"Overall service was excellent especially Mr Aviet, duty manager. I highlighted to him that there was no view at all in my room; the mirror was stained and the tap water splashing when turned on. He immediately came to my room and gave options for a change. He swapped my room on the same floor with a nice view on the second day for the rest of my stay. The breakfast every morning was a good spread and the staff team worked well in harmony. Overall, good experience with excellent both front desk and F&B. We"

"Away from the hustle and bustle of yogya. Being in the city can be overwhelming, hence this location is just right, surrounded by nature - birds, clouds and an amazing view. The location is super interesting because the car has to go through so many winds through the village. If U take a morning jeep tour, the jeep will fetch U from the villa with the car top exposed and you can feel the wind in your hair, absorbing the peace from th village and fresh air. They also have a massage, quite expensive but worth it at 450,000 idr per hour. The geckos can be loud at night but that's nature. They have an amazing pool that oversees borobodur and Yogyakarta. The villa door has some ants but I think it's because of the wood? The junior room suite villa roof feels a bit hollow because we can hear the birds jumping and squawking on top of it in the early evening. Food is not fantastic, especially their breakfast. But since they locally produce long beans, try their long beans. It's crunchy and fresh. Their grilled ayam chicken rice is good too. Their sambal, however, is a must try. Fresh, spicy, tangy! At night, you can hear adzan, which is call for prayer, across the whole of Yogyakarta. An amazing and holy experience."

"I recently had a delightful stay at Hotel Tentrem in Semarang, and I can't recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome, and their attentiveness truly enhanced our experience. The cleanliness of the rooms and restrooms was impressive, which is always a top priority for me when traveling. The hotel amenities, including the gym, were excellent and provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay. One of the highlights for me was the delicious breakfast spread. The variety was fantastic, and the quality of the food was outstanding. I also want to give a special shoutout to Ibuk Elfi for her warm hospitality during breakfast. Her cheerful demeanor made our mornings even more enjoyable. As a coffee lover, I was particularly impressed by the skills of Mas Arafi, the barista. Value for money. The front desk staff are efficient and responsive. They responded immediately when we requested for a room change because the room allocated to us initially was just next to the lift. We were given another room at the far most end which was quiet enough for a good night's sleep. The beds are slightly smaller than the other hotel beds which we have been to. And just like some other hotels in Java, we need to request for a hairdryer from the front desk. The breakfast food choices were excellent and we enjoyed the different local Javanese food for two mornings. The hotel's spa-massage service was also good and you'll need to book early for the session. Thank you.

Breakfast is another highlight—genuinely exceptional. The quality, variety, and presentation go beyond what you would typically expect at this level, turning what is often a routine meal into something to look forward to each morning. In terms of atmosphere, this hotel actually met our expectations quite well, especially as we prefer a place that is not too crowded, with a natural tropical landscape and an ethnic-rustic architectural style. The room size was also quite spacious, noticeably larger than a typical hotel room. Another plus point was the Smart TV, which made the children happy as they could watch Netflix comfortably. However, we were rather disappointed with the condition of the room, particularly the bathroom. There was a strong unpleasant odor, similar to a septic tank smell, coming from the toilet/WC area, which was quite disturbing and affected our comfort during the stay. The bathroom also seemed poorly maintained, as seen from the cracked/chipped toilet water tank. In addition, the bathroom ceiling looked untidy and appeared to be sagging on one side. Another issue that bothered us was the presence of many large black ants inside the room, especially around food. The swimming pool was also not very comfortable, as the chlorine level seemed too high, causing irritation to the eyes and nose when exposed to the water. As for the restaurant, the food variety was rather limited. What surprised us even more was that omelets or eggs were limited to one portion per guest. Overall, we believe this hotel has good potential in terms of atmosphere, concept, and room size. However, for a 3-star boutique hotel with a rate of around IDR 900,000 per night, the condition of the facilities and the overall stay experience did not feel proportionate. In our opinion, the hotel is somewhat overpriced.

Good place to stay with affordable and reasonable price. This is my view when I’m visiting 3days4 night for my business trip. Services is perfect. But the door seems hard to open. Probably need to improve that. Overall best value.

the location is prefect for traveller. opposite Paragon Semarang. which can be access via 5 minutes walk. Close to main attraction of Kota Lama Semarang and Chinatown. The room is big and comfort. The only feedback is mosquitos at Cafe. Please do something.

Even though it was advertised as a mountain view room, it was really just high up and didn't offer any mountain views. The city itself is quite small. There are plenty of dining options downstairs, and breakfast was decent. You also have the choice of eating at the cafe just outside the hotel.

Plus: Friendly staff at lobby, reception and restaurant. Helpful staff at Obsidian who helped reheat our food although bought from outside 🙏👍 Location is strategic - near to the mall and walking distance old town tourist attraction. Minus: The touchless elevator buttons were too sensitive. The lift at all floors lit when hand came near. It caused the slowing down due to stopping at each floor and prolonged guests waiting time especially during peak hours. Sound proof was not effective- the loud noise from traffic, exercise dance music from nearby square was truly disturbing during night and morning. Restaurant is quite small. Hard to find a seat during breakfast time.
