and delivery apps. And honestly? It was exactly what I needed, and this hotel made it possible. Let me start with the moment that defined this stay. My housekeeper came in most days to refresh the room, and each time I'd ask for the same drinks. After a few days he just knew -- knew what I wanted, knew I wasn't feeling well. He'd heard me coughing while he cleaned and was clearly paying attention. On my last day, when I had DND up and didn't want any service at all, he quietly left a bag of my favorite drinks outside the door anyway. No knock, no disruption. Just a person who had been paying attention all week and wanted to take care of me. That kind of warmth doesn't come from a training manual. I won't forget it. The room itself held up beautifully for a long stationary stay. Clean, accurate to the photos, well-appointed. Floor-to-ceiling windows, two bathrooms, excellent shower pressure, generous storage, a proper tea set, and a beverage bar housekeeping kept replenished without being asked. The slippers were genuinely excellent -- better than some five-star properties I've stayed at. For seven nights of recovery during a national holiday, this hotel and its people delivered everything that mattered.

Experience the grandeur of a traditional Shanxi merchant's mansion without even leaving the premises! The staff are incredibly attentive and the attention to detail is superb. The breakfast spread is fantastic! This is truly the perfect way to do a family trip. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking to experience ancient charm. You can't go wrong, book it! The hotel's travel photography and makeup services are also top-notch. All in all, a truly worthwhile stay!

The hotel has very spacious and comfortable rooms. The breakfast is only Chinese, but rich and plentiful. We can't comment on the location because we always took taxis to the attractions around Datong (the wooden pagoda, hanging monasteries, and the Yungang Grottoes), but right next to the hotel are plenty of restaurants and places to grab a quick bite. The staff seemed helpful, but no one spoke English, so we had to use a translation app, which wasn't always accurate, and communication was somewhat hampered.

The location is absolutely fantastic, right in the heart of the ancient city. For dining: Xi Jin Dao is downstairs, Fenglin Pavilion is a 10-minute walk, and Long Juxiang offers delivery directly to your phone. Every time we took a taxi back to the inn, we'd get off at Huayan Hotel and walk two minutes. The popular Heshengcai is a 10-minute walk (though the taste was just so-so, and none of the pastries even had an ingredient list). For sights: Huayan Temple is a 5-minute walk. I visited Shanhua Temple at night, which was about a 15-minute walk. During the May Day holiday, there were only about 10 people in the entire temple at night, so we could enjoy a peaceful visit. On the way back and forth, we also saw the city wall's light show and passed through a lantern festival. Rumeng Datong (Dreams of Datong) was also within walking distance. Service was great too. On our last day, we had to leave for the train station at 7:30 AM, and the owner even packed breakfast for us. The lamb offal soup with vermicelli every morning was delicious. The furniture is all elm wood. The loft family room was perfect for our family of three. The only downsides were that the room rate was expensive during May Day, and the bathroom design was a bit impractical.
